1. Start with Physiotherapy treatment 2. Wear elbow support 3. Don't lift heavy things. 4. Do hot fermentation twice a day 5. Apply volini cream before sleeping 6. Take calcium and vitamin D 3 for one month minimum.

My pre pregnancy weight was 50 kgs and now I am 65 kgs. I have a 5 months old baby. My weight isn't shedding plus suddenly my knees pain alot when I go to bed and my back as well. I have no uric acid, sugar, pressure problem then what is the cause of the pain. The whole day I feel no pain. Please let me know what should be done.

Life-style correction 1) correct your sitting posture. 2) take small pillow or back rest for lower back. 3) foot should rest to floor easily. 4) take small break after 1 hr & walk few steps. 5) do neck & upper back extension, give feedback after 4 days. Knee advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

If back pain is persistent from three months then it will not heal by mere taking the pain killers. We need to identify the cause to treat it, it could be a problem as minor as a spasm, but it needs proper method of treatment and precautions. I would suggest you to see an orthopedic surgeon, who can guide you regarding the restrictions of movements, permitted movements and exercises. X-ray is often an investigation of choice. Wish you a speedy recovery.

Hello, you can take homoeopathic medicines 1. Rhus tox 30 (4 drops in little water) thrice a day for a week. 2. Ruta 30 (4 drops in little water) thrice a day for a week and update. Keep a gap of 15 - 20 minutes in both the medicines.

The space between my l4 & l5 (lumbar) has narrowed. I'm 50 years old. This happened 25 years ago but I still suddenly have unbearable pain. Have to lie flat for days & only then does the spasm release & the pain subsides. Is there surgery or some other permanent solution?

Hello, once there is loss of shape of the head with avn, nothing helps except thr. Seeing your age. The treating Dr. May try a bipolar prosthetic replacement of the head only, which will work for few yrs. Followed by a total replacement in future. Take care.

You may have sciatica pain. To manage new sciatica pain, you may find that certain positions and activities are more comfortable than others. The proper exercises from a physiotherapist will help reduce sciatic pain. The exercises recommended will depend on what's causing the sciatica. It's important to work with a specialist who has experience working with people with sciatica. It's also important to do the exercises exactly as directed. Here are some home treatments for sciatica which you can follow: -do not bend, lift, or sit in a soft, low chair; the pain will get worse. -try a cold pack to see if it helps the pain. If you don't have a cold pack, use a large bag of frozen vegetables; it makes a good first aid cold pack. -after the cold massages, try alternating with heat from hot bag. -you may feel better lying on your back on a firm surface with a pillow under knees. Another option is lying on side with a pillow between the knees to keep the back straight. Also, a recliner chair is helpful. -do activities one you are able to tolerate. Best wishes.

Hi Lybrate user You can use following medicines to get rid of your problem 1. You can do gentle message of your legs by applying Dhanvantram oil or sahacharadi oil than half an hour later do foot soak for 10 minutes by lukewarm water. 2 Use Dashmool kwath 20 ml two times a day empty stomach. Human back is an amazing example of biological engineering. It provides the basic framework on which the skull, Ribs, Pelvis, and shoulder bones are attached. Can we imagine the human shape without a backbone? We would have looked like a gunny bag filled with some putty like material and would have had no shape of our own. It would have been impossible to lift or carry any object from one place to another.

When we speak of back, we usually mean spinal column which is extending from the back of the skull to pelvis in a graceful yet extremely strong double S shaped curve. This natural architectural masterpiece of human skeleton consists of 33 blocks of bones called vertebra. They are given different names according to the region of the spine they belong to.

In the neck, they are called cervical vertebra.

In the upper back (Chest) they are called Dorsal vertebra.

In the lower back, they are called Lumbar vertebra.

In the tail bone, they are called Coccyx

The vertebrae are hollow structures. The hollow of all vertebrae put together makes a long tunnel through which the tail of the brain (spinal cord) runs. The width of the spinal canal is almost equal to the thickness of a finger.

Vertebra resembles a house in shape and functions.

As a house protects its residents, so does the vertebra protects the spinal cord.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.

You can have hot water fermentation for 20 min. And there are few physiotherapy exs and machines which will give you relief. For this you have to go to some good physiotherapy center for 10 -15 days. Once you learn the exs, you can do them at home itself. You hv to do the exs regulary even if no pain persists. Do not bend in forward direction. If you want to pick up something from the floor, then first sit in squat position and then pick the thing. Always get up from your bed in side turn position. Use cushions and support on your your back area while sitting. Avoid sitting for long hrs.
