Hi Bunny... It is because you are not taking right Medicine.. The infection occurs because your body is weak... Taking antibiotics will kill bacteria but it doesn't make your body immunity strong so infection will occur again. Homoeopathic treatment works on immunity and prevent the Infection... You can consult me through lybrate..

Whatever you eat, tb doesn't come to you if you eat chicken or stuff. I hope he has taken full 6 months anti tubercular treatment. That's the only thing that matters. Anti tubercular medication has a bad effect on liver and jaundice is common. Take udimarin forte tablet daily and try to eat healthy food not oily or spicy food.

Hello, I am 25 year old, I have cold & fever from last 9 days. What should i do? Please advise.

Firstly there's no lifelong cure for the common cold. Antibiotics are only effective against infections of throat and are of no use against cold viruses. Over-the-counter (otc) cold preparations won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner, and most have side effects. A saltwater gargle 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2tsp turmeric dissolved in a glass of warm water can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat. To help relieve nasal congestion, try saline (pure salt water) nasal drops. If you have a throat infection, or a viral cold then I will prescribe appropriate meds based on your detailed assessment. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Your problems seem to be mostly due to allergy. To clear off the sticky mucous, drinking half a glass of luke warm water in which a teaspoonful of fresh honey, 1/4 tsp turmeric, little bit of grated ginger and about 2 pieces of black pepper (grind) are mixed properly would help. You can take this twice daily after food. As an alternative to the above-mentioned, you may as well take 10 ml of Dabur Honitus syrup, thrice daily. Its in your best interest that you have stopped smoking. It seems you are somehow allergic to certain foods and drinks including tea, and also smoking which when taken is leading to excess mucous secretion and hence the stickiness. I would first and foremost advise you to restrict intake of such foods/ drinks so that you can prevent most of these issues. I recommend you to have a balanced yet relatively bland diet devoid of excessive spices, salt, oil et al and have a regularized lifestyle with due emphasis on relaxation/ de-stressing. Exercise/ walking for at least 30 - 45 mins should be a part of your daily regimen unless you have other health issues that do not allow you to. Again, in order that you do not get acidity, it is advisable that you avoid tomato based products, citrus fruits/ juices, greasy, fatty or fried and hot foods, sweets, alcohol, caffeinated beverages, tea (with milk), deep fried flesh foods, peppermint, dairy products including chocolates etc. Also, avoid sticky foods that create more of mucous leading to congestion in throat. Hope this helps correct your condition and also give you a long term prophylactic support. You can always meet up a ENT specialist in person for further clinical evaluation should you not get relief still. Do take care and all the very best. Sincerely,

Hello there, for cough, take 2-2 teaspoonful of pranacharya kasantak by mixing it in hot water twice daily. Sitopaladi, praval and tankan bhasm churna taken with honey can also bring relief. Consume this 3 to 4 times a day for relief from dry cough; you can also drink tea with basil leaves or add ginger and black pepper in it. Salted hot water gargling also helps. And stay away from cold drinks and don't take milk when having cough.

What should I do to purify my lungs I have quit smoking but still sometimes feel a sudden pain and still I cough a lot.

MS - Counselling & Psychotherapy, Master of Arts In Clinical Psychology, Bachelor of Arts - Psychology & English Literature

Hi lybrate-user! The best way to purify your lungs would be to wake up early and walk in a park or a place where there is more plants, trees and flowers, so that you can take in lot of fresh air, oxygen into your lungs and then which in turn pushes out carbon-di-oxide and smoky air inside your lungs accumulated in your lungs during smoking in the past thus, meditation or walking in fresh greenery place will help you purify your lungs by breathing out poisonous air of carbon-di-oxide and then taking in fresh oxygen, which in turn cleanses your lungs. If any doubt contact me. Take care. With regards
