What is the problem rub the throat, allergy, it will be a good sneezing in the morning, every day? This is to switch between the drug and what to eat.

What is the problem rub the throat, allergy, it will be a good sneezing in the morning, every day? This is to switch ...
There are several things you can do to prevent a cold—they are all easy and inexpensive and worth the effort. Wash your hands often-with soap and warm water. The germs stick to the soap and get washed down the drain. Always wash your hands after coughing or sneezing into your hands, blowing your nose, after touching someone who is sick, or when using public restrooms or telephones. Cover Your Mouth and Nose When You Sneeze or Cough- Clean your hands every time you cough or sneeze. Avoid Touching Your Eyes, Nose, or Mouth-Germs are often spread when a person touches a contaminated surface and then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth. Stay Home When You’re Sick-Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, don’t smoke, manage stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food so you can fend off viruses. In general you should: -Take healthy balanced diet...like boiled eggs.daily in breakfast .. -Avoid people who have a cold or cold symptoms. -Routinely clean and disinfect common areas of your home. -get plenty of rest so your body can use its energy to fight the cold -staying at home will keep you from spreading germs -drink plenty of liquids like herbal tea or hot broth/vegetable/tomato soups. Avoid foods or drinks with caffeine which can keep you from getting enough sleep -Runny Nose and Sneezing- if you have post nasal drip, gargle to keep from getting a sore throat. Drink extra fluids. (avoid sugary and high calorie drinks) -Use saline nasal sprays or nasal irrigation • Tablet Nasorest-P once/twice daily may reduce the amount of mucous. • Do steam inhalation once or twice daily Treatment:There is a gradual 1-3 day onset of symptoms. It often starts out as a sore throat, then a fever and coughing. As the cold progresses, the nasal mucus may thicken which is the last stage before the cold dries up. A cold usually lasts for a week or two. But, taking good care of yourself at home can relieve symptoms and help prevent complications if you are otherwise healthy. Unless you develop complications, you shouldn’t need medical treatment. Complications include bacterial infections of the ears, throat, sinuses or lungs which must be treated with antibiotics. Cough-Coughing is how your body gets rid of debris and mucus from the airways during a viral infection. Unless your cough is severe or is keeping you from resting at night, it is better not to treat it. A severe cough can be treated with a cough syp, but don’t try to completely stop the cough. There are two types of coughs. Productive and non-productive or dry cough. Non-productive, dry cough. A dry, hacking cough may develop near the end of a cold. Dry coughs that follow viral colds are often worse at night and can last up to several weeks. Take syrup Alex-D for a dry cough. Cough drops can sooth an irritated throat, but most don’t affect the cough. Productive cough. A productive cough is one that brings up mucus from the back of the throat or the lungs. Productive coughs should not be suppressed to the point they no longer bring up mucus. Use syrup Alex. Drink lots of water if you have a productive cough. Head and Body Aches- Take tablet dolo-650 mg for fever once or twice daily

Tinnitus or ringing sensation in the ear is on account of the high decibel noise that you encountered during the explosive firing. The delicate nerves in the inner ear would have got damaged. It will take some time 4 to 6 months for the ringing in the ear to completely disappear. Taking a nerve tonic wil help in rejuvenating the nerves. You will have to take it for about 3 months.

My one nose remains always blocked either left or right all the time. Is it a defect or something else.

My one nose remains always blocked either left or right all the time. Is it a defect or something else.
Hello lybrate-user, the nose should not remain blocked. Our natural pathway for breathing is through nose only and when we breath through mouth then the functions of nose like humidification, cleaning of air, removing bacterias and dust particles all get disturbed. As far as your problem is concerned a simple nasal endoscopy can detect your problem and the treatment can be started. Nasal blockage is a symptom only and a disease in itself.

Discharging ear: Discharge in ear is due to problem in external ear or Middle ear. Micro exam of ear will conclude that. Threre are two types of middle ear discharge Safe and Unsafe….If there is foul smelling discharge it is usually unsafe variety of Chronic suppurative otitis media. X ray masoid, Culture and sensitivity report and Ct scan if required . Mostly this type of pt require surgery. In safe variety it is simple perforation in ear and can be treated only with Antibiotics, Antihistaminics and ear drops. May require surgery if there is big hole in drum.

I am having a problem with my ears I can not voices others I have cleaned my ears many times how can I solve my problem?
Dear lybrate user, please visit a physician, he/she would examine your ears and advise treatment correctly as its difficult to point out to the exact cause without examining. Common associated conditions may be impacted wax, middle ear infection, damage to ear membrane. Meanwhile, avoid using any object (not even ear bud) to clean your ears.

I am a 33 year old female. Living in UK. Two weeks ago I found out I had thrush and also had little bouts of vertigo for 2-3 days like I felt I was swaying a bit. To make matters worse I had fever too so I popped in a single dose of nise tablet. And for cold and cough I had 1 tablet each of wikoryl and ciplox. The following day after a couple of mins after I was out of bed I passed out. The NHS team came home checked my BP and sugar and said I was fine. Reason for collapse was excessive heat in the house and I was too rapped up in layers coz of fever. Had no medicines thereafter. Just used canesten pessary and cream for thrush as suggest by the doc. After 4-5 days my body started to recover. But now for the past 2 days I have again started to feel that I have this swaying sensation. I am unsure whether it is cause of the thrush. Please advise. I am feeling quite low cause of all this and is worrying me quite a lot. I have slight cold and a very light sore throat as well. The symptoms of thrush though less was thinking of taking a fluconazole 150 mg single dose. Could the thrush be reason for swaying or the cold or some other reason altogether? I remember earlier taking stemetil whilst in India. Am really confused. Just want to get normal asap and want the vertigo to vanish. Please Please help. Thanks

MS(ENT),DNB
ENT Specialist, Mangalore
It could be labyrinthine vertigo for which you were prescribed stemetil and I assume you were better. Restart the same bot on need to basis(whenever you have excessive swaying) and start tab cinnarizine 25 mg twice daily for a week. Avoid sudden jerky movements of the head.

Top 5 Sinus-Relief Home Remedies

MBBS, MS - ENT
ENT Specialist, Delhi
Top 5 Sinus-Relief Home Remedies
Acute sinusitis (acute rhinosinusitis) causes your nasal passages (sinuses) to become inflamed and swollen. This interferes with drainage and causes mucus to build up. It is difficult to breathe, area around your eyes and face may be swollen. Acute sinusitis is most often caused by the common cold. Other triggers are allergies, bacterial and fungal infections.

These self-help steps can help relieve sinusitis symptoms:
1. Get good rest. This will help your body fight infection and speed recovery.
2. Drink plenty of fluids: Like, water or juice. This will help dilute mucous secretions and promote drainage. Avoid beverages that contain caffeine or alcohol, as they can be dehydrating.
3. Sleep with your head elevated. This will help your sinuses drain, reducing congestion.
4. Moisten your sinus cavities: Drape a towel over your head as you breathe in the vapour from a bowl of hot water. Or take a hot shower. This will help ease pain and help mucus drain.
5. Apply warm compresses to your face. Place warm, damp towels around your nose, cheeks and eyes to ease facial pain.

The two readings of BP that you have mentioned are slightly high; you should get it corroborated by showing a nurse practitioner or a doctor who will check your BP for you. If the BP readings are high on multiple occasions at different times of the day, then you may have Hypertension, which is the disease in which High BP is the only problem. Since you are young, it may be related to gestation, or there may be an underlying condition which can cause Hypertension; this is called Secondary Hypertension, and investigations may be required to find an underlying condition (such as Kidney disease, hormonal disorders, etc). All these are best done by a Physician well-versed in management of Hypertension. The last thing I would like to say here is this: nobody in this world loves to take medicines; if there is someone like that, I have not met that person. Taking medicines has nothing to do with our likes or preferences; it has to be taken for better health and quality of life. If your physician identifies that you have Hypertension and that you need to take medications to prevent the damage that Hypertension can cause, then you actually have no choice. The silver lining is that Hypertension (again, assuming you have it) can be reversible in the early stages, or be very easily controlled by appropriate diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes. Till such time that it does not become permanent or severe, you have the choice of using these non-pharmacological methods. I definitely hope you don't have Hypertension and all this is a false alarm; but even if you do have it, please understand that it is not such a bad thing to be taking medicines for high BP.

When some polyp is present also, loss of sensing smell can be lost to know the exact reason your nose has to be examined nerve strengthening exercises, yoga, pranayama will cure this condition. Pungent n hot items can be sniffed 2-3 pieces of garlic and tie it in a cloth. Heat it and sniff the smell of it. 2tsp of turmeric + little ghee- heat it and sniff. Keep the follow-up with the doctor. In many children the problem gets corrected as they grow and overcome lots of problems. You can encourage your child to eat nutritious and healthy food whih can really help him in empowering the immune system. You should also tell him be active physically (let him play out door games for an hour every day. Include more of natural foods (fruits and vegetable) in daily diet. Avoid all junk good and cold drinks which will compromise his health if taken every day. They can be taken occasionally just to enjoy the taste. He can use steam inhalations to sooth the congestion. Please take the help of homeopathy as it works great in children especially in allergic conditions. You can call me for a detailed consultation later. Do not fail to implement the good habits that I mentioned here.
