I have problem in my mouth. Early morning I wake up in my mouth cough problem daily before 3years.

PG Hom, London, BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Hello Prayag, The problem that you have cited is not with your mouth but with your lungs. If you are a cigarette smoker, this is because of the cigarettes. It is called as smokers cough. If not, you will have to undergo an X Ray of your chest in order to rule out any infection in your chest. The cough is produced in the chest. during the night when you are lying down for a long time, the cough comes out of the lungs and gets accumulated in the air pipe. In the morning, when you wake up and try breathing in an upright position, this accumulated cough causes difficulty in breathing and leads to cough which helps in removing the cough.

Which medicine is used for cough and fever wat are the symptoms regards it's and precautions.
Take tab sinarest twice a day after food for 3 days. Get plenty of rest, especially while you have a fever. Rest helps your body fight infection. Stop smoking and avoid secondhand smoke, which can make cold symptoms worse drink lots of fluids such as water and clear soups. Fluids help loosen mucus. Fluids are also important because they help prevent dehydration. Gargle with warm salt water a few times a day to relieve a sore throat. Throat sprays or lozenges may also help relieve the pain. Avoid alcohol. Use saline (salt water) nose drops to help loosen mucus and moisten the tender skin in your nose.

Hello Doctor, I have a problem of sneezing and watering and itching in eyes as well as some sticky water in ear specially in morning ,i have this problem since 1 and a half year how can I get rid of it? please suggest some effective medicine.

PGD Maternal Child Health, MBBS
General Physician, Akola
You seem to be suffering from chronic allergic rhinitis and some secondary infection causing otitis in the middle ear through the eustachian tubes from throat to ear. Avoid forceful blowing of nose because the internal pressure makes the throat infection to reach the ear tubes. Do hot saline gargles. Prevent exposure to dust and pollens. Get examined by an ent specialist and follow his advice.

Try the tips below:: 1.Take 11 guava leaves, 11 black pepper, 1 cup milk and one cup water. Put all of them in pot and boil it well, when it reduced to one cup, drink in empty stomach. Take this daily for at least six months or a year. 2.Boil cumin seeds in water and inhale the steam. It helps dilate the bronchial passage. 3.Take 5 gm of ginger, black pepper, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, turmeric and 30 gm of sugar. Grind the mix to a powder. Take half to one teaspoonful and mix it nicely with honey. Take it twice a day 4.Pulses like old rice (rice which is stored for at least one year is called old), wheat, barley, kulattha, mung beans, arhar beans, etc . should be consumed. 5.Honey, warm drinks like herbal teas, spice teas are also okay. 6.Sprouts, nuts and seeds can be taken in moderate amount. 7.The heavy foods and those which make ama should be avoided. This mainly includes milk products like cheese, curd, butter milk, creams, and banana, etc. 8.Oily, greasy and fried foods which are difficult to digest should be avoided. 9.White flour and white sugar products should be avoided. 10.In addition, try to avoid the cold foods, cold drinks and other refrigerated things. 11.Avoid excessive or physically demanding exercise. Hi, I am suffering from cough for last 18 days and have gone to doctors also but not getting cure. What should i do?

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Firstly there's no lifelong cure for the common cold. Antibiotics are only effective against infections of throat and are of no use against cold viruses. Over-the-counter (otc) cold preparations won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner, and most have side effects. A saltwater gargle 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2tsp turmeric dissolved in a glass of warm water can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat. To help relieve nasal congestion, try saline (pure salt water) nasal drops. If you have a throat infection, or a viral cold then I will prescribe appropriate meds based on your detailed assessment. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.

I don't smoke. But phir bhi mujhe hyper inflated lung fields hai. Kya iska koi treatment hai?
Dear Lybrate user. I understand. Some physical diseases are thought to be prone to be made worse by mental factors such as stress and anxiety. At any given time, a person's mental state can affect the degree of severity of a physical disease. Physical symptoms that are caused by mental factors are also called somatization or somatoform disorders. I think your problem is PSYCHOSOMATIC PROBLEM. I suggest online counseling and psychotherapy. Take care.

Are there screening tests that can find lung cancer early? How many people get lung cancer?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Dear sir, early diagnosis of lung cancer can be made by screening chest xray, but it shouldn't be done very frequently as there is risk of radiation exposure so annually once is fine unless there is some problems like cough, blood in sputum, voice change, breathing difficulty etc. Lung cancer is the most common cancers relatrd deaths amongst males and the incidence is amongst males in nearly 7percent of all cancers.
