To prevent the development of acids in your teeth, avoid consuming sugary foods in a large quantity.

My friend used to chew tobacco since from 4 years but at present he is not able to open his mouth completely like before so wat to do?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Quit habits strictly. Seems like you have oral submucous fibrosis (osmf). Kindly consult an oral & maxillofacial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need conservative or surgical management for mouth opening depending upon the stage of osmf, mouth opening exercise & side to side movement of the jaw. As for now advice c. Becosules 5 cap (enriched with vitamin a, vitamin b & vitamin e specifically), for five days in the morning after meals. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

If you get your tooth knocked out, put it in milk & hold it in your mouth. This will help your tooth to survive longer. Make sure you see a dentist rightaway.

Flossing

For healthier teeth, flossing daily in a sawing motion is highly recommended. Take the floss to the point where the teeth meet the gums.

It is very common in pregnancy to have bad breath as you will have gingivitis because of hormonal changes. You should go for scaling and use mouthwwash containing chlorhexidine.

When I wakeup my mouth is become full of saliva, Sometimes it comes out and wet my bed. Give me solution.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Although excessive saliva is not too common, there are a number of conditions that can cause it - some harmless, others more serious. It is possible that your saliva problems are just a result of the way you speak. Some people speak faster or slower than others, just as some people blink more often, breathe faster, or have a more rapid heartbeat. This may just be what's normal for you. Since it is negatively affecting your life, I suggest your problem can be ignored. However there are medical conditions that causes excessive salivation injection glycopyrrolate reduces secretions in the mouth, throat, airway, and stomach.

Doctor my hairs and teeth looks like an old person white and brownish so please suggest me some solution for this.

You get scaling and polishing done for the teeth. If not satisfied with the results go for bleaching of teeth. For better cosmetic results you can plan for veneering of teeth.

hi. my daughter is 3 years old. she is having florosis. from last few days pus is accumulated in the gums above two teeths. there is no pain. please suggest what to do

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Hi Mr Mahesh The reason for the pus in the gums is that either the teeth are decayed or she has had a fall on her teeth(if they are the front teeth).Since she is just 3yrs old those teeth need to b saved till they naturally fall off.and to save the teeth a ROOT CANAL PROCEDURE needs to be performed. My teeth pains when I drink or eat cold foods. It is very sensitive and I can't enjoy cold stuffs please help.

BDS

At an age of 18+ sensitivity is not good it can either be a cavity or poor gum health. Just a sensitivity tooth paste will not help in the long run.

You need to get root canal treatment done to save your tooth. Tablets will not help for long. Consult a dentist at the earliest. You can do warm salt rinsing to relieve from pain.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Hello Lybrate-user, here are some home remedies to overcome your yellow teeth. Cucumbers are a good source of fiber for gums and helps remove sugar and chemical debris from the teeth. And, You can take the inside of a banana peel and gently massage your teeth in a circular motion for a surface-level cleanse. Happy smiling.

I am 45 year male. No diabetes. Only taking bp tablets telsar a. I having very bad smell in mouth from a year. Doing two times brushing, tried also all mouth wash. Problem not solved. Please help.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Are you suffering from dry mouth? the bpmedication could alter the salivary flow so increasing halitosis or bad smell. Other cause could be due to gastro intestina/ acidity. Avoid fried, fatty, oily, cheesy, buttery, spicy foods. Take lot of fluids, water, coconut water, limewater, fresh fruit juices, buttermilk, avoid soda and carbonated drinks. Avoid alcohol and tobacco in all forms. Brush teeth with fluoride tooth paste, use mouthwashes, use dental floss regularly. Get your teeth cleaned and polished by dentist once in 3 months.
