Blue coloured nails is what we call in medical term as cyanosis. It is because your blood does not contain enough oxygen because of usually a disease of heart or lungs. Kindly consult a physician and get your self checked.

I am getting excessive of sweat for every small physical work, even while walking in the evening time so my question is, what do I do for that & is there any treatment to close the sweat glances ?

MBBS
General Physician, Cuttack
Excessive sweating could be due to 1. Anxiety, nervousness 2 obesity, diabetes, thyroid problem, 3. Alcoholism or due to effect of some anti hypertensive and psychiatric drugs 4. Investigate yourself to rule out these diseases 5. Avoid anxiety, nervousness, tea/coffee, alcohol, spicy food, chocolate etc 6. Try some anti antiperspirant lotion or roll on. 7. Consult skin specialist for advice.

I am diabetic, bp, hypothyroid, gb stone of 15*6mm, hernia patient. I am taking medicines for all the above. Please Advice me on precautions to be taken personally.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Regarding online consultation there are certain points which all should know and follow. 1) the description of the diseases should be complete in all respects, including any tests done and any medicines already taking. Just saying I have diabetes since 10 years and taking metformin cannot help a discerning doctor a scientific advice. 2) your place and name and mail id and phone number should be in the question. It is necessary at times to know where you stay to give a good advice. (for example if there the climate is warm or cold and many other factors) 3) it is necessary to keep in regular touch for some diseases like diabetes and hypertension. So make it a point to be in touch by asking private questions. And repeat the essential point of the previous question to give a continuing answer. All these are said with intention to give a scientifically correct answer and talk as if in a regular consultation about which I am very keen to. 4) for personalised attention and follow up ask privately and it is better to make online payment if you are asked to by the doctor. It involves his time and dedication to give you expert advice after studying your problem. Ask personally in case of doubts about any medical matter. it is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch.

I have diabetes what to eat or not?

CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology, MBBS
Endocrinologist,
I have diabetes what to eat or not?
A diabetic patient can eat same type of foods like others. But certain precautions should be taken like - diet should be restricted to meet the caloric need, which has to be calculated based on ideal body weight (ibw = height in centimeters - 100 x 0.9 = kgs) caloric requirement will also depend upon amount of physical exercise or activity one does in a day. 25 kcal/kg/d, for mild exercise, 30 kcal /kg/d for moderate exercise and 35 kcal/kg/d for vigerous exercise. Plus avoid deep fried foods, sweets and direct sugar and processed foods. Use whole grain flours. Eat more green salads.

Hi, contrary to general belief, masturbation is almost certainly ok for your sex life. The fact is that most males masturbate. Masturbation isn't only about sex, it's a routine way of relieving stress, clearing your head before work, or going to sleep. But off course too much of anything can be bad. It leads to anxiety and loss of control over body mechanics. Though it may be ok thrice in a week, too much of it affects the senses and sensibility of an individual. Suggestions for you to reduce frequency of masturbation: 1. Read good books, newspaper 2. Spend time with family members 3. Daily walk 30 minutes 4. Avoid porn 5. Avoid spending times with not so good friends and alone. Do not be so anxious, everything is fine wit your body, relax, start yoga, lead a disciplined life, you will excell.

I have less Vitamin B1 so what may be possible disease and what is the source to complete it's please help me.

MBBS
General Physician, Alappuzha
Hey Mr. Lybrate-user dayal, vitamin b1 is thiamine, alcohol consumption and not having a proper diet is the main reason for its deficiency, which causes beri-beri, which includes heart disorders and pain due to nerve involvement mainly, further complications will involve brain and nervous system. So better to correct the thiamine levels in body, by avoiding alcohol, by having cereals-rice, wheat, etc. Grains, beans. And avoid washing rice too much before cooking.
