I am a 52 year old woman, pure vegetarian (no onion, no garlic, no eggs too), 5"5" tall and weighing 70 kgs. I suffer from acidity so following a diet that excludes grains is almost impossible. Please let me know what is the ideal diet for me. Thanks!

First you need to get your self examined if acidity is severe. You may require upper gi endoscopy. Regarding diet avoid spicy and oily food.

How can I cure permanently diabetes mellitus from my body blood glucose level and the blood acidity. Is there any risk of heart attack for obesity, how can I get rid of this?

Mr. Lybrate-user, diabetes mellitus can only be controlled by appropriate medicines, proper diet (restricted diet) and regular exercise. If blood sugar is not kept in control (fasting closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <6.8.), then there is a definite possibility of serious long term complications in relation to eyes (retina), kidney, lower limbs, peripheral nerves and heart. Yes there is an increased risk of heart attacks in uncontrolled diabetes patients. Another important thing our blood ph is in the range of 7.33 to 7.45 which is slightly alkaline. Our blood always remains in this range. There no blood acidity.

I'm 28 year old. My bilirubin is always higher than normal values. Doctor telling Gilbert syndrome. What it is.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
I'm 28 year old. My bilirubin is always higher than normal values. Doctor telling Gilbert syndrome. What it is.
Gilbert’s syndrome is a common and harmless condition, where high levels of a substance called bilirubin build up in the blood. Bilirubin is a yellow pigment found naturally in the blood, which forms when red blood cells are broken down. Symptoms of Gilbert's syndrome Most people with Gilbert's syndrome will experience occasional and short-lived episodes of jaundice. This is when the skin and whites of the eyes turn slightly yellow. Some people also report other problems during episodes of jaundice, including: abdominal (tummy) pain feeling very tired (fatigue) loss of appetite feeling sick dizziness irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) – a common condition that causes stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation problems concentrating and thinking clearly (brain fog) a general sense of feeling unwell However, these problems are not thought to be directly related to increased bilirubin levels, and could mean you have another condition other than Gilbert’s syndrome. Around one in three people with Gilbert’s syndrome experience no noticeable symptoms, and you may not realise you have it until tests for an unrelated condition are carried out.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. In a patient with diabetes, fatty liver does occur, particularly if patient is overweight. Non alcoholic fatty liver is a fairly common condition. In that liver enzymes are raised. If you have any doubts please do come back. Thanks.

MBBS
General Physician,
I have rashes on my skin over 3months and also I am suffering from digestive problem which medicine I have to use?
Both these symptoms may be due to infestation of intestinal parasites like hook warms, round warms, tape warms. Normally one should get dewarming done at least once a year if not six monthly. It is a single dose medication like albendazole or mebendazole. So get it done in consultation with a doctor near your locality.

I had burning sensation around my rectum, but recently I observed swelling near the end of my anus associated with pain, though I don't see any blood or pus. It is embarrassing to show to a Dr. Hence, requesting a remedy to this. Can't it be cured through medication. Is surgery a mandate? please guide.

Hello, The anal swelling is likely to be a hemorrhoidal swelling and would need a local examination. if it is coming from inside anal canal then its a haemorrhoid else its likely to be a folliculitis lesion with pus formation causing pain.
