Along with the baby, the mother also benefits physically and emotionally from breastfeeding. Due to the release of the prolactin hormones, a peaceful and nurturing sensation fills the mother.

My daughter is 10 years old n my son is 4 years old. How to teach both of them to share the things with each other and not fight with each other. Thanx.

Children learn from the things they see. So you and the other family members start sharing things in front of them. You can sit with both of them separately and try to teach them sharing. Never lose temper in front of them. Be patient but firm to your decision.

Please do not give metrogyl without prescription, one of the side effect of it is abdominal pain and metallic taste. Here is what you should do, look for the signs of dehydration, (for signs of dehydration look my facebook page - pediatric department) if no signs of dehydration give syp zinc, ors and enterogerminia- means probiotic.

That might be a fungal infection. Keep your nipples clean and dry. After cleaning, apply warm coconut oil on the nipples. You can clean the oil before feeding.

My Daughter 19 months old, started high fever for 101 degree two days ago. Consulted Paediatrician and Medication started with P125, Sinarest (both at different time) levolin and Fabilac. But she is getting high fever often with a light shiver, body get high heat but no all over, below abdomen it is chill, it varies in upper body. No Diarrhoea, Vomit (only water) was twice at the time of shiver. Within 2 hours she is normal. PD says it would be there till Friday. But doubt about the high fever but temperature varies, esp head get too high temp and her eyes blinks erratically. Is it a viral fever or anything else.

Generally a viral fever may last upto 4 - 5 days and in rare cases can last upto a week also, keep giving paracetamol evry 4-6 hours so that temperature is under control. If fever goes beyond 4-5 days you can get few blood test done to rule out any bacterial infection, if its bacterial infection, need to start on course of antibiotics which your pd will prescribe accordingly.

Hello, babies born before 37 weeks of gestational age are called pre mature babies. They are, of course, smaller than full term babies, but many are born without their organs having had enough time to fully develop. Some of these babies show obvious disabilities. They need a considerable medical care to survive. Mature babies are born after the completion of 37 weeks of pregnancy. Thanks.

Constitutional Growth Delay.

Children with constitutional growth delay (CGD), the most common cause of short stature and pubertal delay, typically have retarded linear growth within the first 3 years of life. In this variant of normal growth, linear growth velocity and weight gain slows beginning as young as age 3-6 months, resulting in downward crossing of growth percentiles, which often continues until age 2-3 years. At that time, growth resumes at a normal rate, and these children grow either along the lower growth percentiles or beneath the curve but parallel to normal children.

At the expected time of puberty, the height of children with constitutional growth delay begins to drift further from the growth curve because of delay in the onset of the pubertal growth spurt. Catch-up growth, onset of puberty, and pubertal growth spurt occur later than average, resulting in normal adult stature and sexual development. Although constitutional growth delay is a variant of normal growth rather than a disorder, delays in growth and sexual development may contribute to psychological difficulties, warranting treatment for some individuals. Studies have suggested that referral bias is largely responsible for the impression that normal short stature per se is a cause of psycho-social problems; non referred children with short stature do not differ from those with more normal stature in school performance or socialization. A recent study determined that constitutional growth delay was the most common cause of short stature in children.

Now my child is 2 yrs. 6 M, can i admit him in nursery now or next year ?

DMB

Ask Free Question
You can admit in any form of group activity such as a play school or nursery. Advantages of admitting him are development of better communication skills, social skills and confidence building. The negative aspects are repeated coughs and colds, some loose stools, hand foot and mouth disease. The illnesses will all be minor and the influence on development far outweighs the risks. So go ahead, find a clean and safe place for your child.

My daughter is 8 yrs.Her weight is just 21kg.We provide her fruits vegetables every day.But still she could not increase her weight. What measures should we take to increase her weight and brain development. Though she is normal child. Her class progress is satisfactory. Please give me advice.

Her weight is definitely less . What is her height. Have you got her sequential weight and height record or a growth chart. If you can send that, that can help better.
