Try some remedies for joint pain: -ice packs can be used to soothe hot, swollen joints. -heat packs help to relax tense, tired muscles. -splinting of swollen or painful joints may be helpful, a physiotherapist or an occupational therapist (ot) may provide temporary splints for you. -pace yourself: overdoing things can increase your pain, but so can not doing enough. Your physiotherapist can advise you on increasing your activity level at a rate you can cope with and on finding the right balance between rest and activity. -take regular graded exercise: graded exercise starts slowly and increases in small steps. This will help you to strengthen your muscles and joints and increase your fitness. Improving your general fitness and stamina will help you to increase your activity level without increasing your pain. -mobilising, stretching and strengthening: your physiotherapist will assess your muscle strength and the range of movement in your joints, and advise on techniques and exercises so you can keep your joints working as well as possible. My son (26 yrs) has severe pain in back for last 30 hrs. Ultra sound shows 2 stones inside kidney & 1 in track. Kindly advice risk % of kidney damage if it does not come out automatically in a few days. What can be done to expedite the procedure. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem. you must consult a urologist.

Backaches are a common health problem among middle-aged and elderly people, but at times young people also suffer from it. Some of the symptoms of a backache are pain in the back or around the hips, reduced flexibility of the spine and difficulty sleeping. Backaches can occur for many reasons such as muscle tension, improper diet, lack of physical activity, arthritis, excessive physical labor, poor sitting posture and pregnancy. A backache can make it difficult to carry out day-to-day activities. Natural treatments can provide quick relief from the pain and allow you to enjoy life again. Here are the top 10 home remedies for backache. 1. Ginger Ginger root, which is used to cure vomiting, can also be used in the treatment of back pain. The anti-inflammatory compounds in ginger can give you relief from a backache. Apply some ginger paste on the affected area, followed by eucalyptus oil.Cut thin slices of fresh ginger root and put them in a pan of boiling water. Simmer and boil it on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature and strain it. Add honey and then drink it. You can drink this ginger tea two or three times a day for a few days or until you see improvement.You can also make an herbal tea with one-half teaspoon of black pepper corns, one-half teaspoon of cloves and one teaspoon of ginger powder. 2. Basil Leaves Basil leaves can also come to your rescue when suffering from a backache. Add 8 to 10 basil leaves to one cup of water and boil it until the water evaporates to half.Let it cool to room temperature and then add a pinch of salt.For mild pain, drink this concoction once daily; for severe pain, drink it twice daily. 3. Poppy Seeds Poppy seeds work wonders as remedy of backache. Grind together 100 gm each of poppy seeds (khus khus) and rock candy (misri).Consume two teaspoons of this mixture twice daily, followed by a glass of milk. 4. Herbal Oil Massaging your back with an herbal oil can help your muscles relax and relieve pain. You can use any herbal oil such as eucalyptus oil, almond oil, olive oil or coconut oil. Heat the oil until warm and massage it gently over the aching area. 5. Garlic Garlic is another ingredient that can help treat a backache. Simply eat two to three cloves of garlic every morning on empty stomach. You can also massage your back with garlic oil. To make garlic oil, heat some coconut oil, mustard oil or sesame oil on low heat and then add 8 to 10 cloves of garlic to it. Fry the garlic until it is brown. Strain the oil and let it cool to room temperature.Massage your back gently with the oil. Leave it on for some time and then take a bath in warm water. 6. Wheat Wheat has compounds that produce an analgesic effect that can help minimize pain. Soak a handful of wheat in water overnight.In the morning, mix in cuscus grass powder and coriander. Then add one cup of milk and boil it for a few minutes until it thickens.Drink the mixture twice daily. 7. Ice Packs Cold compresses made with ice are effective in reducing pain and swelling. If ice is not available, you can also use a bag of frozen vegetables. Put a bowl of crushed ice in a plastic bag and wrap it in a towel. Put the compress on the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes.Do this repeatedly, waiting half an hour between each application. You can also apply hot compresses to reduce backache. 8. Epsom Salt Epsom salt can ease pain and relieve inflammation. Mix Epsom salt with hot water to make a thick paste. Soak a towel in it and ring out any excess liquid from the towel. Put it on your back near and around the aching area. The heat from the towel will also reduce anyswelling.You can also add two cups of Epsom salt to your bathwater and soak your body in it for half an hour. 9. Chamomile Tea A hot cup of chamomile tea will help relax tense muscle tissues that can be the cause or a related symptom of a backache. You can buy pre-packaged chamomile tea or make your own. Add one tablespoon of chamomile flowers to one cup of boiling water and let it steep for 10 minutes.Drink one to three cups daily. 10. Milk Milk is a rich source of calcium that your body needs for strong bones and healthy muscles. Ensuring that your body gets an adequate amount of calcium can help alleviate and prevent backaches. Drink milk regularly. You can add some honey to sweeten it.You can also make a mixture of cuscus grass and sugar in equal amounts and consume it twice daily with a cup of warm milk. Ayurvedic management of Ankylosing Spondylitis

Ayurveda believes it as a vitiated vata disease. Aama generated from the stomach blocks the way of vata. Hence vata is accumulated and blocked in specific areas of body and its most favorite sites are the joints of body. The blocked vata creates sharp pain with swelling and inability to move speedily. There are procedures like kizhi, abhyangam, vasti, pizhichhil and may others that help to balance vitiated vata dosha and eradicate the disease permanently. Avoid sour and spicy food like curd, tamarind. Regularize your eating habits. Do not drink water with meals.
Initial treatment requires around 45 - 60 days of panchakarma therapy along with internal medicines and diet, life style modification. After this phase only internal medicines are continued.

You might be suffering from coccydynia.In this condition there is inflammation of tailbone (coccyx) making it difficult to sit on butt and sleeping on back. Generally coccydynia will resolve with conservative treatment as mentioned below. In severe cases an injection called Ganglion Impar block might be needed. This is done by a Pain specialist in operation theatre under X Ray guidance to locate the accurate pain transmitting nerve. 1. Take anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen round the clock for pain relief and decreasing the inflammation for few days. 2. Sitting on specially designed gel-filled cushions can reduce pain when you are sitting down. 3.You can also lean forward in your seat and rest your arms in front of you on a flat surface. 4. Clothing such as tight jeans or trousers, may make your coccydynia worse. 5. It can also help to wear flat, comfortable shoes. 6. Patients with coccydynia find sleeping on their sides most comfortable. If you have severe pain, you may sleep on your front. You could also try sleeping with a pillow or cushion between your knees. 7. Warm and cold packs – applying either a warm or cold pack to the base of your spine.

I have severe lower back pain. I cant bend nor do any work as it pains a lot. This has been going on since 3 weeks now. Took medicines but no effect. I also get bad catch on my legs behind my knees on calf if I stretch my legs. It gives me a lot of pain. Feeling sick all the time causing headaches too. Pl help me get rid of this n lead a normal life as before.

Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If no relief in 4_5 days, then inform again.

Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day. Avoid junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Tea. Alcohol. Avoid alcohol consumption. Do pranayama early morning.

Hello lybrate-user, generally shoulder pain is secondary to some muscle spasm or a ligament sprain of associated with history of trauma. I would recommend shoulder range of motion exercises and pendulum exercises along with hot pack fomentation. Thank you.

L stretching ilio psos muscles ki stretching kijiye sweelings ho to ice pack kijiye or sweeling nhi ho to hot pack ka use ap kijiye. Heel track kijiye… weight cuff 1-2kg use kijiye or leg exercise kijitye hips up nd down exercise kijiye…. Walking kijiye phle edii rakiye fir panjaa rakijiye 6-9 kaadaam chalet huye apni walking ki capacity incress kijiye daily 1000 kaadaam ap chaliye …deep breath lijiye pani jada se jada pijiye ……. Long sitting, standing, clambing avoide kijiye I hope ap jaldi ache ho jayege thnx.

Hi My problem is heart is paining upper side middle side lower side and back side at least 4 months and I am check on dtd. April .16 lipid profile . Normal report ECHO. Normal Report TMT. Normal Report ECG . On dtd 25. July.2016 Normal report MRI. C3. 4.5.6 and 7 nurvse roots r mild diffuse please advise this is heart related issue or a cerival problem please reply.

My problem is heart is paining upper side middle side lower side and back side at least 4 months and I am check on...
When all the reports related to heart are normal it is less likely to be cardiac. The cervical x ray shows involvement of nerve roots supplying areas on chest, back, shoulders, axilla etc hence the pain is most likely to be neuaralgia. Stretch your neck and avoid forward bending of neck. If needed a cervical collar may be used to prevent forward bending of neck. Do not use pillows below head and do not sit in or lie down in abnormal postures in sofas while viewing television. This will definitely help in reducing your pain.
