Dear sir my son age 5 years suffering from nephrotic syndrom from last 2. 5 year what is actual complete treatment ?

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS, FISPN & FISPN - Pediatric Nephrology
Pediatrician, Delhi
Dear , nephrotic syndrome can`t be cured once for all. Its like flu you get it take treatment and it goes away, but as long as it is steroid sensitive it should not harm kidneys. If your baby requires too frequent doses of steroids then steroid sparing agent can be added.

Allergic bronchitis is the condition what it seems like from the history available here. Must to consult chest physician or allergy specialist to have permanent control. Medicines could be in form of inhalation in these situations which I feel has not been ever started in your case,

It is necessary in such condition that parents should be polite and considerate. This problem should have not develop suddenly. It is a gradual process started long before. If there is no physical or mental development, consult a Psychiatrist.

Eating a piece of cheese after a meal helps in pulling away some of the plaque and leftover tiny food particles from meals. And since it contains calcium, it adds to the health of teeth and bones as well.

My 8 year old son is not gaining weight. His diet is also very limited. Please advise / suggest

M.D.( Pediatrics), DCH
Pediatrician,
70-80% parents complain that their child does not eat, still then children grow and some of them even go on diet plans to reduce weight. So this is human nature, we all feel the same. But it has to be substantiated by objective tactics. What is weight of your son. If it is in normal range for his age then nothing needs to be done. If not then look if there is familial thin frame. Very small percentage of children need detail work up.

Baby Bottle Caries In Bottle Fed Children

Baby Bottle Caries In Bottle Fed Children

What is baby bottle tooth caries?

Baby bottle tooth decay is caused by the frequent and long-term exposure of a child's teeth to liquids containing sugars. Among these liquids are milk, formula, fruit juice, sodas and other sweetened drinks.
The condition is associated with breastfed and bottle fed infants who have prolonged feeding habits or with children whose pacifiers are frequently dipped in honey, sugar or syrup. The sweet fluids left in the mouth while the infant is sleeping increase the chances of cavities.

Why should I be worried about baby bottle tooth decay?

Giving an infant a sugary drink at nap or nighttime is harmful because, during sleep, the flow of saliva decreases, allowing the sugary liquids to linger on the child's teeth for an extended period of time. If left untreated, decay can result, which can cause pain and infection. Severely decayed teeth may need to be extracted. If teeth are infected or lost too early due to baby bottle tooth decay, your child may develop poor eating habits, speech problems, crooked teeth and damaged adult teeth.

How can I prevent baby bottle tooth decay?

1. Never allow a child to fall asleep with a bottle containing milk, formula, juice or other sweetened liquids.
2. Clean and massage the baby's gums to help establish healthy teeth with a moistened gauze square or washcloth.
3. Brushing should begin upon eruption of the first baby tooth. When brushing a child's teeth, use a soft toothbrush and water.
4. Parents should first bring their child to the dentist when the child is between 6 and 12 months old for a checkup.
5. Decrease consumption of sugar, especially between meals.
6. Children should be weaned from the bottle as soon as they can drink from a cup, usually by their first birthday.

Babies have limited means of communication. They can gurgle, they can sometimes smile, and they can cry. And cry they do ? sometimes for hours on end. This can sometimes be extremely frustrating, especially when your little one doesn?t respond to any of your efforts to stop the crying.

Some of the reasons why babies cry include hunger, a need to be held, feeling tired, feeling too cold or too hot, in need of a nappy change, or because they?re feeling sick and need something to make them feel better.
