What Causes Infertility in Men?

Both women and men suffer from infertility troubles. There are a host of causes that may lead to infertility in men such as lifestyle choices and obesity. Male infertility is characterized by irregular sperm function or reduced sperm count. Infertility has emerged as a common problem as a result of the modern day lifestyle. Extremely hectic schedules, stress, burnout, depression, unhealthy diets; all of these can contribute to fertility issues.

The various reasons for infertility in men are:

  1. If you are overweight, then it is time to lose those extra kilos. Obesity leads to a number of health problems, one of them being erectile dysfunction.
  2. Various hormonal problems such as complications of the hypothalamus, pituitary and adrenal glands may lead to low testosterone levels in the body.
  3. Various infections such as inflammation of the testicles and epididymis that causes blockage of the tubes carrying the sperm can be a cause.
  4. Various medications such as using anabolic steroids, antifungal medications and chemotherapy may hamper production of the sperm and thus hit fertility.
  5. Both alcohol and cigarettes may cause problems in sperm production, and cause erectile dysfunction. Excessive drinking may lead to complications in the liver resulting in infertility.

The reasons of infertility may range from medical causes to lifestyle choices; some of the causes may be related to the environment. A common cause of infertility is due to problems with transportation of the sperm. These are mainly due to blockages in the tubes that carry the sperm.

Symptoms of infertility in men are:

  1. You may experience low libido
  2. Your sperm count may be low
  3. You may experience lumps or swellings in the testicles
  4. Chromosomal complications such as reduced body hair
  5. You may have chronic respiratory problems

Hello, You can opt for a 3-6 months treatment with DHEAS therapy which shall help increase AMH levels else IVF would still be the best option.

Young age mein pregnancy maa aur bachche dono ke liye mushkil hoti hai. Kyunki maa ki apni body poori tarah se mature nahin hoti, toh bachche ke kamzor hone ke chance zyaada rehte hain. Yadi aap bachcha nahin rakhna chahti, toh ek trained gynaecologist se milkar decide karen. Is tarah aage dikkat aane ki sambhawna kam hoti hai.

I am 24 years old and I am yoga and pilates practitioner ,I tried tampons during my periods for first time, it hurts for the first day but next day it was fine but my friend said that pain was of breaking of my hymen .I m worried about my concern. Is it really due to hymen or that was periods?

BAMS, PGFP

Hello do not worry too much. Have it hurted too much at the time of insertion? In many girls hymen breking is accidental it may be also due to cycling or aggressive exertions or any other things. So not to worry for that too much. Examination by gynaec doc will help you. But its not necessary to do that examination also. Relax.

Did your boyfriend ejected inside your vagina? if yes, firstly get your pregnancy tested? if he did not ejected inn. Then no chance of pregnancy at all. Secondly for your lack of energy and above listed problem follow this natural remedy: there are 2 kinds of tulsi leaves we come across. One is" ram tulsi" (which is lighter in shade) and the other one is" shyam tulsi" (which is darker in shade) you have to consume 10-15 leaves of" shyam tulsi" which means the leaves with darker shade. Take 10 to 15 leaves of shyam tulsi and grind it into a paste. Boil this paste in 200 ml of water until the water comes down to the level of 100 ml. Consume this water swallowing (never chew tulsi) the leave remains daily in 3 installments without break. I guarantee you that you will feel better instantly and will get a permanent cure in some days. Besides natural remedies doesn't even have any side effects along with them. Besides keep yourself warm and away from cold/heat.

All of them require to be tested for HIV about 6 months after exposure. You are risk free only if they all test negative. The infection spreads through blood products and body fluids.
