If you have used skin lightening creams for sufficient time n there's no response you can get chemical peel done for the same.

Local application of coconut oil or mustard oil or some soothing and calming lotion may provide relief in itching. Neem is one among the best blood purifier and detoxifier known to ayurveda. It enhances immune system and neem oil is an antiseptic in itself. Leaf extracts are used in antiseptics and can be effectively used in treating skin diseases. It destroys fungus and bacteria and is best for almost all kinds of skin diseases including redness of skin and itching.

Organic produce in the diet is helpful in providing the body with the nutrients it needs to create glutathione. Sulfur-rich vegetables such as garlic, onions, parsley and cruciferous vegetables are particularly helpful in addition to avocados, squash and tomatoes. Nondenatured, native whey protein contains the highest levels of the full range of naturally-occurring glutathione precursors: covalent bonded cysteine, lactoferrin, immunoglobulins, and active peptides.Fresh, raw milk and raw eggs promote glutathione production.

Believe me, if you are happy from inside and taking nutritious, healthy food and daily yoga or some kind of exercises, it will be automatically reflected on your face. Apart from these, you do follow CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. You can also use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel daily at night. If the dull skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter! Start using Bioforce's Blooume - 55 ointment (for clear skin) twice daily and also use Bakson's Suncare Sunscreen, 20-30 minutes before stepping out under the sun.

Skin Products - Why You Must Choose Them Carefully?

DDVL, MBBS
Dermatologist, Bangalore
Skin Products - Why You Must Choose Them Carefully?

Human skin is indicative of the health of a person. It is often said that most skin conditions are only symptoms of what is going on within the body. However, there are certain conditions which are caused by external irritants to the skin. It is thus important that you take care of this organ and also be careful in choosing the products which you apply on it.

Why choosing skin care products carefully is important?
In today's world of infinite choices, there are plenty of options in the shelves of supermarkets, specialty stores and beauty treatment spas that offer much variety. However, you should realize that a lot of the benefits claimed are just marketing tricks to get the products to sell more. It is up to you to exactly find what suits you best.

Various types of skin care products:

There are multiple types of skin care products. Some of them are:

  1. Skin cleanser
  2. Toner
  3. Exfoliant
  4. Treatment for acne
  5. Skin lightening treatment
  6. Anti - wrinkle or anti-aging creams
  7. Moisturizers

Specialized Treatments for Skin Conditions: As is evident from this list, not everything is applicable to all people. Thus, they have to choose according to what their most specific needs are. However, if you have a specific beauty regimen where you are using the products very regularly make sure that the ingredients won't do you harm in the long term.

Dangers from Lower End Skin Care Products: Skin care products sourced from cheaper materials or used in mass scale productions have known to contain many harmful chemicals which seep through the skin to cause multiple types of cancers. However the most direct assault is on skin itself and the most common worse outcome would be increasing chances of skin cancer.

Some of the harmful chemicals know to be included in cosmetic products include:

  • Lead
  • Beryllium
  • Thallium
  • Cadmium
  • Selenium
  • Arsenic
  • And Nickel among others.

Choosing carefully and wisely: Whether at the shelf or online it is better to research the ingredients before you buy a beauty product.  You should be able to look through the hype of marketing and the clever disguising of the ingredients or warnings in a subtle manner. You are paying for your skin care and thus should get the best quality product possible within your budget.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

I am suffering from melasma from last two years, many creams used but no effect, kindly suggest me suitable treatment.

I am suffering from melasma from last two years, many creams used but no effect, kindly suggest me suitable treatment.
Prevention of melasma is the best strategy The catch? No melasma treatment offers permanent results, so Morales recommends maintenance therapy that can prevent melasma from coming back. Certain common-sense tactics can also help avoid melasma from developing in the first place, he says. These include: Daily sunscreen use. Since sunlight is one of the biggest triggers for melasma, daily sunscreen use is non-negotiable to keep it at bay. Outdoor hats. Broad-brimmed hats help keep rays off vulnerable parts of the face. Seek shade whenever outdoors, as well. Gentle skin care. Since products that irritate the skin exacerbate melasma, use gentle products that don't sting or burn. "Melasma may not be completely preventable, even with the best skin care and precautions, Morales says. "But in the vast majority of cases, efforts to prevent it or treat it are successful at keeping those annoying spots away. TO prevent furthr spreding of melasma there are two main therapies described in ayurved the first one is VIRECHAN-KARMA & second I BASTI-KARMA. Safrron paste should be applied rather than heavy stroid containing cream For further communicaation you may chat with me in private chat.
