I am suffering from stammering and unable to communicate properly in official meetings due to this I am unable to take higher responsibility in my organisation. Kindly suggest any Medicare for this pl.

Audiologist,
To be short and to the point go for speech therapy by qualified speech therapist near by. Do some relaxation exercises. U can try medicines but all of those have temporary effects ,better focus on behavioral changes and some modifications of speaking parameters.

My brother started stammering from 1 year. During speaking he stops eventually in front of someone else as well as family members. Due to this he lost his confidence in himself and now he even do not want to talk to Anyone freely. He fears that if he will speak he will stammer and will be laughed at by others. During stammering he sometimes pronounces a word longer than actual time Or sometimes he eventually stops during speaking and says that the word seems that it will not come from his mouth at that point of time. So I request you to give me suggestion on what I should do for my brother. Thank you.

Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (B.A.S.L.P)

Less the nervousness and be freely mixed with other, reduce the secondary behaviors is most important for stammering client. Confidence your self whenever you talking somebody, discuss about the any topic at home with family members. But you consult the speech therapist and evaluate the stammering then take continues speech therapy their are apply some techniques for u, like relaxation breathing exercises etc. That's you practice regularly at home. I hope after take speech therapy your brother's stammering is may be curable, speech therapy is very important got your brother, take speech therapy.

I am having a voice problem the words spoke by me could not be understandable to the another man to whom I answered it is because I have paralysis 3 years back which I recovered but the voice is not proper.

Breathe deeply and exhale on a hisssssssing sound. Repeat 10 times. Proper breathing is the foundation for a healthy voice AND control over nervous energy that can make the voice quiver. Say “Mm-mmm (as in yummy) Mmm-hmm (like yes) ” Repeat 5 times. This develops mask resonance, which creates a clean and vibrant sound by creating a clean approximation of the cords and a resonance that will sound great and project easily. Say “Mm-mmm. Mmm-hmm.” up and down your vocal range, from low to middle to high and back again, 10 times.

Some times due to overuse of vocal cords can lead to vocal abuse. To treat so just give rest to your vocal cords, use warm saline water to gargle twice a day, you can sip warm drink as it soothes your throat, you can try steam inhalation too. But if it persist for long or associated with other symptoms like severe pain, sore throat etc consult an ENT specialist for the same.
