I'm 20 old and my girlfriend is 21. I had sex with my girlfriend before 7 day without any protection during her periods is their any chances of getting pregnant I'm worried and she didn't eat any types pills.

General Physician, Noida
If she is already on pills or she took i-pill within 72 hours of intercourse or if she was in her safe period, she may not get pregnant. If you had sex when she was in 12th-16th day of menses (when menses started is counted as first day), and she has not take pills, chances of her getting pregnant are very high. If she was on 8th-11thday of 17th-20th day of menses pregnancy may or may not occur. Risk is there. If it was 1st to 7th day or 21st to 28th day of her menses, there are no chances of her getting pregnant.

Hello doctor I don't have periods few months. I checked up from doctor My report say dis. Left ovary shows a well defined aneclioic cystic of size 77*66mm. No e/o any septation or mural module noted. Please tell which type of cyst in ovary is it water type cyst or any other. Please suggest me some tips about it. How can I get rid of dis. Please guide me doctor. thanks.

Homeopath, Hubli-Dharwad
As such this cyst is looking benign type. And it's nor too much big to operate. And nor of size so that can go with oral medicine. Treatment depends on your symptom. If you have pain you can get drained out. Or can go for laparoscopic removal and get tested for histopathologically.

How to Deal with Lubrication Issues in Women?

Sexologist, Nashik
How to Deal with Lubrication Issues in Women?

Vaginal dryness can be caused due to a range of factors, including hormonal alterations, medicine side effects, psychological factors like stress and anxiety and much more. Female lubrication begins as your hormones signal your brain that you are being aroused sexually.

There is swelling in the inner and outer vaginal lips and your vulvovaginal glands start secreting fluids to help the process of penetration. But some women find it really difficult to feel wet and ready for the intercourse and experience painful intercourse before they finally lose interest in the whole act of lovemaking. Before you give up hope, ask yourself these few important questions and make the necessary changes to help yourself lubricate enough while enjoying intimate acts.

Are you too stressed out?
This is one of the most important reasons behind the lack of sexual drive in both men and women. It also occurs when you are ageing and approaching menopause. Lack of proper lubrication also takes place as your hormones rise and then fall, and you can consider meditating or performing a few yoga exercises in the morning to help your sex health.

Are you on a medication?
There are certain antibiotics and other medicines that lead to vaginal dryness as a form of a side effect and your sex health would come back to its normal state after seven days of finishing the course.

Are you hurrying too much?
It can so happen that your regular sexual activity is demanding for a longer course of foreplay, such as kissing, touching and cuddling, so that you get the time to become fully aroused. There are some erogenous spots in your body that crave for attention, and you can try a new position or a new sex toy or probably go with playful stroking and kissing all over the body to get stimulated.

Is everything about your diet alright?
Your diet mirrors how your body is going to respond to various situations. It is good to include loads of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables in your diet and curb down those sweet meats, cream coffees, fries and junk foods and drink more water. You can also consider incorporating zinc and vitamin supplements as they help in lubrication.

Thankfully, these ways of handling lubrication issues are much easier than estrogen inserts. If you are experiencing symptoms like hot flashes owing to vaginal dryness, you can go for an oral medication as prescribed by a health expert. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a sexologist.

6 Ayurvedic Home Treatments For Acidity

6 Ayurvedic Home Treatments For Acidity

Gastric acids are chemicals provided by your stomach to aid digestion. But the corrosive effects they induce are counteracted by the secretion of other chemicals. It is when the secretion of these chemicals is impaired that it leads to damaged stomach lining, causing acidity, also known as acid reflux.

Ayurveda promises some easy home treatments for acidity which are quite efficient in ensuring fast recovery for you. You can use any of these listed Ayurvedic treatments if you suffer from acidity.

  1. Amla powder (Indian Gooseberry) and honey: Soak one teaspoonful of amla powder in half a cup of water. Add honey and stir and drink empty stomach in the morning. Repeat similarly for the evening.
  2. Cumin seeds: You can reduce cumin seeds to their powder form, then you have to add half a spoon of it to water; presumably, one liter. Then, keep the solution boiling then filter it. You will have to make sure that you drink this solution instead of normal water. Take this water based solution everyday till recovery. This is quite an effective remedy for acidity.
  3. Mulethi (liquorice) and honey: You can reduce liquorice root to powder, then to half a spoon of this powder add little honey to form paste. Lick to consume this paste twice daily after meals. Liquorice neutralizes the acids quickly to give relief.
  4. White pumpkin juice: Take white pumpkin peel and slice it and make a pulpy juice out of it. Half a cup twice daily gives fast recovery from gastritis and acidity. Alternatively you may eat sweet made of pumpkin (peetha ki methai) after meals.
  5. Buttermilk: You can take half a glass of buttermilk and add a pinch of each asafetida and turmeric to it. With it, also take care to add a tiny amount of fenugreek and drink it at night, to make the most of its benefits.
  6. Jaggery: You can try taking boiled ash gourd with jaggery. This relieves the burning sensation in the stomach to a considerable extent.

I am going to do first time sex with my virgin girlfriend. Please give me some precautionary tips.

PGD IN ULTRAASONOGRAPHY, Non invasive cardiology course, MD - Medicine, MBBS

Every girl will be in some pain their first time some worse than others like for me it was unbearable and I had to make my bf stop it hurt so much and some girls barely feel a thing so who knows maybe she won't hurt so much but something that helps is TONS of foreplay I can't stress that enough she needs to be very wet. Start off with just kissing and you should know how that goes whatever turns her on the most do that finger her start of with one finger then 2 then 3 see how that goes play with her touch her anything and you get some lube (you should know what to do their) and before you put it in ask her if she's ready make sure she knows what your about to do once she says she's ready put it in not all the way just a little watch her face see if she looks like she's in pain ask her if she's ok and then go a little further kiss her and try to take her mind off the pain it will go away but sometimes it takes a while just make sure your slow and gentle and only speed up if she gives you the ok to do so and be prepared to stop if she asks because she might like I said just make sure she's really wet and go slow put a little in at a time and you should be fine :) good luck hope I helped!

Yes, they can. Many STDs spread through any type of sexual activity, including skin-to-skin contact and oral sex. This is especially true of STDs that produce genital lesions or sores.

Hi! this is not normal thing. Menstrual bleeding can be reduced by various reasons like stress, hormonal imbalance, thyroid diseases, polycystic ovarian disease etc. So its better to take treatment for that.

In some times periods Are irregular in 4r 5 months continuously bleeding in 2 months.

Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, Menstrual periods are often irregular during the first few years after menstruation starts. It may take several years for the hormones that control menstruation to reach a balance. Menopause or peri-menopause is the phase when a female again faces irregular menses. Pregnancy is the most common cause of a missed period. If you might be pregnant, treat yourself as if you are pregnant until you know for sure. Use a home pregnancy test as the first step to finding out whether you are pregnant. If you are not pregnant, other causes of missed or irregular periods include: Excessive weight loss or gain. Although low body weight is a common cause of missed or irregular periods, obesity also can cause menstrual problems. Eating disorders, such as anorexia or bulimia. For more information, see the topic Anorexia Nervosa or Bulimia Nervosa. Increased exercise. Missed periods are common in endurance athletes. Emotional stress. Illness. Travel. Medicines such as birth control methods, which may cause lighter, less frequent, more frequent, or skipped periods or no periods at all. Hormone problems. This may cause a change in the levels of the hormones that the body needs to support menstruation. Illegal drug use. Problems with the pelvic organs , such as imperforate hymen, polycystic ovary syndrome, or Asherman's syndrome. Breast-feeding. Many women do not resume regular periods until they have completed breast-feeding. Other diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome, tuberculosis, liver disease, and diabetes can cause missed or irregular periods, although this is rare. Any nutritional deficiency can also lead to Menstrual problem/ irregularity. Take more of green vegetables, nuts, salads, seasonal fruits, yellow coloured veggies, milk & milk products, plenty of water and enough of sleep & rest. Take homoeopathic medication – Schwabe's Five Phos. And Alfaalfa Tonic – both thrice daily for 1 month. **********Get your blood test for CBC, ESR, TFT and an Ultrasouns (pelvis) done*******

How to confirm menopause clinically if 42 years old woman comes with 2 months amenorrhoea ?

Dear lybrate-user, best is to wait. No periods for good 6 months, goes in favour of menopause. Lab tests are there but may be done only if there is anxiety.

My friend is 44yrs old. Had gone through a hysterectomy 8 yrs ago and removed one ovary due to fibroids. Now her doctor has asked her to remove the second ovary too due to a cyst which is around 7 cms and causes a lot of pain every time she ovulates. My question is will she loose her sex drive and will she be unable to have an orgasm? Her doctor has also said he won't put her on hrt. But natural pills for hormones.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
yes, your sexual desire may change. That’s because both testosterone and estrogen, hormones that are important in sexual desire and intercourse, are produced in the ovaries. These glands produce about half of testosterone and nearly all of estrogen. While testosterone is thought to contribute mainly to desire, estrogen is important for healthy vaginal tissue, keeping it thick, moist and flexible. Without estrogen, vaginal tissue becomes drier and thinner, more likely to tear and lead to painful intercourse. While supplemental estrogen can prevent or minimize this, without it you may find the fear of pain prevents you from having sex. Many studies, however, show an improvement in sexual function after a hysterectomy. This is likely because the surgery eliminates the pain, bleeding or other symptoms that may have caused problems with sex. Also, the surgery eliminates the possibility of pregnancy, thus making sex more gratifying for some women.
