HI, We got married last December (2014) & ours is a love marriage with parents consent. My wife's age is 21 & myself 25. My wife hardly knows any work, but my mom & I tries to teach every work her very softly. If we show more love & affection and teach politely she turns into non-hearing mode, which means she starts to dominate us & dont learn/work at all. If I start to show some anger she starts to cry & start to learn/work. But I do not want her to have pain while she learn the work. Neither we want to see dominance from her. What is the best way to go forward. We use to love a lot & care for each other before marriage. Still now we love & care each other when things are fine. When things are worst it goes to extreme extent of thinking why did we marry each other. Kindly suggest your opinion. We want to lead a happy life together & forever with my wife learning all the work with out any pain. I cannot see anyone pointing at my wife for not knowing basic house hold activities.

You sound like a very reasonable chap and this girl is blessed that she has found a husband like you. Now this peculiar behavior of your wife may be some of the effects of her upbringing. So do not become too harsh on her, and I like that you do not want her to go through pain to learn all the household chores. So I advise you to sit down and have a talk to her and tell her what you have conveyed to me. If she is spoken to and made to understand where you are coming from I am sure she will be able to comply. Sometimes she may have this fear that once she shows she is capable of doing work that she might be dumped with all the work over time. Now you need to give her that assurance that this will not happen, ever. In the first two years of your marriage there will be a power struggle to establish who wears the pants in the house! There is an establishment of who is the final authority between you two. Of course being in your own house gives you some advantage. However this need not become a struggle if you two play complimentary roles i.e. where she is good you play a supportive role and where you are dominant she has to compliment you. This will remove the power struggle. It is very important to sustain the love you both enjoyed before marriage: never talk about any regret at all and ever. Love needs to be worked upon for the rest of your lives. It is too precious to be dismissed under stressful circumstances so easily. And don?t ever worry about what people will say about your wife: what you say and do about her is important. Love her and share with her your expectations and find out her difficulties and if there is any need to meet with a counselor please do not hesitate to ideally nip these issues in the bud and get on with your lovely life. If it will help you can share this response with her and start the ball rolling.

You will need a evaluation for a depressive/ anxiety spectrum disorder. If this occurs once in a while it is okay, but if it is a regular feature an evaluation will be needed. I think there is no harm in getting a consultation because there is much to lose if it turns out that you do have a problem. So, please do not delay and meet an expert in your town. Take care!

I am 26 years old. My hairs are turning into grays since 2010. I tried mahabhrungraj oil for 3 months but it couldn't help. I wants to stop the graying of hairs. So please suggest some remedy. It is possible to turn the grays into black again? If yes then how? Does oil massage for 6 to 8 months make any effect? I heard that Eating black sesame seeds will help to turn greys black again? Is it true? Please help. I never smoke. I am a vegetarian. I don't eat salty or fast food. But from past few years I usually sleeps at late nights. Please help.

Hi there ~ trying the remedies that you suggest might be helpful, however if stress and lack of sleep/sleep cycle difficulties is the cause then book an appointment with me so that I can try to help with medications. I am glad you do not smoke as it can add to early graying and being vegetarian has nothing to do with premature graying. Using over the counter multivitamin multimineral medications may be helpful and I can suggest some as well. I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day! sincerely

I am I CA student and I am preparing for my exams now, now a days I am feeling very sleepy. I could not even concentrate for 1 hour continuously. I have already given up mobile and listening to music which was a good booster for me. Now I feel very depressed and I don't know how I have self generated a fear of failure. Please help me. I take a cup of coffee daily, a strong one. I do exercise daily but it isn't working. please help me with some suggestions to concentrate. Should I take the memory tonics available in the market.

Yes, you can go for memory tonics. Apart from that, try to meditate for 15 minutes daily in the morning and evening. Also, do not completely avoid music, you can hear it from time to time. Try concentration exercises like: take a book or a magazine and count the number of words in a single paragraph. Count them again to ensure that you have counted correctly. You can start off with one paragraph and as you get used to it, move on to counting words in two paragraphs. Then move on to counting words on the whole page. Make sure that you perform the counting mentally and only with your eyes without pointing your finger at each word. This is one of the simplest brain exercises to improve concentration. Select an inspiring word or just a simple sound and think about it in your mind, repeating it in your mind for 5 minutes. Once your mind has begun to concentrate on it easily, move on to 10 minutes of uninterrupted concentration. When you start feeling drained out just tell yourself 5 more pages and stay with the book.

Very easy to reduce your body waight. First take strong decision on it. Daily look your physic in mirror get feeling slim, while eat something keep in your mind you want to became slim love it your feeling. Freqently chec your whight. Memory can increase by interest only. Medications wont work. Read and write, recall can help to increase memory.

Hi lybrate-user user Scary thoughts are a complex anxiety symptoms and it creates enormous amount of anxiety. There are some steps you can take to help break the cycle of scary thoughts-- Take a few times throughout the day where you can seat comfortably and visualize your scary thought in a less threatening way. You can use humour to downplay those thoughts to less threatening thoughts. Use self - talk that reassures you that you would never carry out the thoughts you think. Try to remind yourself that it's Okay that those thoughts are there don't resist them but try to accept them as just Thoughts, and nothing more. They can't hurt you. Daily meditation is very helpful for you. If you try and work hard you can feel comfortable again in your mind. Thanks.

Your answer is from your question. Smoking is very harmful. You can stop it with your inner will power & determination. But nicotex is good. Use this with help of your family doctor. As there should be regular decrease of this medicine. No side effect of nicotex. You can do any type of exercise after quiting smoking. Even better that present time. Have some patience. Hi lybrate-user, Its fine, do not get so bothered. Practice The primary goal of mindful breathing is simply a calm, nonjudging awareness, allowing thoughts and feelings to come and go without getting caught up in them. Sit comfortably, with your eyes closed and your spine reasonably straight. Bring your attention to your breathing. Imagine that you have a balloon in your tummy. Every time you breathe in, the balloon inflates. Each time you breathe out, the balloon deflates. Notice the sensations in your abdomen as the balloon inflates and deflates. Your abdomen rising with the in-breath, and falling with the out-breath. Thoughts will come into your mind, and that’s okay, because that’s just what the human mind does. Simply notice those thoughts, then bring your attention back to your breathing. Likewise, you can notice sounds, physical feelings, and emotions, and again, just bring your attention back to your breathing. You don’t have to follow those thoughts or feelings, don’t judge yourself for having them, or analyse them in any way. It’s okay for the thoughts to be there. Just notice those thoughts, and let them drift on by, bringing your attention back to your breathing. Whenever you notice that your attention has drifted off and is becoming caught up in thoughts or feelings, simply note that the attention has drifted, and then gently bring the attention back to your breathing. It's okay and natural for thoughts to enter into your awareness, and for your attention to follow them. No matter how many times this happens, just keep bringing your attention back to your breathing.

Your questions and worries seem very metaphysical in nature. It's good to be curious about these things, but pondering over them excessively and obsessively seeking for answers is going to land you nowhere, but cause anxiety, restlessness and existential worries. You must learn detachment from these thoughts, and strive for a balance between practical, and the wondrous aspects of life.

I am not able to concentrate on anything. I have frequent headaches. My highers studies (research) are in a complete mess. I had a breakup recently after a long relationship just before it was time to get married. I dont like doing anything. I can hardly eat or sleep. I forget things and do stuffs rather weirdly. Is it affecting my mental status? Any medicine? I want my life back on track! Please advise.

You are emotionally distraught. Perhaps the recent breakup may be a compelling cause, especially since it was a long courtship and collapsed so close to marriage. Look at how angry you are, and the quicker you deal with that, the faster your recovery. Not expressing anger is one aspect of the problem, but when anger is turned inwards, it can make you depressed. The signs are already manifesting in you. Emotions that have not been expressed can play havoc with balance and mental stability. You have to put your life back on track but you need help and support. Do seek the counsel of a therapist and discuss all that is disturbing you to put the zip back into your life. If the counselor feels that you need some medication, s/he will recommend you to a psychiatrist. Do not delay and do cooperate with the therapy, completely.

Hello Drs. My 6 and half year old younger daughter is still unable to understand the normal life. As per blood test and all she used medicines like SOMAZINA, LEVIPIL, ATTENTROL AND SYP BRAINWISE ETC., FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS, PHYSICALLY SHE SO CUTE AND NOBODY CAN IMAGINE THAT SHE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND. Dear lybrate-user, welcome to lybrate. Memory and mind power depends mainly on three aspects. Understanding, storage and recollection. To understand what you are studying, you must be able to be attentive or concentrate. Concentration is possible when you are interested in that subject. Creative way of learning can help you concentrate and understand easily. When you are able to understand and concentrate, it is stored within your brain. If you read more and more it will be store in long term memory. Third part is retrieval. Whenever you want to retrive what you learned and stored, your brain gets the request, searches the database and retrieves the information for you. The retrieval may prove to be difficult if you are anxious, stressed, worried or tired physically or mentally. Retrieval is more easy when you are relaxed and healthy. Brain needs nutrients to keep itself sharp. Fruits, vegetables and dry fruits provide much needed nutrients for your brain. Include at least one fruit in your daily diet. Physical exercises, entertainment, hobbies, relaxation, memory games like sudoku etc help keep your memory sharp and active. Take care.

Exercises for Losing Belly Fat Some very simple but effective exercises to lose belly fat: Stretch 1 – Lie down on a floor mat. Position your legs vertically up and stay in this position for 5 to 15 seconds. This can be repeated thrice. Stretch 2 – Lie down on a floor mat. Stretch your legs straight. Place your hands behind your head and lock your fingers. Now raise your torso and bring it towards your knees. Stay in this position for 5 to 10 seconds and slowly return to your lying position. Repeat this for 15 times in sets of 5. Stretch on Chair – Lie down on a floor mat and position yourself with a chair so as to raise your legs on the chair. Your legs should be at 90 degree to the rest of your body. Place your hands behind your head and clasp your fingers. Now lift your torso and rise up as if you want to touch the knees. Continue for 15 minutes and repeat in sets of 3 or 4. Cycling – Lie down on a floor mat. Raise your legs and rotate them as if you are pedalling a cycle vigorously. Repeat the exercise for five minutes in sets of three. Breathing Exercises to Lose Belly Fat Let us briefly understand on how these work. Oxygen acts as fuel for the body. The extra oxygen that you inhale while performing the breathing exercises result in certain chemical reactions that in turn burns up more calories than you actually take in. You lose extra fat. Pavanmuktasan – for practising Pavanmuktasan, take a deep breath as you lie on your back. Bend you left knee, hold your toes and pull it towards your stomach. Simultaneously lift your head and touch your bent knee. Your other leg must be straight. Breathe in and count ten. Return to your original position and breathe out. Repeat the set with your right leg. Bhujangasan – for practising Bhujangasan lie on your stomach and place your hands under your shoulders. Lift your torso backwards using only the back muscles and not your hands. Hold your breath for 5-10 seconds and slowly return to your original position as you breathe out. Dhanurasan – Lie on your stomach and bend your knees. Hold your ankles as you breathe in. Push your body outwards in the shape of a bow and pull your head back as much as possible. Hold this position for 10 seconds and release the posture as you slowly breathe out. Apart from these there are aerobics that also help you to lose belly fat. Regular simple workouts like jogging, walking up and down through the stairs fast also helps to shed those stubborn belly fat. But remember, it is always advisable to seek the advice of a fitness instructor before you decide as exercise regimen for yourself in order to get the maximum results. These will release the tension also.
