Sir, I have slip disc problem in L5S1 two years back. I consulted a neurologist and was checked. MRI was also done. I am regularly taking physiotherapy and doing exercises prescribed by the physiotherapist. But minor pain still persists in my back left side and I use back pad for the safety while travelling and working. Can you please suggest me some good exercises and precaution methods to take care of my back. I shall be thankful and grateful to you. My age is 40 years. I drive two wheeler occasionally, whether it is safe, please guide me. Any more suggestions from your side will be highly appreciated. Thanks and Regards.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it doe s not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference?

If your bone tb is healed and knee movements are full, the pain could be because of low vitamin d levels or elevated uric acid levels, get these blood tests done fasting and revert back with reports.

Need to see your X-rays. Kindly post them. Meanwhile don't keep leg in dependent position for long as it may enhance swelling in feet.

He has frequent lower back catch. We already consulted an orthopedic doctor, he has recommended a routine exercise and had stated nothing serious. Surely, he has never been doing the exercise but when he is in pain he is unable to move or walk. Heat or cold pack works wonder but I'm worried. Need help ! Regards.

dear lybrate user its good to hear that you see the right & effective results of physiotherapy treatment.As you have well known about erb's palsy now.it takes time to strength up the weak muscle which have already partial paralized or total wasting of muscle. My advice is to continue physiotherapy untill you got successful results.

I am 65 years, since 3months suffering with frozen shoulder, first 2 months consulted ortho n took medicine but no relief, then took 20 days physiotherapy. Now also unable lift my hand, if I do small exercise also getting pain. Using hot pack also, no diabetes n bp. Hw long it will be cured ?

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain.

Suggested you should control your sugar nd bp. In addition if you r overweight try nd reduce it. Do some quadriceps strengthening exe. Roll a towel put it under your knee. Lie down straight. Press the roll of towel under your knee with knee hold it for 20 sec. Repeat it 15 times. Twice a day.

Stretching your body for few minutes every hr or two. Light Yoga , deep breathing, meditation for few minutes in the morning preferable. Light food, daliya, khichri etc and hot water drink boiled with Ajwain. Once a week massage body with Mahanarayan oil. Bath with hot water after two hrs. Dear user, first you should avoid lifting the weight objects.. sleeping position should lying straight or abdomen don't on sideways.. don't eat flatulant food like potato, spicy foods.. take homeopathic remedy arnica30 thrice daily for one week.. it will reduce your pain.. further clarification msg me

Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.
