Hi * stop running completely or decrease your training. *apply ice to reduce inflammation. *gently stretch your achilles and your calves. *consider cross-training for a while swim, run in the pool or ride a bike. *when you return to running, increase your mileage slowly, no more than 10 percent weekly. *make sure you wear the correct running shoes do reply for detailed treatment plan. Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

I am 21 years old I had a habit of cracking joints in knees shoulder elbow and more joints for almost 10 years. Now I have understand the consequence and not doing it. But whenever I move my body joints crack itself. Some saying its due to loss of synovial fluid. There is no pain when it pops. Please help me overcome this situation. Hello Lybrate user it may be due to slip disc problem. So first of all go to a physician and take opinion for MRI. If you are diagnosed with slip disc than take ayurvedic and pancbkarma therapy to cure it.

I have a problem in my elbow there is a pane in it please surest me exercise things please it is recommended.

Mostly pain in elbow is due to strained or inflamed soft tissues like tendon. There are many other reasons why pain in elbow occurs so to rule out the exact cause you need to go for proper investigation. Pain in elbow is common complain of players or housewives. After looking to your pain I would recommed you for some care that you can take at home. If possible visit some physio who can give you several mdalities like US, IFT etc to cure the pain. Along with it we have a special program designed in case of elbow pain (tennis or golfer’s elbow) like PNF, Hold Relax etc just to get relief from pain. Precautions: 1. Avoid weight lifting. 2. Avoid doing twisting moments like supination-pronation which usally is done while playing badmitton or while washing clothes. 3. Give rest to your work for some days. 4. Wear forearm band to rest your muscles. 5. Avoid bending your elbow into positions that cause the symptoms. Treatment: 1. Give rest to your elbow. 2. Ice and hot pack combo. Apply ice for 3 min and then hot for 2 min. There is very good result of both applications together. 3. Massage using your 2 fingers over the painful area. 4. Exercises: A) Palm lifting B) Elbow up and down in gravity eliminated position C) Strengthening of elbow muscles. These you can do at home. For any query please inform Good Luck and Get Well soon.

1.At night massage the heel with sahacharadi taila and then dip them into luke warm salt water for atleast 5-10 mins then clean the heel and again apply the sahacharadi taila on it Massage it and sleep 2.Kaishor guggulu-2 tablets-3 times a day 3.Gokshuradi guggulu-2 tablets-3 times a day.

Initially pain in the heals. After consulting, the doctor prescribed injection to cure of fluids in the heal. But there is a swelling in ankle above the heal and the leg pains when walking .This is there since June 2016 without permanent cure. Will be of great help if you reply. My age is 58 and am female. This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. It looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Back pain / Sciatica: If you have low back pain and sciatica you can undergo intermittent pelvic traction where in your half of your body weight will be added in the electronic traction so that that would help you to reduce the pain, along with Interferential therapy stimulations which would help you to get relieved from the radiating pain. Apply ice for the pain to get subsided immediately. If you cannot go immediately for the physiotherapy treatment. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear Lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear MCR chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back.

You can be having lax ligamentary supports at your pelvic bones or inflammatory changes in joints called si joint. Get it checked with pain physician.

Dear lybrate user, backache after 2 hours of sitting signifies either of 2 condition. First which is more likely is due to disc herniation, where sitting leads to increase in pressure at nucleus pulposus of disc, causing irritation of nerve of this material and hence pain or second which is less likely is facetal arthritis caused due to loading of posterior compartment of spine during sitting. In any of 2 condition you need to consult either orthopedician trained in spine or interventional pain specialist for clinical evaluation and appropriate treatment. Hope it helps.

Diabetes affects all organs in the body ? Eyes, kidneys, nerves, reproductive system all are affected, In fact, from toe to hair. For diabetic control, patient should be under proper guidance for regular follow up and advice. It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose ? SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & lifestyle.

Kindly show me a photograph & digital x rays of affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Give rest to your leg and apply hot water fomentation. Once pain subsides do regular stretching of leg. If you don't get relief in 2-3 days consult physiotherapist for clinical examination.
