Hi, I am a male aged 44 years and having having persistent dry cough for last 15 days. There is a slight pain also in the throat and whenever the mucus comes out is very thick and sea greenish in colour. Pls advice.

I have a developed a new tendency that if I don't eat between meals or take less food intake or have a long gap between food then I have a burning sensation inside my throat. Can you please suggest any medicine or remedy.

I am 34 old and am suffering from breathing problem before two years I had went to surgery for sinus I feel good after that but again problem is coming.

Hello. am 18 years old. I was smoking cigarettes by one and half years. I am not a chain smoker I will smoke two cigarettes per day but one day I found some small amount of blood in my mucus I got scared and I am suffering from tonsillitis infection also. I will be gettingtreatpain some days. So what is the cause for getting blood in mucus. Is this happened because of tonsillitis infection or by smoking. Now from three months I had quitted smoking.

I would like to congratulate you for quitting smoking first. Regarding blood in mucus you need systematic approach to find the cause. First a dental check up is needed, then a thorough ent check up is required and finally a chest physician's opinion is needed. This will be a complete work up for your problem. And remember most of the people who quit smoking they restart in one year so be strong and be prepared to avoid several opportunities may come your way to restart smoking.

Hi doctor, I am 21 year old and I have ear pain from last four days at that same time I suffered from tongue ulcer now little bit alright from that, let me know the solution for ear pain (left ear).?

Your tongue ulcer should be cured first as the ear pain is mainly a referred pain from the oropharynx.

I have tinnitus. Just started a few days back. Had loud tinintus episodes on 15th jan 15 then 25tg and then on 3rd and 4th, 15,25 and 3rd were in the evening all times I had red wine and was watching Television. Now it's continous since 3rd evening and can only be heard in quite conditions. What could be the reason behind it.

low these tips to avoid airplane ear: Yawn and swallow during ascent and descent. Yawning and swallowing activate the muscles that open your eustachian tubes. You can suck on candy or chew gum to help you swallow. Use the Valsalva maneuver during ascent and descent. Gently blow, as if blowing your nose, while pinching your nostrils and keeping your mouth closed. Repeat several times, especially during descent, to equalize the pressure between your ears and the airplane cabin. Don't sleep during takeoffs and landings. If you're awake during ascents and descents, you can do the necessary self-care techniques when you feel pressure on your ears. Reconsider travel plans. If possible, don't fly when you have a cold, sinus infection, nasal congestion or ear infection. If you've recently had ear surgery, talk to your doctor about when it's safe to travel. Use an over-the-counter decongestant nasal spray. If you have nasal congestion, use a nasal decongestant about 30 minutes to an hour before takeoff and landing. Avoid overuse, however, because nasal decongestants taken over several days can increase congestion. Use oral decongestant pills cautiously. Oral decongestants may be helpful if taken 30 minutes to an hour before an airplane flight. However, if you have heart disease, a heart rhythm disorder or high blood pressure or if you've experienced possible medication interactions, avoid taking an oral decongestant unless your doctor approves. If you're a man older than age 50, you may experience serious side effects after taking decongestants containing pseudoephedrine (Actifed, Sudafed), such as urinary retention, especially if you have an enlarged prostate. If you're pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking oral decongestants. Take allergy medication. If you have allergies, take your medication about an hour before your flight. Use filtered earplugs. These earplugs slowly equalize the pressure against your eardrum during ascents and descents. You can purchase these at drugstores, airport gift shops or your local hearing clinic. If you're prone to severe airplane ear and must fly often, your doctor may surgically place tubes in your eardrums to aid fluid drainage, ventilate your middle ear, and equalize the pressure between your outer ear and middle ear.

I used to hear songs through headphones. Suddenly my ears starts paining and I feel the pain also in my back portion of ears. So wat could be the reason for it and how it cud be resolved.

Please use soft earphones that fits size of your ears. Tighter earphones can cause pain. Better use external headphones. Don't listen loud music. Don't listen music for long time. Get an ent check up and a test called audiometry done to make sure that no harm done till now.

Have a friend call after the allotted time has passed to avoid the temptation of going over the time limit. Or schedule some of that playtime right afterward. 10. Plan for the future but do not worry about it. Make time tables and to-do lists so that you will not be worried about finishing stuff and so that you can increase your productivity. 11. Be positive. When you feel anxious, train your mind to think and feel positive and give reinforcement to yourself that you can handle any situation. This will significantly reduce your stress and anxiety symptoms. 12. Smell relaxing stuff. Go out to your garden. Smell a fresh rose. Take a deep breathe and allow the relaxation to course through your whole body. You can also use relaxing aroma therapy and use it indoors. 13. Go out and spend time with your friends and family. Spend time with your pets social support reduces anxiety and stress to such a great extent that it is almost always bearable. So next time you get on your nerves, go out with your friends, chat with them, watch a movie, spend some time watching the waves in the beach with your partner, talk to your siblings.
