I am a 27 year old, healthy (enough) male who has been getting intermittent, irregular and infrequent chest pains on and off for around 10 years.  During an'attack' the pain can be quite severe and sharp - I guess a bit like being stabbed. The pain is localised to the left side of my sternum and feels fairly deep (i. E. It cannot be palpated).  Attacks can last anywhere from a few seconds to a day or so, and tend to come in'clusters' that can be present for up to a week. There can be months between each cluster of attacks (if you get my drift!). Pain can sometimes be exacerbated when leaning forward, coughing, lying on my side or raising an arm (seems to always vary - and can sometimes not have any stimulates). During a'cluster' period and between attacks I can often feel a mild, underlying ache in my chest. This is easy enough to ignore however. I have had ECGs and chest xray that have all been fine, and am not affected at all during exercise - I can happily go out and run 10k with ease. Doctors have in the past ruled out gastro reflux as there was no tenderness on palpation of my stomach area, although I have sometimes thought that attack can follow a big meal and be accompanied by burping (although this may be my mind tricking me).  musculoskeletal problems have been mentioned, but why would attacks come in clusters and seemingly out of the blue?

There is sterno costal joint where a rib joins sternum. There could be arthritis of the joint. Arthritis presents normal x ray, normal ecg. Test to determine arthritis is check for tenderness. Press the joint with single finger. If it pains with medium pressure, it's arthritis. Another test is to take aspirin 2 tabs of 500 g three times a day for 3 days after food and with ranitidine, pain disappears. See an orthopedic doctor for full treatment.

High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. GARLIC,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines . Cap. Ecosprin gold-10 at night daily.

You don't have high blood pressure at the moment, but it is slightly above optimal. Single readings are not diagnostic. Optimal BP is <120/80. It would be wise to adopt a healthy lifestyle, such as eating healthily, reduce salt in your diet, exercise, lose weight if overweight, limit alcohol consumption and stop smoking if you smoke. The good thing about exercise is that it reduces the strain on the heart and also raises your HDL (good cholesterol) as well as improving circulation. Now with regards to exercise, the best type of exercise for the heart is aerobic activity which ensures the large groups of muscles in the body get a good work out. Swimming is good, as is brisk walking, dancing and cycling, etc. With regards to diet, as I mentioned before, limit salt consumption and the amount of saturated fats you eat. Also limit the amount of complex carbs you eat. Try and eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables per day * and also try and eat 3 portions of oily fish per week. Try and avoid frying your food, grill it instead. Switch to olive oil. The key is moderation, you can eat anything you like providing you don't go OTT. * A recent study showed that eating your "5 a day" fruit and vegetables may not cut the cancer risk. Many people have interpreted this study into meaning that eating your "5 a day" fruit and vegetables isn't beneficial at all and that what Doctors and Nurses have been advising patients is incorrect. This isn't accurate. The study just looked at the diet-cancer link (which we already knew wasn't very strong anyway), it didn't look at the other health benefits that eating fruit and vegetables has. But that study has certainly given the alties and their "special cancer curing diet" food for thought! There are various causes of high blood pressure, but proper diet and regular exercise are definitely the biggest part of the equation. “ Actually there are two types, essential and secondary, the latter accounts for about 5% of cases and can be caused by kidney and/or hormone issues. Most people have “essential” hypertension where the cause is less than clear. We know that a poor diet, obesity, excess alcohol, smoking and lack of exercise are major risk factors. Diet and lifestyle changes often helps and is sometimes enough to keep patients off anti-hypertensive medication.

You are very young with your whole life ahead. Make friends, go visit social gatherings, start a good hobby that will help you meet new people and mix with others who have same interests like yourself. Doing some exercise, even walking, will help in removing the body toxins that cause fatigue and depression. If you are able to, join some sport of your choice. Try to make it group activity. In ayurved, un-necessary Vaata cases depression and also disturbs BP. Please try this. Take castor oil (abut 35 to 50 ml). It will flush your stomach and reduce the Vaata burden in the whole body. Take care that you do not get dehydrated when you have to run to the bathroom at least 3 to 6 times. It may seem difficult, but this really helps. When the Vaata disturbance reduces, you will feel fresh, in mind and body. Stay positive. Nature is beautiful. Keep finding reasons to see the wonderful things around you. Feel thankful for all the good moments in life.

General Physician,
Hello what is the reason of cardiac arrest. I'm 22 years old. My echo cardiograph. Holter monitoring, lipid profile, ...
Ventricular fibrillation is the most common cause of cardiac arrest. Ventricular fibrillation occurs when the normal, regular, electrical activation of heart muscle contraction is replaced by chaotic electrical activity that causes the heart to stop beating and pumping blood to the brain and other parts of the body. Your AV block will not cause any serious effect like these
