Dear Doctor, I am male aged 43 years vegetarian working in the Central Government office in New Delhi Office having sedentary life style. My weight is 82 kg and height is 5'10" I am having problem in the both knees. The problem is I am getting acute pain in my both legs. I am unable sit, mend my legs and having acute pain in the knee. Even when I sleep also I am getting the pain. CGHS has prescribed as follows: 1) Hot pack where the pain is 2) physiotherapy 3) walking 4) medicines 5) braces on both legs 6) medicines. Kindly clarify whether the prescribed treatment is correct or not. Or else kindly suggest what steps should be taken. Waiting for your response please.

Sir, i've read your history and after understanding your issue the treatment offered is very symptomatic. For better results you need a little more work up. This includes x ray of your knees which will help us clarify if there are any arthritic changes. Weight reduction and vitamin d correction will also help you. Regards.

Good day 1 week ago saturday I had a very bad injury I fall down on ice and injure my left leg. I went toi the hospital and stayed one day there now they saying my muscles above my left knee (ferrum) was a little bit broken open and we can do two things they told me or we make operation or put a brace. I have chosen for a brace and they told me 4 weeks home to recover with the brace and do not walk too much and walk with crutches. My question is will I recover with my leg totally after a lot of rest and do not walk too much.

Dear, Frozen shoulder gives acute pain symptoms at night. There's no medicine for improving the shoulder however pain killers may give temporary relief but that will keep the shoulder frozen only. I would recommend her to take physiotherapy especially shoulder mobilisation exercises which a therapist only can perform and it can take from 3 months to 6 months of physiotherapy for the condition to be fully cured (depends on her shoulder condition and medical history) For other joints please get some blood tests done (like rheumatoid factor, Utica acid, ESR and CRP etc) to check out the kind of arthritis and for that you need to consult an orthopaedic.

It could be due to cervical spondylosis this is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do neck & back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Use of cervical collar will give you relief. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Hi How the pain start. Go for hit compression around tha pain area for 10 min. After that you go for stretching with in limit.

U need to get an xray of the knee in standing position. Along with it your bmi is on borderline of being overweight. Reduction of weight will be helpful. At present go for knee strengthening exercise. Avoid squatting or sitting cross legged. Apply some local analgesic ointment on the knee. Hope this information is helpful.

Oil massage over whole body keep up warm in sun for 1/2 hour then bathe with warm water every day for 15days. Avoid oily or junk food and dahi and sour products e. G. Pickles etc and nonveg. Use light diets and soups of carrots and beetroot with ginger and haldi including ghee and fried with cumin seeds and garlic. Follow regular routines of getting all dietary measures and daily behaviours as well as exercise and yoga and morning walk every transcendental meditation every day two times daily.

start with Physiotherapy treatment. start Gait training exercise in Physiotherapy department. Wear knee cap open patella. wear sports shoes Don't sit on floor. Take calcium , vitamin D3 and Glucosamine supplement for 2 month.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Bruise formation indicates blood oozing into tissues after injury. By body's protective mechanism this blood collected in tissue undergoes chemical breakdown and resorption. The color changes of Bruise are due to these chemical reaction. Dont worry this will resolve in 2 to 3 weeks time. Meanwhile do the following at home. 1. Apply ice pack over the area for 10 mins and 4 times a day. 2. Apply Thrombophob ointment over r the area 4 times a day. 3. take over the counter available anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen for 3 days round the clock. 4. Do gentle knee movement and stretching exercises.

I am 29 years old male. I am having knee pain and muscle pain in legs since 3 yrs. I showed one of an orthopedic doctor, he says its nothing but because of my flat feet, I am wearing insoles in shoes (6 months use) as suggested by him, but no improvement. I work in a office where I have to sit all day on a chair. On holidays my plain reduces, but again on weekdays it grows. Its not severe, I can run and walk much. But when I rest, it feels like pain a lot. I have thalassemia minor, no allergy, no operation and had minor knee injury during childhood days. Help me out.

Knee advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

It needs to be investigated. Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.
