Can High Cholesterol Lead To Diabetes?

When was the last time you checked your cholesterol levels?
Are you one of the many who do not get a regular health check up unless a medical condition necessitates it?
Well, if you are, you may be putting you are jeopardising your own health. This is because some diseases do not have overt physical signs or symptoms to warn you in time. One such condition is high cholesterol.
High cholesterol implies high level of bad LDL cholesterol in your body. It does not cause any physical symptoms. So, you are less likely to identify it till you get yourself tested for it.
Having high LDL cholesterol puts at risk for developing many other ailments. It is basically a silent killer disease.
What are the complications of high LDL cholesterol?
Well, high amounts of LDL cholesterol in your arteries can result in a number of complications. This happens because the plaque deposits inside your arteries and narrows them down. It makes less amount of blood to pass through these blocked arteries which may cause:
-Strokes
-Heart attack
-High blood pressure
-Chest pain or angina
-Chronic kidney disease
Can high cholesterol cause diabetes?
Diabetes is often associated with high cholesterol condition. High LDL cholesterol does not cause diabetes. In fact it’s the diabetes or insulin resistance that hikes up bad cholesterol in your body. High levels of insulin in your blood increase triglycerides and cholesterol.
High cholesterol happens when the sugar sticks onto the low density lipoprotein and it stays in our bloodstream for longer. These sticky plaques are very hard to remove and block your arteries. This leads to even greater damage from LDL cholesterol in comparison to LDL cholesterol without diabetes.
People with diabetes are more prone to high cholesterol. This is because diabetes lowers your good cholesterol known as HDL or high density lipoprotein and increases triglycerides as well as bad LDL cholesterol levels. This gets really dangerous for your health as it hikes your risk for getting a heart attack or a stroke. So, though diabetes and high cholesterol are inter-related, high cholesterol is the effect of diabetes.
If you are diabetic or pre diabetic, make sure your blood sugar levels are under check. It will prevent the further complication of having high cholesterol levels.
How to manage high cholesterol?
-The best way to manage high cholesterol is by taking appropriate medicines and improving your lifestyle by consuming a healthy diet full of fibre and nutrients and exercising daily.
-Keeping your blood sugar levels in check will also prevent LDL cholesterol levels from rising.
-Elevate good HDL cholesterol levels. Your bad cholesterol and triglycerides will automatically come down.

Hello, you should app, y contractubex cream regularly on the mark for at, east 8 weeks. Continue using it if it has shown any improvement. Otherwise, you can get a surgical or laser scar removal treatment.

I am suffering from dry cough from the Last 2 weeks and I have chest pain whenever I cough hard. Can you suggest what should be done?

Cough at your age which is dry 95% of cases is either due to viral fever which sometimes affect your upper airways or throat or nose or due to allergic cough as you are an allergic person or you have developed what we call post viral infection allergic bronchitis. Both will go away on its own. You cough with your chest muscles and they under go sprain with constant cough. To suppress your cough any cough suppressant across the counter is as good as natural remedies like throat lozenges; warm saline gargle, etc. Do not smoke. For you chest pain hot water bath and hot fomentation is as good as paracetamol tablet. Doing nothing for your viral fever induced cough is also ok. But for allergic cough consult if it persists for a few weeks. If cough is bothersome do consult to rule out any 5% major problem and also for your peace of mind. You should be ok.

To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2. Eat healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your daily food intake should ideally consist of nuts, dry fruits, seeds, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. 3. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. 5. Supplementation. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. 6. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow the regimen of weight gain religiously and you will soon start seeing the results.

1) do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) start natural calcium supplement. 3) do regular stretching exercise 4) in yoga do bhujangasan, halasan & suryanamaskar. Life-style correction 1) correct your sitting posture. 2) take small pillow or back rest for lower back. 3) foot should rest to floor easily. 4) take small break after 1 hr & walk few steps. 5) do neck & upper back extension, give feedback after 4 days. Dark circles can be due to excessive straining of eyes, lack of sleep or even deficiency of iron etc. Use sunglasses while out in sun, do not rub your eyes, splash cold water frequently. Have vit c rich foods (fresh orange sweet lime juice), pomegranate juice (for iron), 8 - 12 glasses of water. Many treatment options are availble for clearing dark circles a proper evaluation of underlying causes and skin type would be required before taking any oral medicines or treatment.

To control & maintain BP normal these are best methods to follow:.• Do physical exercise like jogging, running or brisk walk for atleast 20-30 minutes. • Maintain your cholesterol level to normal & eat least amount of butter, cream or fatty things. • Eat less amount of pickle, salt and fast food as they contain high sodium levels. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of caffine containing coffee, tea or cold drinks because caffine causes increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily • Take 6 to 8 hrs of sleep daily. Do not take too much stress. • Do long breathing pranayams (Anulom- Vilom, Bhramari) daily for 10 - 15 minutes. It will reduce your stress level in your body. • Eat healthy diet such as green leafy vegetables, fruits. • Take 5 ml of GULAB Jal added in a glass of water daily once a day.

Hi, There are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently. mangoes banana sapota jackfruit are of high glycemic index should be avoided. citrus fruits should be avoided in pt of associated kidney disease.

Your problem is of constipation. You should have plenty of water and cremaffin plus daily. Life style changes has to be adopted which may help you. Avoid tea/coffee alcohol, smoking spicy food. Life style changes and food habbits can solve your problem easily. Chew your food properly. Avoid outside food. Walk about 3-5 kms daily. There should be gap of 2hrs after dinner and sleep. Small and frequent meals is of help. Keep your blood sugar controlled. Raise your bed about 4" from headend side. Get your gastroendoscopy done.
