Dear, pimples at this age is common. A good skin care comprising of a salicylic acid face wash, moisturiser and a sunscreen with spf 30 will help you. You may get adapelene gel over the counter to apply on your black heads and acne. Please do not prick or touch them. Avoid sun exposure.

My hair was quickly started falling down I have used many shampoo. Nothing happen .Please help me what I do.
Losing your hair can do serious damage to your self-esteem. But luckily, there are plenty of options to help you fight it. Hair loss is very common these days because of increased stress, nutritional deficiencies, lack of exercise and increase intake of junk food. Other causes of hair fall could be genetic, hormonal imbalances, under-active thyroid gland, and insufficient blood circulation in the scalp. There are many treatment options for hair loss including medications, home remedies. There are various over the counter medications available for preventing hair loss, but you need the ones most suitable to your hair type to get effective results.  Home remedies would include oiling your hair more often, include Amla/Indian gooseberry in your diet to promote new hair growth, apple cider vinegar can be effective to control hair fall and it gives soft and manageable hairs.

Hi doctor, from last 3 to years his beard not growing and he is one year big from me but I have very well beard on m...
Beard is purely genetic make up. It could be a pituitary issue, hair follicle or their lack of, or could possible even be genetics. To make hair grow you need to stimulate, moisturize, and cleanse. Use a soft bristle scrub brush for the face and use circular motions using a eucalyptus, menthol, and/or peppermint type cleanser or lotion. The invigoration of the brush and cleanser/moisturizer will wake up that hair follicles and gives them a signal to produce.

Think Before You Ink: The Truth About Tattoo Removal

MD- Dermatology & Venereology,Leprosy , International Fellowship in Dermatology, MBBS
Dermatologist, Gurgaon
Think Before You Ink: The Truth About Tattoo Removal

There are so many reasons people get inked. For some, a tattoo is a form of expression for others, a reminder of incidents and people. Since a tattoo is permanent, it needs to be carefully thought about. Today, you may think having your girlfriend's name inked onto your skin is a way of declaring your love, but what if tomorrow, you break up. Ex-lover's name is probably the most common tattoos that people ask to be removed. Yes, tattoos can be removed, but it isn't as easy as it sounds.

What makes a tattoo permanent is the depth the ink permeates to. Unlike, writing on your skin with a pen, ink in a permanent tattoo is placed in the dermis. This layer of skin lies below the epidermis and cannot be easily accessed. Thus, using a cream or ointment will not help you remove a permanent tattoo. It may help bleach the pigment slightly, but will scar your skin, leaving the area looking worse than it was before. Using an acid to remove tattoos is also not advisable as this will scar the skin.

The only way to effectively remove a tattoo without scarring is with laser treatment. The laser penetrates the skin and breaks up the ink particles. This makes the body's immune system recognize the ink as alien elements and removes them through the lymphatic system. This leaves the rest of your skin undamaged. Laser treatment to remove a tattoo is not a one time procedure and may need to be repeated a number of times depending on the number of colours, size of tattoo and quality of ink used.

A single laser cannot be used to treat all the colours in your tattoo. Lasers of different wavelengths are used to remove different colours. Thus, more the number of colours in a tattoo, the longer it will take to be removed. In some cases, even with laser treatment, the tattoo cannot be completely removed and a shadow may remain. Fluorescent colours are the most difficult to remove. Contrary to popular belief, black and red pigments are the easiest to remove.

Laser treatment can also be used for any skin colour, though it may take a few extra sessions to remove tattoos from a dark skin. The location of your tattoos also plays a great role in determining how easy it will be to remove. The closer the tattoo is to your heart, the better the results.

In most cases, removing a tattoo takes 5-12 laser treatment sessions. This can take from 6 to 12 months as the dermatologist will probably ask you to wait a month between sittings. Each laser treatment session is expensive and hence, removing a tattoo is much more expensive than getting one.

I am 18 years old and I am suffering with hair loss, poor quality of hair and dandruff on regular basis since last 1 year. I have been using lotions advice from a hair specialist since last 6 months but I can see only a small amount of results.

BHMS
Homeopath,
I am 18 years old and I am suffering with hair loss, poor quality of hair and dandruff on regular basis since last 1 ...
Dear lybrate user, hair growth occurs in cycles. Each cycle consists of a long growing phase (anagen), a short transitional phase (catagen) and a short resting phase (telogen). At the end of the resting phase, the hair falls out (exogen) and a new hair starts growing in the follicle beginning the cycle again. Normally, about 40 hairs reach the end of their resting phase each day and fall out. When more than 100 hairs fall out per day, clinical hair loss may occur. Hair loss have many causes such as:- 1) shrinkage of the hair follicles due to the influence of androgenic hormones. 2) under-nutrition of the hair due to fungal infection on the scalp. 3) effects of radio therapy or chemotherapy. 4) nutritional deficiencies. 5) autoimmune diseases. Modes of treatment for hairfall/alopecia includes surgical modes, oral medicine & local external application. The minimum duration of the course of oral medicines & external application is 6 months. You need the following medications:- 1) take 5 drops of thuja 1000, once in a week. 2) take 5 drops of homoeopathic acid flour 200 every morning before brushing your teeth. 3) take 4 tablets from biochemic kali sulph 6x tablets, thrice daily. Just chew the tablets as those tablets are sweet in taste. 4) take homoeopathic mother tincture jaborandi q, 30 drops, twice daily, after meals, in a cup of water.

Get rid of the Irritating dandruff...

BHMS
Homeopath, Chennai
1. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a widely accepted dandruff treatment, particularly when the flakes are caused by fungus. It's an essential oil that you can purchase online, at pharmacies, or at health food stores, and mix into an unscented shampoo. Or you can find commercially prepared shampoos with tea tree oil already in them. In one Australian study, mixing a 5 percent tea tree oil solution into shampoo was found to effectively treat dandruff in almost half the participants.

2. Eucalyptus Oil
Another tree oil, eucalyptus oil, also has antifungal and antimicrobial properties. Like tea tree oil, it can be found online and at health food stores, and diluted in shampoos or rinses. A study conducted in India found that a solution containing eucalyptus oil and coconut oil had significant antidandruff effects, and recommended its future inclusion in cosmetic and pharmaceutical dandruff products.

3. Limit Use of Products
Shampoos, gels, hairsprays, and other hair care products can leave residue that build up overtime. These can not only leave flakes on the scalp, but can also irritate the scalp and cause dry skin or allergic reactions. Some people can reduce their dandruff symptoms by simply using fewer of these products. If the irritation is due to an allergic reaction, switching products may also be helpful.

4. Daily Washing and Brushing
It’s a common misconception that dandruff affects those who don’t take care of their skin and scalp, though a regular grooming routine can often reduce symptoms. Daily brushing can stimulate blood flow to the scalp, and daily washing can wash away the flakes. However, make sure your shampoo doesn’t aggravate the scalp. Choose a moisturizing formula for a dry scalp and a clarifying formula for an oily scalp.

5. Neem Oil
Neem oil is derived from the seed of the Azadirachta indica tree, native to India and parts of Asia. It's said to be good for dry and flaky scalps, so you can often find it in prepared shampoos sold for the treatment of dandruff. Like tea tree oil, it can also be diluted in shampoos, rinses, or carrier oils, and applied directly to the scalp.

Final Thoughts

Dandruff can be embarrassing, but you shouldn’t have to spend a fortune to treat it. You can often find simple solutions in your home or at a nearby neighborhood store, without having to see a doctor.

Thanks
take care

  • When you apply any cream, sunscreen and the like, clean your face at the earliest, so that there will be no adverse action of the chemicals on the delicate skin of the face.
