Take high protein diet. Take small and frequent meals at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs. Each meal should have 1 protein food so that you can gain muscle mass.

Hi, I am a Commandant in BSF. In last 10 months I put on some weight. I generally remains in inspection where I forced to have non veg, juices and oily stuff. How to contain my weight and how much non veg can be taken in a day. What about having coconut water.

You should avoid oily stuff. You can have coconut water daily. Try to have cucumber juice after each meal. Have cinnamon-turmeric-fennel drink daily once on empty stomach. You will definitely experience change in your body weight.

Knee pain- both legs, since nov 2016 Reports - xray, protein, calcium, vitD, vit b12 all good. Previously vit d nd b12 deficient ESR is 10 Inflammation level - fine took medicines for that in dec for one month IRON LEVEL 38 Diagnosis - muscles weak, doing stretching exercise now Please suggest for what could be d possible reason for such severe pain. Is tht lubricant not forming. If yes, how to get ths checked. It starts after walk n standing for more than 15 mins.

Hello Lybrate user. It seems that you hav done the related diagnosis. As you mentioned above ther r possibility you have developed early osteoarthritis in both knee. Increase intake of natural sources of calcium n protein. Reduce all activity which r pain aggravating. Apply cold packs or icing for 20 min 2 time a day .do quadriceps static n slr exercises. Put towel roll under your inme ,press roll down using knee ,it's surrounding muscles. Hold it for 15 sec for 10 repetition for thrice a day n do hamstring stretches. I advice you include protein rich food in your diet and like soyabean, egg, milk and milk products combination of cereals and pulses, sattu with milk, sprouts and take heavy breakfast. 5 meals in a day in frequent intervals. Take soft diet.

To gain some weight, you need to eat healthy. Take small meals but eat something solid every 2 hours. 1. Take at least two fruits per day and one glass fruit juice. 2. Take one peanut butter/cheese sandwich daily. 3. Eat 20 almonds & 5 khajoor daily 4. Drink full cream milk, curd, lassi, chikoo shakes etc. 5. If your are non veg you can have more eggs, chicken, fish. 6. Dals have good protein. Have more dals, rajma, kabuli chana, soya beans etc. 7. Avoid junk food and colas. Avoid chips and other namkeen. 8. No need for any extra supplements. Natural diet is best. 9. Go for regular walks / exercise / do yoga. Sleep well. 10. Take deworming tablets every six month. .Feel confident about yourself and be positive and smile.

Hello, Tea and coffee can lead to dehydration. Alcohol consumption will lead to further dehydration. Do not take it at all.

check ur hb content...anemic conditions may also result in poor absorption of nutrients and weak body..take more milk, as it is complete food and lot of veggies n fruits since it hav all the essential vitamins and minerals..

I had torn my knee ACL partially 6 years back. After rehab and strengthening it for 4 months I started playing football again and in the last 3 Years I have done a lot of knee and legs strengthening exercises and never experienced any pain even when I lifted heavy weights on back and front squats. I also kept playing football every now and then but wasn't very regular. Now a few weeks back I started playing football twice every weekend and on the second day I felt a littler jerk in my knee. There was a little pain but that went away in the weekdays and I was able to play on Saturday and Sunday again. But on Sunday I felt that jerk again. Thought it would be best to get it checked out. I had gotten a knee MRI done in December and the doctor told me that its a little torn but if there is no pain I can continue playing and working out. Took the same MRI to another doctor and he told me that I need to get a surgery done and that's the only way to fix this. My question is this- what if I don't get the surgery done? Can I continue playing football? Is there another way to fix this. Are there other things I should try before I get the surgery done? How long is the rehab process post surgery. Will I be bed ridden etc. Please help. Thanks.

You must have torn your acl completely this time since you had a jerk twice and you are experiencing instability in the knee joint and thats why you are not able to play football. You should get another mri of knee and see a sports injury specialist. If there is complete acl tear and you want to play football then you need to get acl reconstructive surgery.

To gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

Hi lybrate-user after 18th birthday, you may put on weight, cause before 18 our growth harmones worked ovre our bone to grow us and after 18 such harmones worked over muscle to grow more. So please weight and try to eat healthy.

Thanks for the query. Maintaining your routine is the best option. Still if you r awake for studies it's better to have naps in between. Avoid too much coffee in night. Nervousness also leads to giddiness. Better relax and do deep breathing exercises. Have good breakfast in the morning as you will have energy to work. Drink plenty of liquids. Hope this helps you.

Dry or moist skin is specific for a person. If you have dry skin you need moisturizer. Having cow or buffalo milk will make no difference. Buffalo milk is high in fat content hence it is not suitable for certain people with cholesterol issues.

Dear, you can get a healthy muscular body by following methods: - 1. To gain weight, your digestion should work properly for proper digestion - take 10 gms powder of carom seeds (ajwain, 10 gm powder of cumin (jeera), 10 gm of rock salt. Mix them well and take 1/2 teaspoon (3-5 gm) of mixture daily after meal. 2. Take a diet rich with proteins and fats. You should take high calorie food that increase your muscle mass and induce growth in bones. Follow the diet chart in your daily life to fastly gain weight * in morning, take a glass of milk added with 2 teaspoons of protein powder with breakfast. * in lunch time, take 1 bowl of curd or 100 gm of cheese, a bowl of vegetable, with chapattis. * in evening, take 1 glass of milk (300 ml) with 2 bananas. * in night, take a bowl of careals (daal, a bowl of salad with chapattis. 3. In morning, get up early and take awalk for 10-15 minutes and exercise light weight exercises for at least 30 minutes at home or gym. 4. For proper weight, proper sleep is very important. So you should sleep for 6-8 hours daily. 5. Avoid smoking & alcohol drinkg completely. 6. You can try protein powders like milk powder, soya protein for weight gain by taking 1 tea spoon added in milk once a day. I assure you that you definitely gain weight fastly by following them. Hello Niraj To achieve your goals 55kg weight you should follow some weight gaining tips. Getup early morning. Drink plenty of water. Do exercise and Yoga, kapalbhati. Eat protein and carbohydrates rich foods. Take sufficient sleep. Avoid smoking and drinking habits if you have them. Avoid fried and spicy junk foods. Live stress free.

Corn can be consumed by diabetics, but in restricted quantities. preferably in the form of a salad with corn and other veggies. mix other veggies also in the soup.
