Sir! My wife has problem of abdominal pain and white discharge for four years. Is it curable? Is this sign of cervical cancer? please help me kindly. i have lost hope due to her problem.

MBBS, MD - Medicine, MD - Oncology

I hope you got your wife properly examined. There can be many causes of white discharge. Even cervix cancer can be detected by proper examination and a pap smear test. Your wife will get cured if properly taken care of and you should not loose hope. Take her to a good gynecologist for examination who will properly examine her and ask for necessary investigations to rule out the problem.

I am 24 years old male. Since two days I am experiencing severe pain in the anus. I guess its an acne that has come up on the anal orifice. I can barely move. Due to the pain I cannot even use the toilet for both obvious reasons. The pain is distracting me and the immense pain while the anus gets squeezed is unbearable. Please guide. Thank you.

This looks like anal fissure. Take sitz bath 3 to 4 times a day. This means sitting in a basin of warm water. Also do anal exercises during sitz bath nd even otherwise. This means alternately contracting nd relaxing the anal area between your buttocks. Also increase leafy vegetables fruits salad in diet. Take plenty of fluids. Avoid spices nd chillies. If constipated take some laxative or isabgul in warm milk. Also get examined by a general surgeon.

I am 30 year old male. I had single fissure at anorectal jn with scarring from last 10 months. I had very little blood after stool and irritation and burning sensation earlier. Then I stopped spicy and junk foods and started taking fiber rich foods and more water. Now I had normal stools an no irritation or burning sensation but when ever I eat spicy or junk food, I have a chance of irritation or burning sensation in my anus and I am not comfortable in long time sitting more than 1 or 2 hour. I want to get rid of this condition completely. I tried Allopathy but it only gives relief in my condition. It did not cure me completely. I want a complete heal and cure of anal fissure and do not want fissure to come back again in future.

Mr. lybrate-user. As you have stated it I have this problem when I take spicy food. This is the problem with your diet you have to improve your eating habits take three full meals with plenty of water and vegetables fruits and add stool softener in your daily routine you should not pass hard stools This routine you have to follow for at least 4-5 months then your constipation cycle will improve. I hope you got your answer. If you have any doubt you can consult me.

I am suffering from stomach problem from last more then five years, Gas, loose motion, constipation etc. Now I came to realise this effect on my sexual life. I am 30 years old. Kindly advice.

MBBS, DGO (cal)
General Physician,
At your age mostly these occur due to drinking unsafe water here and there, unhealthy food from roadside stalls. Of course sometimes some anxiety and depression may be manifested like this. You said you are suffering since more than last five years, right? I am suggesting some treatment which shall take 10 days to complete. After that if it persist you must consult Gastroenterologist. You give me some information and start practicing some habits in the meantime. Are you allergic to any drug, specially Tinidazole, Ciprofloxacin etc? What is your sleep pattern? Do sleep early in night? What is your Occupation? Do you smoke or drink alcohol? Come with the answer in my Private Question area. Do'nt worry about any expenditure. I wont charge anything form you for my consultation. In the meantime start practicing following: 1) Drink always safe water. Like fro tube-wells, Aqua-guard, RO etc. Don't drink any water from unknown source. Either carry your drinking water or if all the above are not available use bottled water. 2) Take enough Vegetables with your food. 3) Avoid fast-foods and oil reach food for 2 months. Come back for medicinal treatment with all those answers. Let us make it a fruitful procedure.

Serum bilirubin 13.1 is too much get his ultrasonography done to rule out if there is gall bladder stone because such high bilirubin till date no response may be due to some serious reasons. Consult a best gastroenterologist as it is an alarming condition. Wishing you all the best.

Could Your Pelvic Pain be Endometriosis?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Could Your Pelvic Pain be Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a painful condition where the endometrium tissue lining the walls of the uterus, grows as implants outside the womb of the patient. This can lead to a number of painful conditions and is often considered as a common cause behind severe pelvic pain, as far as women are concerned. Here is all you need to know about Endometriosis and pelvic pain.

  1. Painful Menstruation: Depending on the stage of the condition, the implants could remain on the surface or go deeper into the ovaries which may cause acute and severe problem during ovulation as well as the menstrual cycles. This is one of the symptoms that one must not ignore. If you are having painful cramps that affect the pelvic area and the abdomen, and if these cramps last throughout the duration of the cycle, then there are strong chances that you are experiencing the pain that comes with Endometriosis.
  2. Pain During and After Intercourse: While there are many reasons why women may face pain during intercourse, it may be noted that vaginal and pelvic pain that come during and after intercourse could point towards the presence of Endometriosis, which is causing irritation and discomfort due to the implants.
  3. Bowel Movements and Urination: Usually, pelvic pain may trickle down to and also get activated by the bowels when there is a motion as well as urination. This is a common problem that can cause pain, which spreads throughout the region if the patient is suffering from Endometriosis.
  4. Bloating and Other Symptoms: When the abdomen and nearby regions face bloating due to the implants and their painful spread, the pelvic region as a whole bears the brunt in terms of severe pelvic pain. The bloating and other symptoms like loose motions and constipation can also create pain in the abdomen and pelvic region on a persistence basis. Sharp pains may also shoot up and down the lower back due to such symptoms which should not be ignored if they do not abate within a few days.
  5. Misdiagnosis: Many times, the bloating and pelvic pain may be linked with pelvic inflammatory disease, which causes pain in the muscles and joints. But if you are having pain in the abdomen as well as problems during your menstrual cycle, then it may be helpful to have the tests for Endometriosis done as well.

In order to diagnose the condition, the doctor must ensure that proper imaging tests like MRI and CT scans as well as an ultrasound with lab tests based on blood samples have been conducted. The pelvic pain that comes with this condition can be treated with the help of pain relievers like ibuprofen and aspirin.

Dear lybrate user, a kidney stone is mainly formed due to the accumulation of the minerals present in urine. Such accumulation occurs mainly due to low intake of fluids. Continous low fluid intake results in the deposits of the minerals over the stone & eventually leads to an increase in the size of the stone. If the size of the kidney stone is below 3mm then it is possible to get rid of it without any surgery. Take homoeopathic mother tincture berberis vulgaris q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water for 15 days. The stone will be expelled through urine in between the span of 15 days of medication. But as the size of the stone is more than 3mm, you should surely go for surgery.
