Hy, my father used to apply skintight cream on his face before 4 years for 1 year. And because of that cream, his skin had got burned and some portion had got burned or a too much dark spot had created in it. Whenever he takes the alopathic medicines, his face recovers but after stopping that, his skins again became the same. What remedies he should do for his recovery because it looks very dark. Please suggest some remedies for it to recover.

If those alopathic medicines are working well for him, he should not stop taking them. Continue the medicines whenever this happens. It is difficult to find another remedy for a reaction with a cream used four years back, it will be the best to take the same medication to avoid further reactions and allergies.

Drug Induced Skin Pigmentation - What Causes It?

Drug Induced Skin Pigmentation - What Causes It?

Drug related pigmentation errors are usually characterized by a topographic distribution and can lead to prominent discoloration in areas that are especially affected by the sun. It is a rather common phenomenon and accounts for a startling 10-20% of the total cases of hyperpigmentation that are acquired. The condition might be induced by drugs of varied nature, ranging from non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications or NSAIDs and antipsychotic drugs to phenytoin and anti-malarials.

What can lead to it?
A number of causes tend to contribute to this factor by speeding up the process of pigmentation that isn’t natural or expected in any manner whatsoever:

  • Certain drugs happen to react with the melanin of your system to form what is observed to be a drug-pigment complex. Exposure to too much sunlight has a way of stimulating sun-induced synthesis of melanin for the formation of such complexes.
  • Quite a number of heavy metals are seen to deposit in the dermal region following significant damage to the patient’s dermal vessels. A visible change in the complexion will then be observed without there being any increment in the melanin component.
  • Hypermelanosis might be induced by certain other drugs in the form of changes that are non-specific post-inflammatory in essentially predisposed individuals.
  • Some drugs tend to induce or trigger pigmentation directly by the accumulation of or reaction with certain specific substance of the patient’s skin.

Treatment
Despite the fact that the condition of drug-induced pigmentation of the skin is mostly benign, it might prove to be an otherwise disfiguring factor when perceived cosmetically. In most cases, one may observe that once the affecting drug has been terminated from regular dosages, fading of most lesions will occur. However, in most cases, the pigmentation tends to last for a longer span of time and ultimately becomes permanent. Since most drugs and medications that cause skin pigmentation also happen to be the cause of photosensitivity reactions, patients are recommended to make proper use of sun protection. You may also opt for laser treatments that have been developed in recent years to correct the problem of pigmentation.

Sudden gain or loss in weight, rapid growth, heredity factors, stress and changes in physical conditions leads to stretch marks. Stretch marks happen after delivery too. Stretch marks can make you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable about your appearance. But, don't worry, there are several natural ways to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The stretch marks fade away with time. 1. Try to scrub the area daily and put vitamin e oil 2. You can also apply some castor oil to the stretch marks and gently massage the area in circular motions for 5 to 10 minutes 3. Use aloe vera gel on the area once a day 4. Use rich cocoa butter before going.

Topical creams won't do any good alone. This is deposition of protein. You need to do Ama pachan and also need to consume pitta pacifying herbs. I advise you to get your prakruti analysis done before going for any medication.

I'm facing hair root follicle infection in lower leg which repeats after 3 months of treatment in same place after it...
You are getting the infection again and again due to some reasons, which you have to figure if are applicable in your case - 1. You may get folliculitis if you have damaged hair follicles. 2. Shaving or wearing clothes that rub the skin can irritate the follicles, which can lead to folliculitis. 3. They also can become blocked or irritated by sweat, machine oils, or makeup. When the follicles are injured, they are more likely to become infected. 4. Have an infected cut, scrape, or surgical wound. The bacteria or fungi can spread to nearby hair follicles. 5. Have a disease such as diabetes that lowers your ability to fight infection. My advise to you - wear lose clothes wash with antibacterial soap daily as soon as you see an infection is developing, apply clotrimazole.

Multiple Lipomas in body. Got a few extracted through surgery. But they keep growing.

MBBS Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MD - Dermatology, Venerology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Mohali
Multiple Lipomas in body. Got a few extracted through surgery. But they keep growing.
Hi Thank you posting your concern Lipoma is a benign tumor of fat cells and usually presents as asymptomatic/ painless, soft/rubbery swellings which slip under the fingers when pressed. It is the most common benign form of soft tissue tumor. Multiple lipomas are common. Lipomas are usually small (under one centimeter diameter), remain the same size over years or grow very slowly. Usually, treatment of a lipoma is not necessary, unless the tumor becomes painful or restricts movement or becomes unsightly or bothersome. I would advice you to just observe them over time. If a particular lipoma becomes painful or becomes a cosmetic concern for you or restrict you in some way, then you can go for surgical removal of only that particular lipoma. There are no medicines available to stall the growth. Hope this helps In case of further query you can discuss on my page regards.

Ringworm of groin is also known as tinea cruris or jock itch . It causes raised red sores with marked edges. This type of ringworm can spread to the buttocks, Inner thigh and external genitilia. Fungal infections of skin are the most common of all and are effectively treated with homoeopathy. This disease is more common in hot and moist weather and is more frequently seen in people who keep their feet enclosed in shoes or socks most of the time, (Athlete’s foot). It has been a widely acknowledged fact that homoeopathy can treat this condition effectively and without any side effects. Tips- Dry your genital area and inner thighs thoroughly with a clean towel after showering or exercising. Use powder around your groin area to prevent excess moisture. Wear clean clothes. Change your underwear at least once a day or more often if you sweat a lot. you can Consult me for homoepathic treatment without side effects
