Testosterone Hormone

Testosterone Hormone

Testosterone is a powerful hormone, with the ability to control sex drive, regulate sperm production, promote muscle mass, increase energy, and even influence human behavior (such as aggression and competitiveness). It’s no wonder that a decrease in testosterone would cause quite a stir. However, it is a natural part of aging.

In the Womb

Testosterone plays an important role in shaping the developing fetus during pregnancy. It drives the development of the male reproductive system. Testosterone also masculinizes the brain.testosterone levels have to fall within a very narrow margin in order for the fetal brain to be healthy. High levels of fetal testosterone may be linked to autism.low levels of fetal testosterone may boost your chances of getting Alzheimer’s disease later in life.

Adolescence to Early Adulthood

Testosterone levels are at their highest during adolescence and early adulthood. The first physical signs of testosterone, or androgens, in the body are apparent during puberty. A boy’s voice changes, his shoulders broaden, and his facial structure becomes more masculine. But as men get older, their testosterone levels decline about 1 percent per year after age 30.

Testosterone and Aging

low testosterone levels can cause changes in sexual function, including:

  • reduced sexual desire, or low libido
  • fewer spontaneous erections
  • impotence (erectile dysfunction)
  • infertility
  • Other signs of decreased testosterone levels include:

  • changes in sleep patterns
  • emotional changes, such as low self-confidence or lack of motivation
  • physical changes, like increased body fat, reduced muscle bulk and strength, and decreased bone density

The normal range of testosterone levels in healthy adult males is between 280 to 1,100 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL).

Other Possibilities

While the symptoms described here are considered a normal part of aging, they could also be signs of several underlying factors. These include:

  • a reaction to certain medications
  • thyroid gland disorders
  • depression
  • excessive alcohol use
  •
  • the best time of day to have a blood sample taken for a testosterone test is around 8 a.m.

Gastritis - Easy Home Remedies that Help You Treat it

Soreness or swelling that occurs on the inner lining of the stomach is commonly referred to as Gastritis. The main characteristics of this condition include severe stomach pain, constipation, blood in the stool and diarrhoea. The development of gastritis can also cause stomach ulcers. There are many reasons why gastritis or functional abnormality of the stomach is caused, and the main causes include:

  • Food poisoning
  • Consumption of alcohol, fried foods and caffeine
  • Intake of steroids and drugs
  • Allergy to certain foods
  • Physical stress due to flu or some surgery
  • Unbalanced and stressful lifestyle

Symptoms of Gastritis
The main symptoms that occur due to gastritis include discomfort and burning sensation, pain in the stomach, vomiting, poor digestion, dyspepsia, acidity and headache. Some people even experience a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen after eating food. If any of these conditions last longer than a week, it is advisable to visit a doctor to determine the cause.

Home remedies

  • It is very necessary to adopt a healthy lifestyle and eating small and frequent meals is always better than eating large three meals in a day.
  • It is always better to avoid foods that irritate your stomach and hence it is best to avoid fried, acidic and spicy foods.
  • One of the major reasons behind the occurrence of gastritis is stress. It is necessary that we be trained to cope with this condition and perform relaxing activities that would calm our body and mind like yoga and meditation.

Treatment for Gastritis
It is always better to intake foods like cheese, cereal, baked potatoes, soup and chicken instead of carbonated beverages and painkillers to eliminate this condition. Aloe Vera juice can also be consumed as it is good for treating gastritis problem, and it is very important at first to start with a small amount of the juice. My daughter is of age 8.5 yrs, but her body weight is only 20 kg. She most of the time complained about lower abdomen pain and don't eat chapati. I consult with 2 or 3 dr they have suggested for ultrasound. In which some infection was coming. On basis of that they suggested some medicine. But still my daughters do not eat meals. She only take rice with aur cereals and sabji. But don't eat chapaties. Kindly suggest what i need to do? Thanks in advance!

DMB
Pediatrician, Chennai
Your daughter's growth chart needs to be looked into as a single value is not of much use. If there is loss of weight or not gaining weight over a few months, then it is important. You have not mentioned whether the lower abdomen pain is present for a long time or of short duration. If more than a few weeks, get a stool examination and a urine examination to look for infestation and infection. There is no need to press her to have Chapathis. You can give a wholesome diet with other cereals, eggs, pulses, vegetables and fruits.

Effective home remedies for a healthy liver

The liver is one busiest organs of the body. From producing bile for digestion to eliminating toxins from the body, the liver performs more than 500 different functions. Unfortunately, with modern-day lifestyle (increased junk food consumption, heavy drinking, incessant smoking, skyrocketing stress levels and self-medication), liver diseases are emerging rapidly. But there are ways you can reduce the effects of these ill habits on your liver and keep it healthy. Here are some natural remedies you can try.
#1 Amla or Gooseberry: The Indian gooseberry or amla is known as one of the richest sources of vitamin C. What is less well-known is its ability to keep the liver functioning at optimal levels. This herb has been used extensively in Ayurveda for the treatment of sluggish liver; now researchers are finding in laboratory studies that extracts from amla have liver-protective function. However, there is no clear indication of whether it is useful to treat hepatitis B infection. Amla is one of the important components in Chyawanpraash that has immunity boosting, digestive and liver-protective action.

Natural foods for the liver

Amla is one of the important components in Chyawanpraash that has immunity boosting, digestive and liver-protective action.

Tip: Although, the best way to consume it is raw, you can add small pieces of it in your salad or making a raitha with grated amla and curd.
#2 Jethimad or Licorice: Licorice has long been used in Ayurvedic remedies to cure liver ailments like non- alcoholic fatty liver disease. In this condition, the blood level of transaminase enzymes called ALT and AST increase to harmful levels for the liver. Research suggests that licorice (Jethimad or Mulhati in Hindi) extracts reduce the concentration of these enzymes, indicating its beneficial effect on the liver. Here are
top ten health benefits of Mulethi or Liquorice
Tip: Powder Licorice roots at home. Add the powder to boiling water while making tea. Steep it for a few minutes and then strain the liquid.
#3 Amrith or Guduchi: Amrith is yet another herb that Ayurveda considers to have rejuvenating properties and is commonly grown in many kitchen gardens. It is said to have the ability to clear toxins from the liver as well as strengthen its functioning. More importantly, Amrith does not cause any significant complications even when used for long-term. However, Ayurvedic physicians warn that using this herb can precipitate liver crisis if the patient has a large amount of toxins in the liver. Therefore, it is best to use this herb only under an Ayurvedic practitioner?s guidance.
Haldi or Turmeric: Packed with valuable antioxidants, turmeric is an important herb that improves liver health. Some studies have shown that the antiviral action of turmeric is effective in preventing multiplication of the viruses causing hepatitis B and C. Here are
7 reasons to start drinking turmeric milk or haldi doodh.

Tip: The easiest way to use turmeric is to include it in your daily cooking. Alternatively, you can consume it by adding it to plain milk .
#4 Flaxseeds: Certain receptor sites normally bind hormones and keep them circulating in the blood. This exerts strain on the liver to filter out these excess hormones. Studies have found that the phytoconstituents in flaxseeds have the capacity to bind such receptor sites, preventing hormonal binding. This reduces the work load on the liver. Read about
five seeds that you need to add to your diet
Tip: Sprinkling few crushed or whole flaxseeds on your toast, salad or cereals to reap their liver-protective benefits.
#5 Vegetables: Certain vegetables contain ingredients that help the liver secrete greater concentrations of important enzymes. In turn, these enzymes help excretion of potential carcinogens (cancer-causing substances) from the body. Beet, cabbage, carrot, broccoli, onion and garlic are some vegetables having such an action. Broccoli, onion and garlic are believed to provide sulfur to the body. This helps detoxification reactions carried out by the liver, preventing damage.

While these natural remedies can help your liver stay healthy, it is also important that you avoid eating foods that damage the liver.

Hello acidity is curable with homeopathy. Acidity refers to a burning pain in the upper abdominal and chest area. This condition is medically called as heartburn. It is not uncommon for people to have heartburn episodes but if these attacks occur very frequently they indicate a disorder called as gerd (gastro esophageal reflux disease). This is also called as acid reflux disease. Although many people are able to manage heartburn with lifestyle changes but for those who do not respond and frequently suffer from it, homeopathic medicines can be of great help in curing this disease. Homeopathy can be of great help for those who do not show much improvement even after lifestyle modifications. Homeopathic medicines? iris, arsenic album and robinia are the leading drugs in treating symptoms of reflux. Nux vomica is very effective for those who frequently eat foods that are known to trigger heartburn. It is also used when alcohol is a trigger factor. Natrum phos is another important medicine which is often used when symptoms of heartburn are accompanied by sour belching and even sour vomiting. These medicines are apt in treating acute episodes of the heartburn; but for treating gerd permanently, constitutional treatment is required. This kind of treatment is a holistic approach and the prescription is based at the detailed physical and mental analysis of the patient. Lifestyle changes that can help in reducing the symptoms of reflux are losing weight (if one is overweight), avoiding trigger foods, stop smoking, eating small frequent meals, and avoiding lying down for at least three hours after the meal. Elevating the head of the bed either by adding a wooden block underneath the bed post can be of help. By the time you can start with nux vomica 30 power 3-3 pills 3 times a day on empty stomach continue for 1 month & revert back with changes thanks.
