Hello, I am 43 years old male. Today my B.P is 111/68. Previously, my BP had been low several times .What can I do? Suggest something.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Dear Lybrateuser, - Your BP is in normal range, maintain your BP by having plenty of oral fluids including 8-10 glasses of water per day - have a well balanced diet including fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, protein foods & foods containing healthy fats as in fish, olive or canola oil for cooking, a handful of nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews, avocados & seeds such as flax, chia & sesame - if BP becomes still lower than your present level then sprinkle a little extra salt on your cooked food before consumption - do regular exercise such as walking, jogging, stretching & mild weight bearing ones to keep your BP normal.

Hi, Our maid has been suffering from a very nasty underarm odour. We have taken her to skin doctors and she has taken a number of treatments like clindamycin, aldry, etc. Still there's no use. What should be done to completely cure this problem?

Hello, The condition is called Bromhidriosis and if its not responding to medications then removal of apocrine sweat glands by superficial liposuction or excision is the only option. Consult a plastic surgeon.

In case there is no discomfort at all the redness could be due to a haemorrhage which looks scary but is harmless. It subsides within 8-10 days without doing anything.

BLOOD WITH WATERY SLIMY STOOL IS DYSENTRY need urgent Stool and blood tests& basic electroyte & routine test BP PULSE DEHYDRATION TEST Cultures of stool samples are examined to identify the organism causing dysentery. Usually, several samples must be obtained due to the number of amoebae, which changes daily TreatmentDysentery is managed by maintaining fluids by using oral rehydration therapy. If this treatment cannot be adequately maintained due to vomiting or the profuseness of diarrhea, hospital admission may be required for intravenous fluid replacement. No antimicrobial therapy should be administered until microbiological microscopy and culture studies have established the specific infection involved. Till emergency If shigellosis is suspected and it is not too severe, letting it run its course may be reasonable — usually less than a week. Anti bacterial is less effective Amoebic dysentery is often treated antimicrobial drug With correct treatment, most cases of amoebic and bacterial dysentery subside within 10 days, and most individuals achieve a full recovery within two to four weeks after beginning proper treatment. Extreme dehydration can delay recovery and significantly raises the risk for serious complications. ALOE 30 COLOCYNTH 200 CROTON TIG30 IPECACA 30 for prevention.

Hi lybrate-user. Start some exercise or yoga/meditation. Eat fresh fruits and less sugar/rice etc. Apply lavender oil to temples during headache. Make a schedule and stick to it - set your sleep wake time. Discuss your stress with some friend or professional (psychologist). Take some alone time, do some pleasure activities. Consult me for same.

Sir my friend is suffering from typhoid he takes many medicines from many doctors but not relief please suggest some medicines.

MBBS
General Physician, Cuttack
1. Consult doctor with blood report like widal/typhidot test. 2. If it is typhoid, you have to take a full course of antibiotic for 10-14 days 3. Take bland semi solid diet like rice with yogurt, porridge, barley, fruit (avoid skin/seeds) custard, avoid spicy, oily and fatty food. Take light and easily digestible diet. Take meals at short interval to avoid nausa/vomiting. Avoid meat/poultry/egg 4. Drink plenty of water/lime juice/ glucose water/ coconut water, sugar cane/ fresh fruit (avoid citrus fruits) juice, milk 5. Take adequate rest prevention typhoid is a bacterial infection affecting the gastrointestinal system and is due to fecal contamination of food, milk and water. It can be prevented by 1. Avoiding contaminated food and water/milk from out side sources like junk food etc 2 use purified drinking water and have warm home made food, 3. Avoid fly contamination of food, maintain food hygiene 4, properlyl wash your hands before taking food 5. Wash vegetable, fruit before consuming.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. In diabetes due to peripheral neuropathy, burning sensation, tingling and numbness can occur in hands and legs & feet. This happens even when diabetes is well controlled. In a well controlled diabetes fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8. I am not sure about your levels as nothing is mentioned. Further alcohol also has detrimental effects on nerves. It is also necessary to know your liver function test results, which will give an idea about liver's condition. So please come back with all the details plus your current treatment with drugs and dosage. Thanks.
