I have runner's knee problem in my left knee. How could I recover from it?

Hello, the treatment depends on cause of runners knee as there are multiple causes of runners knee like. 1) overuse. 2) direct trauma to the knee, like a fall or blow. 3) malalignment. 4) problems with the feet. 5) weak thigh muscles or muscle imbalance. Meanwhile you can follow following treatment 1) rest the knee. As much as possible, try to avoid putting weight on your knee. 2) ice your knee to reduce pain and swelling. Do it for 20-30 minutes every 3-4 hours for 2-3 days, or until the pain is gone. 3) compress your knee. Use an elastic bandage, patellar straps, or sleeves to give your knee extra support. 4) elevate your knee on a pillow when you're sitting or lying down. Hello dear if you doing surya namaskar in yoga please stop it. Do hot fermentation at years hall back. If it is possible to hot shower over there it is much better. Do cat camel stretching exercise. Also consult with a physiotherapists to do correct your posture and make your rehabilitation programme. Gud luck.

I am 40years old, since last one week having pain in heel and ankle, even I am not able to walk. Some times pain also exist in hands and waist (kamar). When I take pain killer then I am able to walk but very slowly. I think my masuls become tense which create pain and swelling. Please suggest some medicine regards somesh.

Avoid long sitting tk lumbar belt with driving and do heat fermentation twice a day and apply pain relief ointment if it work then ok otherwise tk physiotherapy treatment swd tens or ultrasonic therapy must.

Firstly tk physiotherapy treatment for back pain and reduce your weight its due to over weight and it can create any spinal injury for future.

I am 57 year old and of late have developed some kind of lethargy and I had epliptic fit about three and half year back and am on eptoin 1-0-1and I am taking cardice am 1-0-1 every now and then my joints also ache. If I do some exercise also it pains and feel drowsy in day time.

As you feel pain in knees, follow these usefultips for pain relief: * first check out bone mineral density (bmd). In case of low bmd, your calcium level in body are low. So take take calcium rich diet daily. Take a glass (300 ml) of full cream milk daily or 100 gm of cheese or 1-2 eggs regularly. * give a gentle oil massage to knees regularly and wrap your knees with cloth dipped in hot water for atleast 10-15 minutes. * wear knee cap or wrap crape bandage during walk for knee support. * sit atleast for 5-8 minutes in sunlight in morning or evening for vitamind. *avoid heal shoe and wear only flat shoes for balanced load on knees. * check out your blood sugar level and hemoglobin level in every 6 months. * if you have any history of rheumatoid arthritis in family then checkout your ra factor. * take guggalu tablets if himalaya one tablet daily for atleast 3 months. * take a piece of garlic, crush it and boil it a glass of milk and drink daily for fast pain relief.

Start on with meditation atleast for 15-30 mins in a day that will help you. Do not try to stop the thoughts while meditating let them flow over a period of time you will get use to it.

It needs to be investigated. Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

You must do massage of the knee daily twice a day with sea same oil one inch above the knee one inch below the knee shin bone four inch below the knee 15 time each point and under the hollow portion of knee daily for five days. After that call back with the results and for more details like cracking etc.

Dear, you might be suffering from plantar fascitis or calcaneal spur. Dip your foot in salted lukewarm water for 20 min in the morning. Do ankle and toe movements regularly while sitting for long time and before you get up from your bed. Do ankle and foot exercises. Keep a check on your body weight and avoid long standing. Take care.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned back pain since one month. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi lybrate-user here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift current can give you some relief. -a physical therapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and how to do them. Take care.
