Hi. No there ia no problem to gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

Low blood pressure (hypotension) can occur in anyone, though certain types of low blood pressure are more common depending on your age or other factors: Age. Drops in blood pressure on standing or after eating occur primarily in adults older than 65. Diet For Better Heart Health

BHMS

A proper diet is very essential to ensure heart health.
Eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Vegetable soups and salads are a good way to include vegetables in your diet. When you feel the urge to snack, choose a piece of fruit or sticks of broccoli, radish, and carrots. A dessert of stewed fruits is also delicious but nutritious. Add chopped fruits in your yogurt.
Cut down on fats. Saturated fats are the enemies of the heart. Stay away from fried stuff, especially deep fried foods. Switch to fat-free or fewer fats methods. Bake, roast, grill, boil, steam or poach.
Use a non-stick pan for frying and use a healthy oil like olive oil. If the food is too dry, add moisture by adding a little fresh lemon juice which will also help to enhance the flavor.
Change over to low fat foods. Switch over to skimmed milk instead of whole milk. Go for low-fat yogurts, cheeses, and spreads.
Avoid red meat which has a higher fat content. Switch to skinless chicken. Fish is rich in omega 3 fatty acids which are good fat. Try and include fish in your diet, once or twice a week.
Include plenty of fiber in your diet. Fiber helps in reducing cholesterol.
Reduce your consumption of sugar. Cakes, cookies and candies which contain too many calories lead to obesity. This increases your chances of heart disease.
Cut down your consumption of alcohol.

I am 59 years old and diabetic since last 2 years, my blood sugar readings are 241 BBF & 289 PD, I have tried alopathy as well as Ayurved, but the readings are not coming down even after following the recommended medication, exercise and diet plans. What could be going wrong? I work in a highly challenging and high pressure environment and have also have to commute in crowded trains. Please advise.

There is no reason why your blood sugar cannot be controlled. You've been having DM since just 2 years. There needs to be a concerted attempt to adjust your diet, exercise and take the right medicines. You should consult your physician regularly.

Hello dear High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. Garlic,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines . Cap. Ecosprin gold-10 at night daily.

We need to make sure that you are adequately rehydrated and also start with Tablet folvite 5mg once a day for six months and tablet vitamin D3 60000iu once a week for six months

I am a 52 year old female. I am on medication for vitamin d deficiency and for keeping cholesterol and sugar at bay. Regular with medicines, I am trying to exercise/ walk etc regularly and have lost 2.5 kg in the last 45 days. I need to lose at least 12 more kgs. My worries comes from the fact that since last week, my legs have started to pain. A lot at night and when I switch postures. What could the reason be? I am literally dragging my left leg as I walk and the doctor I consult has just changed the medicine for calcium and has started me on multivitamis too. Do I need to meet a specialist, or is this how treatment works, taking this much time? why would the symptoms recur despite medicines? my patience and threshold of tolerating pain are challenged right now. Kindly help.

You are right by saying that you need to loose about 12 more kg weight as your bmi is30.14kg/m2 (23kg/m2 is normal). It will be good if you inform me about your fasting, pp blood sugar levels, hba1c level and lipid profile. The pain that you experience does it come on walking for some distance and if you rest does it subside? which part of the leg pains? knee joint, calf muscle or the whole lower limb? I suggest it would be better you meet a vascular surgeon to rule out any problem with leg blood supply. A colour doppler test may help. Vitamin d and calcium, multivitamins can be continued. But it is better to get the expert opinion.
