Menstrual cramps, also known as dysmenorrhea or period pains are throbbing or cramping pains in the lower abdomen.Many women experience menstrual cramps just before and during their menstrual periods.

Who gets menstrual cramps?
About half of women experience menstrual cramps and about 15% describe the pain as severe. It has been shown that women who do not exercise experience more painful menstrual cramps. Certain psychological factors such as emotional stress may also increase the likelihood of having uncomfortable menstrual cramps. Additional risk factors for these cramps include:

  1. Being younger than 20 years of age
  2. Starting puberty at age 11 or younger
  3. Menorrhagia - heavy bleeding during periods
  4. Never given birth

Symptoms of menstrual cramps include:

  1. Pain in the lower back and thighs
  2. Nausea
  3. Vomiting
  4. Sweating
  5. Dizziness
  6. Diarrhea
  7. Loose stools
  8. Constipation

What does high levels of esr and lymphocytes in blood indicate. Do they increase or decrease during menstrual cycle.

High levels of ESR can be due to anemia, TB or any other chronic infection and lymphocytes in the blood are like soldiers(fight chronic wars) present in blood along with neutrophils (fight acute wars) We cannot diagnose a condition based on these 2 reports and they have no relation to periods unless some intrauterine infection is also present.

The problem you are facing is not due to medicines. It is not anything critical. You just relax. Do slow and deep breathing relaxation exercises in the morning. Take proper balanced diet. Avoid garlic and red chilly, non veg and eggs. Take lots of water. Your menstrual cycle depends upon your mental status and nutrition.

1. Spice detox drink

Water – 1.8l
Whole cumin – ¼ teaspoon

You didn't specify your date of periods for the month of July anyway you can take tab primolute N twice a day atleast five days before YoY start your periods and then continue for 10 to 15 days according to your need but not more than 15 days once you stop this tab you will have withdrawal bleeding in a weeks time but befor taking the tablets make sure your other physical parameters are normal YoY should get them checked from a doctor

I am 9 months 10 days pregnant today we met with a doctor told to sonography all results are normal liquid is ok baby weight is 3.7 kg as per sonography. Dr. told normal delivery is not possible, is there any chance to do normal delivery. Should we wait till labour pain, or admit for artificial pain and deliver.

Dear lybrate-user, Several factors are considered before proceeding with normal delivery. If only baby weight is the issue here, According to your height, a trial of labour may be given. However, This is my personal opinion. The examining doctor who has assessed you is the best person to decide the final mode of delivery. Also, for induction of artificial pain, we do it at 7 days past your due date, if you have not gone into spontaneous labour by then. Please trust your treating obstetrician as they know all facets of your condition. Wish you a safe and healthy pregnancy! ☺

Hi. I am 23 years old female. I had intercourse with my bf 3 months back. After which I got periods after 10 days. But I have been missing my periods for two months now. I had used I- pill in feb after which my menstruation cycle was fine. Also, I used pregnancy kit and the result was negative. Now I have again got my pregnancy test done. My reports says that my human chorionic gonadotropin, serum is less than 2.0. The method used was Eclia. So if you could please tell me what my report suggests. Also, if I am not pregnant then why I have been missing my periods.

If your urine pregnancy test is negative and s. Hcg level also normal then there is less likely to chance that you are pregnant. Missing of period may be of different reason like stress, loss of sleep, food etc. Do not worry, wait for some more days. And take breathing exercise (breath in deeply and breath out deeply) and take more water and sleep regularly 8 hours.
