Hi. I am suffering from high BP. I measuring it daily and its 120/175. Recently, I test my blood to get lipid profile. In blood serum test, cholesterol is 170, it's to normal as per given range. Though there is some abnormalities which are just above in give range. Urea 43.7 mg/dl. Uric acid 7.8 mg/dl. In ECG report it's normal. Please guide me what could be possible reason for high blood pressure. What should I need to do. Do any more test needed to get more detailed? I consult to a doctor who is my relative over phone and he suggested to take telvas H 40 12.5 and Nicardia 10 MG together once a day. I am eating those since 1 week but still blood pressure not getting normal. After eating medicine, it's lower to 100/160 around. But not getting in normal range. Please suggest.

Take warm water and liquid diet like daliya, khichdi, moong daal soup in your routine. Cut down sugar, salt in your diet. Make sure you take sleep 7 to 8 hrs at night regularly. Go for a steady walk at least for 20 -25 mins daily in the morning. Do anuloma and viloma for 10 -15 mins as routine. Eat slowly, avoid sleeping day time. Continue the regime for 1 month. I am having hypertension and Diabetes mellitus type 2. What should i do for this?
Dear Lybrateuser, - Depending on your bp & blood sugar level you may be prescribed medication by your physician - other than that you have to follow a healthy lifestyle: - restrict salt in diet, avoid sugar & sugar containing foods, also foods containing trans & saturated fats like bakery items, namkeens, also pickles, papads which have a lot of salt - use herbs like ginger, cinnamon, cardomom to flavour your tea, avoid alcohol & smoking if you do - have more of fibre containing foods such as fruits, vegetables including green leafy ones, whole grains instead of refined ones, legumes, sprouts, a handful of nuts per day like almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews, peanuts, seeds such as flax, sesame, chia - have 4-5 small meals rather than three large meals to keep your sugar levels stable, reduce carbohydrates & increase content of protein foods & heart healthy fats such as in fish like salmon, tuna, mackeral, nuts, avocados, flax seeds in your diet - do regular exercise such as brisk walking, jogging, swimming, moderate weight lifting for 10-15 min twice a week, also try to include yoga, meditation & deep breathing in your daily schedule - sleep well for at least 7-8 hrs at night, keep your sleep & wake up time fixed - destress by reading, listening to music or playing a game or following a hobby - regularly check your blood sugar & blood pressure, take medication on time reduce weight by diet & exercise.
