Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

avoid walking on artificial turf like road or concrete floor and instead walk on natural surface like sand / grass. make sure your trainers (shoes) are meant for walking / jogging ( a decent branded trainer helps). good luck

3 Easy Home Exercises for Sciatica With Foam Roller

3 Easy Home Exercises for Sciatica With Foam Roller

I   Glute and Piriformis Foam Roll

Foam rolling helps you make the best use of your time by massaging muscles, improving flexibility, and preventing injury. The muscles of the glutes and piriformis can greatly benefit from this combination, as they’re used frequently throughout the day.

1.Sit with your left legs lightly bent in front of you and your foot on the floor. Cross your right leg over with your right foot resting on your upper left leg, and place the foam roller under your hips.Put your hands on the floor behind you to prop up your upper body.

2.Roll up and down the right side of the hips and buttocks. If you feel a spot that’s tender or tight, spend more time working that particular area. Perform the rolling movement for 15 to 30 seconds and repeat on the opposite side.

II   Hip Flexor Foam Roll

Targeting the hip flexor muscles utilizing the foam roller is a great way to alleviate tightness and help prevent injury. These muscles are often hard to isolate when strengthening and stretching, but are used readily throughout the day.

1. Lie on your left side with your left leg extended on the floor and your right leg crossed over.Place the foam roller under your outer left hip. Keep your arms in front of you to prop your upper body up off the floor

2. Roll up and down the front and outer part of the left hip. If you feel a spot that’s tender or tight, spend more time working that area. Perform the rolling movement for 15 to 30 seconds and repeat on the opposite side.

III    Lateral Leg Swing

Many sports require the ability to complete quick lateral moves for success.Use this dynamic stretch to warm up the hip muscles that perform these moves to maximize performance and minimize injury.

1.Lean into a wall or sturdy object for support.Keep your core engaged and back straight. Put your weight on the back leg with a slight bend in the knee.Draw in your abs and raise your right leg.Keeping a bend at the right knee, swing your right leg inward at the hip.

2.Then bring the knee outward across your body, and back to the start position in a continuous sequence. Do this 8 to 12 times, and then repeat using the other leg.

Dear lybrate-user. Sometimes medicines will not help in reducing pain. Apply heat fermentation with any pain reliever ointment twice a day for a week. If no change in pain. Then take physiotherapy treatment. Inferential and ultrasonic therapy helps reducing pain.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -Apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -Find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -Avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -Good posture plays a key role in your spine health, helping to prevent additional back and neck pain and even injuries to spinal structures. Try to be aware of your posture and make good posture part of your normal routine. -head up, shoulders back, rear tucked under -Stand and walk with correct posture -Sit with support -Lift and carry carefully -And finally, keep moving:-Maintaining a static position for too long—more than twenty or thirty minutes at a time—is hard on the back. Prolonged static posture can slowly deplete elasticity from the tissues. By simply moving—be it a change of position, a stretch, or a short walk—the tissue elasticity needed to protect your joints can be restored and the associated discomfort reduced. -Stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -Some Physiotherapy treatment like IFT current can give you relief. -Consult a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your back pain. Best wishes.
