What is low placenta condition in pregnancy? What should I have precaution about this?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
If the placenta is still lying low in your uterus after you are 20 weeks pregnant, it is called placenta praevia. Even at this stage, the placenta may still move up in time for your baby to be born. By the end of pregnancy, about one in 200 women has placenta praevia to some degree. Most of these are minor cases. If the placenta covers your cervix at the end of your pregnancy, your baby's exit route through your vagina will be blocked. The placenta may be partly covering your cervix (partial placenta praevia) or completely covering it (major placenta praevia).Either way, your baby will need to be born by caesarean section. Some women are more likely to have placenta praevia than others. You are more likely to have the condition if you: have had a caesarean section before or are over 35 yrs of age. You can't do anything to change the position of the placenta. But you can make sure that you stay healthy and well. Eat plenty of nutritious foods, particularly those that are rich in iron. This will reduce your chances of becoming anaemic. If your iron levels are low your doctor or midwife may recommend that you take iron supplements. Having placenta praevia can be worrying for you, particularly if you are waiting to see if your placenta moves up. But there is plenty that can be done to keep you and your baby safe and well.

I am having a PCOD problem, because of this irregular periods. Can you please help me with this? Whether this problem will be cured?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Faridabad
Miss lybrate-user, as you told you have pcod problem. Basically it is due to hormone imbalance. There are number of reasons for that, it is mainly due to faulty food habits and life style. Stress and anxiety are also main cause of hormonal imbalance. So our line of treatment should have to include all these factors too. Our brain has its own biological clock and it work according to that- like -time of hunger, time for bowel clearance etc. So we must follow this clock. Deviation from it leads to number of disease. Do daily walk take your meal on time, so that it is properly digested, nothing is more important than digestion of food. Make sure that your bowel moment is ok. Do yoga and pranayam - asana, kapalbhati is very good in pcod. Tere are lots of ayurvedic medicine which are helpful in it. Consult for proper medication.

It is important you eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and fibres and do regular exercise. Reduce all junk and oily foods .Reduce weight. Whether you need medicines after this will depend on the response to healthy lifestyle measures. You can have plain Isaphgul at night in a glass of water to help with constipation.

Depression in Hindi -

Dear user. To TEST PREGNANCY AT HOME simply add urine to a small piece of soap, if froth forms, or if the soap bubbles up, the test is positive. Mix ¼ cup of tuna juice and ¼ cup of vinegar in a plastic cup. Now pee in a separate cup and then add your urine to this mixture. After a few minutes, if the color changes to green, then you are pregnant. Take care.

I am 25 year old married. We are trying for pregnancy. My period's are not regular. It is 26 29 28 32 and last time it is after 40 days (april 1st). It started not like regular periods. Some brownish type. After 5 days periods become regular and lasts for 7 days. After that there is no periods. On may 9, a small spotting like 2 or 3 drops are came. After that nothing. Next day we do pregnancy test. But negative. Yesterday (may19) also a small spotting. I'm so confused and tensed. Am I pregnant? or any other problem? also I have symptoms like periods from may 4, like stomach pain back pain etc.

Brown discharge between periods will imply the time length and pace of blood within the cervix. In general, the menstrual cycle ranges anywhere between 22 to 34 days and averages at 28 days. Spotting between periods is typically a result of old vaginal blood flow after or before your periods. It occurs after the last day of your menstruation cycle and before the start of your next menstrual cycle. There are some cases of vaginal bleeding in between the period cycle that signals towards a more grievous underlying medical condition. These will require prompt intervention? a brown vaginal discharge instead of a period usually occurs due to late periods? sometimes if the lining is not eliminated, the residual can remain within the uterus for almost a month? in this condition, a woman? s body expels an old uterine lining any queries inform me.

Homeopathy Treatments for Infections

BHMS, MD - Homeopathy
Homeopath, Gurgaon
Homeopathy Treatments for Infections

Infection is generally understood as the invasion into the body tissues by certain foreign bodies, such as bacteria, parasite and virus. They are transmissible diseases and can be transmitted from one person to the other via sneezing, coughing or physical contact. They can be mild, moderate or severe.

  1. They can be acute that is can last for a short time or chronic that lasts for a long time or a latent infection that may not cause any symptoms at first but reactivates and resurfaces over a period of time.
  2. Although each infection has its own distinct symptom, generally these symptoms include fever, swelling, redness, inflammation, burning, cough, diarrhea, fatigue, muscular pain, nausea, vomiting, rapid pulse or rapid breathing.
  3. If the patient has severe headache, difficulty in breathing, painful swelling, and unexplained prolonged fever or cough, he or she should immediately consult a doctor.

Conventional drugs that are given to treat infections like antibiotics, antiviral, antihistamines and steroids have many side effects on the human body . They, on one hand hampers the digestive power of the system and on the other hand lower the immunity power of the body. In the long run, these medicines can have adverse effects on the body. Though conventional drugs suppress the disease for some time, the disease tends to resurface in future.

However, Homeopathy has been found to be a great success in treating both acute and chronic infections. The best part is that, there are no side effects of this treatment and the disease is cured permanently. Homeopathy also boosts our immune system so that the body naturally develops the strength to fight against infections in future, when foreign bodies invade. Homeopathic medicines have also proved to be effective as preventive measures against infections.

Some of the homeopathic medicines for the treatment of most common infections are discussed below:

  1. Throat infections: Belladonna, Lachesis, Lycopodium, Phytolacca, and Mercurius are most commonly administered to cure throat infections.
  2. Skin infection: Common homeopathic remedies are Sulphur, Calendula, Hypericum, Silica, and Hepar sulfuris.
  3. Bladder infection: Berberis, Chimaphila, Hydrastis, Apis, Cantharis, and Sarsaparilla are commonly prescribed.
  4. Stomach infection: Arsenic album, Nux vomica, Carbo veg, Lycopodium, and Pulsatilla are commonly recommended
  5. Sinus infection: Kali bichromicum, Pulsatilla, Mercurius, Natrum muriaticum, and Allium cepa work well in cases of sinus infections.

Note: Although, the names of the medicines have been mentioned here, still it is strongly recommended that no medicine should be consumed without consulting a homeopathic doctor. The  potency and dosage of the medicine will vary from person to person and can only be decided by a trained practitioner.

My gf having periods twice in a month with so much pain & body aching. Her main organ is also sore during that periods. What should she do?

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS

Go for gynec checkup and ultrasound. Take treatment for infection and possibly hormones to regularise the cycle, depending on the diagnosis. She should also go for ca125 blood test to rule out some other problems.
