Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am dr akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Pain around shoulder region could be due to multiple reasons like tendinitis, arthrosis, degenerative tears, impingement etc. So we need to see actual cause of pain. If you can send me doctor' s prescription, send me a brief clinical history of when did pain start, what was the cause of onset, and what are the associated features, I will be able to help you more. Also if you have done any x ray, kindly send me that as well. Till that time, as there has been no mention of any injury, you can continue with conservative treatment. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards Dr Akshay Kumar Saxena

My foot problem very high pain at the time of walking I have many medicine but problem not solved yet. Please advice
One of the main causes of foot pain is wearing shoes that do not fit properly. You can also develop foot pain if you are injured during high-impact exercise or sport activities, such as jogging or intense aerobics. There are a few general tips that can help relieve your discomfort. These include: 1.applying ice to the affected area 2.taking an over-the-counter pain reliever 3.using foot pads to prevent rubbing on the affected area 3.keeping the foot that is causing you pain elevated 4.resting your foot as much as possible You can take many measures to help prevent ongoing foot pain. For example: 1.choose comfortable, roomy, and well-cushioned shoes 2.avoid shoes with large heels and narrow toe areas 3.maintain a healthy weight 4.stretch before engaging in vigorous exercise 5.practice good foot hygiene 6.always wear some type of footwear when outdoors to protect your feet. Please consult a Physiotherapist nearby to find out the root cause and to apply Physiotherapy modalities and exercises to reduce your pain.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

You can start with walk for atleast half an hr morning and evening. Instead of water drink a decoction of fennel, cumin, carom. Mix all 3 in water and put to boil on low flame for 20-25 min. Here are some tips to your aunt for how to handle her back pain: -while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. -a physiotherapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do them. -consult a physiotherapist privately for exercises that your aunt needs.

Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
