Whole grains include brown rice, oats, cereals, wheat, etc., which are the powerhouses of diverse nutrients. Oats, plain or brown rice are good sources of complex carbohydrates and help build your muscles. On the other hand, cereals are a high calorie food. They must be consumed as morning meal. • Brown rice can be a filling food because of its fiber, carbohydrates and protein content. If you are planning for a healthy weight gain, then combine rice with some other nutrient and calorie-dense foods. Instead of water, cook them in broth or milk. You may also add butter or cheese over the top. Starchy vegetables and dried fruits can be mixed.

Any time is a good time till you can digest it. There is no specific time when you are less or more tolerant. You have a decrease of deficient lactase enzyme in your intestines which cannot break down lactose.

Ashwagandha is a short woody shrub that belongs to the Solanaceae family. The powder is obtained from its roots. Take 1 glass of warm milk and add 2 tablespoons of ashwagandha powder to it. Then, mix one teaspoon of clarified butter (ghee). Stir it well and drink two times a day. Do this for one month.

Hi for increasing body weight, start eating more chapatis and rice with ghee or butter. Take creamed milk upto 400 ml daily. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, take pulses and pulses products. You can eat homemade fried foods but avoid eating from the market. If you eat non-veg then eat 2 to 3 pcs. Of egg or fish thrice a week. Also take 4 to 6 pcs. Of almonds or cashew nuts or some raisins. Must take exercise daily as it helps in better absorption of food and also increases your satiety.

I am 69 years of age man and the test done last month has not shown any specific problem. Last year I had gone through same condition of feeling tired, if not doing work, feel sleepy, uninterested in going out alone, any sad news makes me sad and anxiety takes over my body but once I am out with friends, feel no such problem. Last year I was given the following medicine for one month which gave me improvement. These are 1) Vitamin A to Z 2) stalopam Plus 3) Himcocid of Himalaya. Also advised if needed to take Bresol, Septilin and Shadbindu oil for Sinusitis. Looking at these, can you advise me as I am in Lucknow. Thanks.

Cold pasteurised milk does no harm. You can drink it. Actually warm milk is heavy and takes time to digest. but people boil the milk to kill its bacterias in it. If the milk is pasteurized then there is no harm in drinking it, only if you are not sensitive to cold things.

Pain arising from the neck and going down the shoulder or the arm could be because of either severe spondylosis or due to a prolapsed intervertebral disc (slipped disc). Do hot water fomentation twice around the neck. Avoid any kind of activity that requires prolonged neck bending. Do neck extension exercises. You can google the following exercises and repeat 10times- twice daily exercises- 1. Neck retraction 2. Retraction with extension 3. Neck strengthening exercises. Always use a pillow under the neck when lying down. If these do not help you. Kindly get yourself checked by a physiotherapist at the earliest.

Our weight should be proportionate to our height. For every given height there is a normal weight range. You must do several things correctly to gain weight. A healthy diet: this is the foundation of gaining weight. If you don't do this right, the other things you do won't be effective and could even be harmful. Follow the following tips:- · Pay attention to your health and food intake. · To increase your appetite, have a glass of lime water or 1 cardamom (elaichi) before your meal. · Have minimum 4 meals in a day. · Drink 1 glass of milk twice a day. · Try to enjoy your meals and gradually increase the quantity you eat every time. · A balance diet should have all essential nutrients in it. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It should include combination of Both Carbohydrates and Proteins for e.g. Oats with Milk or Poha/ Upma with a glass of milk. If you do not like milk have 1-2 egg whites in the morning along with your breakfast. · You need to focus on your protein intake : Increase your protein intake e.g. milk, dairy products- cheese, paneer, lentils (dals), nuts ( soya, peanuts, dry fruits ), pulses e.g. rajma, chole, kidney beans etc. sprouts. If you are a non-vegetarian, then you can have proteins by also eating eggs, chicken, fish. Make sure you are including at least 2 serving of any of these in your daily meal. · Lunch and dinner again should be a combination of Proteins, Carbohydrates and Fats which could have dal, roti, sabji/chicken, salad. · Please do have minimum 4 almonds or a small bowl of peanuts every day. · Please ensure that you drink at least 3 litres of water every day.

Follow these best methods to easily gain weight and get a healthy body - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid smoking & alcohol drinkg completely. 6. You can try protein powders like milk powder, soya protein for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day. I assure you that you definitely gain weight fastly by following them. Be healthy.

Hi, if the food you eat is not properly digested and absorbed then how can you gain weight. Nothing will work if this is not proper. Take *alfa malt forte (medisynth) 1tablespoon to be taken twice a day during meals for 1mth *take grd powder 1tablespoon in 1 cup of milk, drink once a day.

Hello! small n frequent healthy meals with some activity. You can take good quality protein in your diet. Like- milk n products, egg, chicken, dal & products. N visit a dietitian. It will help. The 1st thing you need to take care of is good quality protein, complex carbohydrate n good quality fat. N what you are taking before n after work out is also matter. Aim for around 40-50g carbs and 20-30g protein. This stabilises your hormonal system to enable tissue regeneration and keeps blood sugar stable.

Try this for joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

I'm 59 years old having knee pains since so many years particularly while in sitting pose with cross legs on the ground during doing my path or sitting at Gurdawara Sahib. All my tests are negative with Uric Acid 8.3 While sitting sometimes both of my feet also sleep.

It is not advisable to sit cross leg in arthritis of knee. Also. Because your thigh muscles are weak and sitting and getting up from floor puts lot of strain on the joint. The joint damage is more. Either you learn correct exercises from some orthopedic physiotherapist or else come to our private consultation.

Hello lybrate user knee pain due to obesity is a common major problem. Because hip, knee &ankle joints are weight bearing joints and knee is most movable joint during household works or other physical activities. Mostly due to adapted sedentary life style physical workout like cycling, walking &running are not part of our daily routine. She must try to reduce weight by some sitting position exercise, take high fiber diet, add salad or juicy fruits in diet, plenty of water intake, etc. Don't afraid from surgery" surgery" means patient become independent and pain-free joints, easy to perform her/his daily living activities. Before surgery ankle&hip joints exercises to improve strength of joints, knee joints too, especially flexor and extensor muscle exercises to increase muscle power regular for two months. Then surgery will be successful. After surgery regular one month exercises of knee joint will help to relax the muscle and increase efficiency.

Your diet should be rich in proteins and carbohydrates i. E dairy products, non-veg, fruits (banana, dates, mango, anzeer) go for gym for 1 hour everyday.
