Hi Doctor We are a newly married couple trying for a baby for almost 3 months. We have not got any positive results so far. We have couple of questions 1. Whenever we have sex my sperm comes out from her. Is this normal or are we doing it wrongly? 2. Do we need to go for checkup? If yes what kind of it? Thanks Balaji.

MBBS, DGO, MD, Fellowship in Gynae Oncology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Hello, 3 months is a very short period to become pregnant. You should try for at least 1 year to conceive naturally. If you are still not able to conceive then consult an infertility specialist and get your hormonal tests done to rule out the cause behind your inability to conceive. For now, consult a gynecologist and get follicular monitoring done and have timely intercourse.

Doctor, I am a type 2 diabetic. My Hba1c was 7.9 during October 2016. I was given inj. Lantus and inj. Victoza. My last periods was on November 27 2016. The pregnancy was confirmed on January 7th 2017. Immediately the insulin was changed. During the confirmation the hba1c was 7.3. Now it's 6.7. I am worried whether inj. Victoza have affected the fetus as it was been changed only after I was conceived.

no effect of insulin does not last this long. your insulin was changed to safer insulin as soon as pregnancy was confirmed. take care about your diet-high protein with lots of greens as vegetables and fruits.

OPTION-72 is bad or good to take after unprotected sex. Is it any bad effect on a woman's health.

MBBS, MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
The emergency contraceptive pill contains hormones. So, it is not advised to be taken after every act of unprotected intercourse. We recommend it only when the couple had tear in her condom while doing the act or after rape.T he periods become irregular after taking these tablets,so we don't recommend them often.

My wife is 2 months 3 days pregnant and she eat food and have vomiting and she has stomach pain is this is common.

B.Sc.(Hons), P.G.Dietetics
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Gurgaon
Hello lybrate-user, It is very common for pregnant women to vomit or have nausea during first 3 -4 months of pregnancy. For few women, vomiting and nausea feeling is throughout the pregnancy also. To deal with this, ask her to have small and frequent meals. She can have small things to eat after every 2 hours. Include fruits, protein foods like milk, paneer, moong dal, eggs or little non-veg in her diet with rice or roti whichever she feels good to eat and digest. She should not eat heavy meals.

Yes definitely there is chance of getting pregnant as she already became pregnant 4 times. You should get hsg test done to find out any issue with the fallopian tubes and then treatment should be started to get pregnant.

Ms. Lybrate-user due to harmonic changes and metabolic changes period always comes irregular. You may follow some regular routines of getting all dietary measures and daily behaviours as well as exercise and yoga and morning walk every day. You may use light diets and soups of carrots and beetroots and green vegetables. Avoid oily or junk food as well as sour products e. G. Pickles etc. And dahi (yogurts). You may follow some ayurveda medicines as bellow. Hemtab. 1 tab twice daily with water after meals. Hempuspa 10ml twice daily with water after meals. Follow regular for 3-6 months. I am 34 years female. I have been married for 16 years. In these years I had 2 miscarriages one in 1999 and another in 2008. I have finished with all my treatments and the reports are normal. I have also done the treatment for blockage of tubes. And it is also normal. But I do not understand y I am not conceiving. My husbands sperm count is 20 million. Please help.

MBBS, DGO, MD, Fellowship in Gynae Oncology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
First thing is, your husband's sperm count is little low. Secondly your age, at this age generally the quantity and quality of egg reduces. Is you are not producing good quality eggs, then it is also a reason you why you are not able to conceiving. Also you had miscarriage twice, so there may be lack of hormonal support or infection or tb etc. So get an hysteroscopy done to rule out pathology of uterus, and amh done. To see no of eggs left in you. And get with reports so that can help you.

THANKS.

Cord around the beck is detected on ultrasound and sometimes it slips also from baby's neck because of movements but even if it remains there then baby can be delivered by cesarean section let your obstretician decide for that at the appropriate time just follow your doctor's instructions nothing to worry if you are aware and careful you can easily handle it
