I am a 25yr old male. Actually some days before I had sex with my gf but I couldn't penetrate and I tried a lot but all in vain. It was my first time. And whenever I masturbate I last for 1 minute or less than that. Is this serious. Please help me regards.

General Physician,
1. Masturbating and lasting for 1 minute is no serious harm. 2. You had sex with your gf not able to penetrate, repeated attempts will teach you. Consult me privately the technique for successful penetration I will tell you, before your gf thinks you are not able to do the act.

Cycle length usually becomes fixed between 21 to 35 days for an individual. But certain factors like diet, weight, sleep, exercise, weather, life events like marriage, change of location, work etc may alter the period length. So one should not worry if there are no other symptoms.

Hello, it is unlikely that in her case pregnancy would be a concern as she was not involved sexually with her bf, so the delay is most likely to be stress induced or due to a possibility of pcos as well. This needs to be investigated if her cycles have been irregular since last 6months but if this has been a primary episode than she can wait for next 3 months maintaining a menstrual calendar to watch for the pattern of bleed. If pregnancy has been ruled out for documentation then she can opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones. Regards.

Hey I am 19 year old actually first time I taken I pill to avoid pregnancy is there any problem or any serious issues...
I understand your concern... Single use of I pill do not affect the future pregnancy. I pill is actually high dose progesterone. Effect of it will last only for a month. But repeated use may cause menstrual irregularity and indirectly may affect the ovulation. There is no definitive study to prove its effect on future pregnancy.. So use an alternative contraceptive measure instead of repeated use of the pill.

The most important preventive measures

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Delhi
The most important preventive measures

Here are some #preventive measures that help keep to a minimum the risk of #hiv infection and #aids thus:

  •  if operations scheduled time if you can get your own blood as preserved blood. This eliminates a possible infection by blood transfusion.

  •  avoid resorting to medical care in developing countries involving blood or the use of syringes unless it is an absolute priority.

  •  drug abusers who inject illicit drugs should use syringes for single use. They can get them in any big city for free.

  •  avoid sharing with others razors, toothbrushes and other items that may come into contact with bodily fluids.

  •  mother-child: the risk of transmission of infection by vhi in a positive mother can avoid practice one cesarean and giving up breastfeeding the baby.

  •  sexuality:

  •  #safe-sex avoid sexual practices that blood, semen or vaginal mucus secretion and / injured or diseased skin may come into contact with the couple. Always use condoms during sex. For oral sex, try not to get semen or vaginal fluid in the mouth.

  •  also avoid having sex with many different people. A monogamous relationship only provides reliable protection against hiv and aids if both have mutual trust and can talk openly about possible infidelities.

New studies have shown that infection with HPV (human papillomavirus) can promote HIV transmission through sexual intercourse. Therefore, preventing the corresponding HPV infection prevent the spread of HIV.

Hello- Menopause is a natural decline in reproductive hormones when a woman reaches her 40s or 50s. Common symptoms include hot flashes and vaginal dryness. There may also be sleep disturbances. The combination of these symptoms can cause anxiety or depression. Many women note that stress is not the major issue, and that depression is really frustration that their libido is not in sync with that of their partner. However certain aphrodisiac herbs (in ayurveda) and specific tips can offer significant help for this condition and overall well-being.

My pregnancy test is negative I'm still waiting for the periods till date I completed 46 days. Am I pregnant or not?

MBBS, DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology

My pregnancy test is negative I'm still waiting for the periods till date I completed 46 days. Am I pregnant or not?
If the pregnancy test was done quite some time back you should repeat once and once negative you definitely are nonpregnant and can take medicine for withdrawl bleeding. At times if the menstrual cycle is irregular a delayed ovulation may occur. In that case the pregnancy test which was initially negative can come positive few days later. Thus the repeat pregnancy test precaution.

Dear lybrate-user, have you ever browsed about your pcod. If yes, you would not have asked me a question like this. It's polycystic ovarian syndrome and not" d" disease. Syndrome means a group of symptoms. Symptoms are those which are said by the patient. Dark armpits, inner thighs and neck, facial hair, upper lip hair, fatty body, acne (pimples) and so and so are the symptoms of pcos. There is only one way to get it correct. Make up your mind. That I will get rid of pcos. If ready, then you are free from 50% of your disease. The first thing you need to do is follow a healthy lifestyle. I mean in both sense. Follow the instructions of a good doctor by intake of medicines and do exercises. With just 21 years nd 90 kg means your bmi is more than 25; which puts in obese category. Follow it for one month, result is yours. All the best. Go ahead.

I am 19 years old and am a married girl we are very confused should we plan a baby or not ?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Chandigarh
it is better not to plan a pregnancy at this time.. you are a teenage.. teenage or young pregnancy is associated with many problems both to the mother and foetus. like anemia, malnutrition, preeclampsia, more nausea and vomiting, fetal growth restriction , prematurity, low birth weight and many neonatal problems. there is also increased likelihood of caesarean delivery as pelvic bones are not well developed amd may be a contracted pelvis necessitating caesarean delivery and hence increased morbidity. there is chances of varioud postpartum complications also.
