Hello, From your symptoms , you have to rule out a chronic rhinosinusitis , which is a possible cause of these symptoms. You will require to see an ENT physician for a clinical diagnosis and possibly a CT scan of the nose and paranasal sinuses and a nasal endoscopy , for confirmation of diagnosis . Dusty polluted environment , strong air conditioner etc may aggrevate these , so better to avoid .

Hello sir I am 27 years old. I have uric acid problem. First time blood test report having 8.3 uric acid level. Then I have taken medicine prescribe by the doctor for 10 days (medicine are allopurinol 300 mg) then test again my blood and then it's level is 3.3 and after that doctor change the medicine (like uricostat 80 mg and doloforce dt) for 3 weeks. After that my uric acid level is 6.7.sir please suggest the proper treatment for this. Please reply as soon as possible sir.

You have to drink a lot of water and avoid purine rich meats and this is not too high now Most of it is excreted (removed from your body) in your urine, or passes through your intestines to regulate "normal" levels. Normal Uric acid levels are 2.4-6.0 mg/dL (female) and 3.4-7.0 mg/dL (male). Normal values will vary from laboratory to laboratory. Also important to blood uric acid levels are purines.To reduce the uric acid levels in blood, you may need to limit intake of alcohol, sugary foods and reduce purine rich foods like meat, poultry, seafood and pulses. Vegetables such as cauliflower, asparagus, spinach, peas and mushroom also contain a lot of purines

Breathe Well Sleep Well

Total wellness is not possible without good sleep. Sleep is a de-learning process. It relaxes and rejuvenates the body and makes our body ready for a
new day. We spend one third of our life in sleep and this one third decides the two third of our life. For every two hours of alertness we need one of sleep. Ever since society has become 24x7, our sleep quality has become poor. A healthy body needs a regular refreshing seven to eight hours of sleep.

Sleep debt creates a mortgaged mind. If we are sleeping one hour less per day then we have to pay back in the day. Sleeplessness is equivalent to drunken driving. Anger, agitation, personality disorders, road rage, substance abuse are indirectly related to poor sleep. Sleep disorders are rising in society and more over sedentary behaviour, obesity is responsible for the rising number of sleep apnoea and related sleep disorders.

There are two types of sleep disorders one primarily because of defects in sleep regulatory mechanisms and others are secondary due to lifestyle causing insomnia and sleep disordered breathing like sleep apnoea. A tired and spent person gets relief and is able to retrieve his liveliness and energy only after taking sound sleep. Sleep is a law of nature which is applicable not only to human beings but also to the botanical world.

A good night sleep is a good regular sleep practice. Always be happy while sleeping. Concentrate on your breathing and feel you are totally relaxed. Keep in mind that the pranayama practice is very important. Pranayama and yoga are the key to good activation of our biological clock.

Our hypothalamic area in the brain is our internal clock. If we do not nurture our biological clock we will face sleep delay and fragmented sleep.

A good sleep involves right pre-sleep practices. It’s like a right alap before a classical music performance. Yoga and Pranayama are an important measure to improve sleep and reduce work place negativity, tension, anxiety and so many other problems. Following yoga and pranayama – Bhastrika pranayam, Kapalbhati pranayam and Anulom Vilom pranayam – have been found to be beneficial.

Besides this, Shavasan and Yognidra are very much useful for sound sleep. Listening to light music like mantras before sleep is beneficial. Yoga increases blood circulation and stimulates the nervous system. Following few practices improves oxygenation to the brain and improves sleep quality and cures insomnia. Halasana and Sarvangasana are the asana to cure insomnia naturally by yoga.

Good pre-sleep habits are called sleep hygiene. A good sleep hygiene improves sleep quality by reducing the onset of sleep and maintenance of rhythm of sleep. We all enter sleep through NREM sleep it’s like slow uncoiling of a curtain wire. We enter sleep with high alfa waves and slowly go to delta or slow wave sleep.

Initial sleep is all NREM sleep and subsequently we enter REM sleep or rapid eye movement sleep. REM sleep constitutes one third of total sleep and in this time of sleep muscles reach to zero tone and it's a dream sleep.

This is about a 50-year-old man, a heavy smoker with sedentary corporate life with disturbed sleep, snoring, day time sluggishness, irritability and poor corporate performance.

He was subjected to a quit tobacco programme, weight loss and good nutrition and lifestyle modification programme with following sleep rules.

He improved on all fronts and started enjoying wellness in his life.

Stick to your sleep time and get up exactly 7 to 8 hours after sleep. You will feel oven fresh.

Follow this sleep rules one hour before going to your sleep clock.

1. A relaxing warm shower an hour before sleep.

2. Anulom vilom for five minutes

3. Kapalbhati for five minutes, avoid doing if you had dinner an hour before.

4. Bhastrika for five minutes.

5. Eye exercises for five minutes in all quadrants

6. Cervical flexion, extension and rotation exercises for two minutes.

7. Sharvanasana or corpse pose for 5 minutes and focus on your breath.

8. Now listen to some slow music. Music induces Alfa activity and helps in sleep initiation for 10 minutes.

9. Do visual imagery. Make memorable twenty images on your iPad or phone or album and slowly brush though.

This helps in release of endorphins and gives feel good feeling for 5 minutes.

10. Take a hot cup of milk. Milk has serotonin and serotonin induces sleep. These steps will de-stress you and help you to get a sound sleep.

Avoid thinking too much while sleeping. Just relax while sleeping.

Always be happy while sleeping. Concentrate on your breathing and feel totally relaxed.

Keep in mind pranayama practice is very important, as important as pre-sleep habit.

Hello, kindly follow health advises given below: measure your temperature and tell me reading 1. Avoid exertion 2. Take tablet paracetamol 500 mg after food (If No Drug Allergy) as and when required for fever more than 99 f (maximum 3 tablets with gap of 8 hr can be taken in a day) for 3 days 3. Lot of fluids to be taken 4. Take proper diet homemade food like moong dal dalia, chapati etc. 4. Avoid wearing synthetic and tight cloths. Kindly go for CBC test and consult physician for further management and let me know what medicines you were taking and also tell me if you are having other symptoms like cough/ throat pain/ burning urine/ stomach pain so that we can confirm cause of fever.

Chang you're sitting n sleeping position. Do not take pillow. Apply mahanarayana oil n massage gently. Do fomentation. Do cervical exercises daily. Medicine is also available.

I am suffering from hypertension and under medication called Aten 50 daily once in morning. I check my BP regularly and same in normal range varies from 110/75-130/85 max. Though sometimes I feel chest pain mostly in evening after moderate exercise I.e jogging and cycling. But even in pain my BP is normal, pls suggest how to cure it?

1.Varicose veins are swollen, dilated and tortuous veins under the skin particularly the calf muscle 2. It occurs due to a defect in the valve mechanism of deep veins of leg resulting in stagnation of blood in the veins. 3.It affects mostly women 4. It occurs due to obesity, during pregnancy, aged people and sometimes it runs in family Symptoms 1.Many patients are asymptomatic excepting facing cosmetic embarrassment due to the dilated and swollen veins. 2.Some patients have burning, throbbing,aching, heavy filling, cramp, swelling, discomfort in leg in leg. Pain worsened after prolonged sitting/standing 3.Few patient may develop itching around vein, Eczematous rashes or ulcer near the ankle. Prevention If you are having varicose veins 1. Do regular exercise, reduce weight if over weight, 2.Avoid tight cothing, 3.Avoid prolonged standing/sitting 3. Keep the leg elevated while sleeping, sitting 4.consult surgeon for further advice Treatment 1.Compression stocking If no relief 2.sclerotherapy, 3.Laser surgery or vein stripping. 4. Consult a good surgeon for treatment.

Hi doctor Actually I used to sing and preparing for auditions but then I fell ill and suffered from cold and now I can not sing anymore. please tell me if it temporary. Will I get my voice back or not? At one side I was ready for auditions and now I can not even sing casually. No low notes, no high notes and the voice quality sounds terrible. I want to get my voice back.

Apply proctosedyl ointment 2-3 times daily before and after passing stool. 2.Sit in a bath tub containing warm water with little salt for some time twice daily (sitz bath). 3.Take two tea spoonful lof softovac/Naturolax powder with a glass of warm water/milk in the evening or syrup Duphalac 3 Tsf (15 ml) twice daily if there is constipation. 4.Take fiber containing diet, plenty of green leafy vegetables and fruits. 5.Consult surgeon for further advice.

1. Do warm saline gurgling 3-4 times daily 2. Take viscodyne d syrup 2tsf thrice daily if it is a dry cough or viscodyne syrup if cough is associated with sputum 3. You may have to take antibiotic along with it and carry out investigations of blood and x ray chest after consulting physician, if no relief4. Avoid smoking if you smoke.

Always keep an audit of the foods which cause your tonsils to enlarge. After eating anything sweet always gargle your throat and spit. You don't need to use fancy mouth washes, just plain water does the trick. Never go to bed without brushing your teeth. You are some who is very prone to allergies so avoid but do not give up completely on things you like. And in case of fever with enlarged tonsils always consult your doctor and don't go about treating yourself.

Issue: I have cold through out the year and there are suddenly days where I start sneezing and they don't end till either I sleep or I have lot or water and food, this has been going on for some time but this has suddenly risen in last 2 years where I have started to sneeze a lot and has now become too frequent.

Take tab. sinarest it contains ( Acetaminophen+ Pseudoephedrine+ chlorpheniramine). Acetaminophen, chlorpheniramine, and pseudoephedrine is a combination medicine for throat infection and treat headache, fever, body aches, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and sinus congestion caused by allergies, the common cold, or the flu. Do gargle with warm water thrice a day. Drink warm water also. Take plenty of water, liquid diet, dalia, green veg., orange. avoid cold things, avoid cold drinks. Avoid Oily foods. If symptoms are from more days or again persist then do few tests for confirm causes of it.. i.e. CBC. welcome in lybrate.
