My father is suffering from arthritis for the last 4 years. And his health condition is weak. He is having swellings in his joints frequently. What all precaution do he must take to reduce the pain and swelling? which all are the food items that he should avoid eating? can this arthritis be cured completely?

It can relieved 60% .. Go for fasting once a week. You can go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid diet to digest ama (toxin). Fasting should be followed by hot fomentation or by taking a bath with lukewarm water or steam bath. After fasting and fomentation, mix powdered long pepper, black pepper and dried ginger in equal quantities and take 1 teaspoon of this powdered mix with lukewarm water twice a day. This will help you restore your digestive fire. Take one tablespoon of castor oil before going to bed, once or twice a week. It helps in cleansing ama (toxin) build up and balancing vata. Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.

According to ayurveda you r suffering from sandhi vata. Here I can only advise u. Massage with mahanarayan tail on affected parts followed by light fomentation. Multivitamin and calcium supplements daily.

Hair fall is due to many reasons now a day it is common due to stress and busy life check your haemoglobin level take proper diet (dal vegetables sprouts fruits) and do exercise minimum 15 min if possibles do yoga for 10 min increase water intake minimum 3 to 4 litres per day also take homoeo medicines amonum mur 30 (30 no glouble) 2 tds x 1 month and reply also comb your hair gently and 2/3 time per day wash with homoeopathic shampoo twice a week above is for hair fall for bodyache take arnica 200 4 tab daily for 7 days.

Running is only cardio exercise output only kegel exercises may give good pelvic floor muscle strengthening work out.

From last few months, cracking/popping sound coming from knee while squatting, sometimes during walking/jogging. There has been no injury as such, no injury pain but knees feel exhausted most of the times and esp. After driving. Have done through few tests, have Vitamin D deficiency but calcium is fine. Checked with a physiotherapist, he said it's normal but still I'm not sure.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Seems oa both knees. Pl send x ray reports and treatment done so far. Walking, fomentation of knees with hot water bath may be done. Before bath massage with mahavishgarbh oil - light massage - be done. Pl send reports. Consult for further advise and'janudhara' tips.

If you are having knee problem, get yourself checked by an orthopedic, if its early arthritic changes seen in your knee joint, then don't go for treadmill running, firstly you can take physiotherapy for your knee joint, do exercises given by the therapist to strengthen knee muscles, and take necessary precautions for further damage, secondly start with your weight loss goal, do exercises like brisk walk on a smooth surface, yoga and a proper balanced diet to loose weight.

Dear friend I was getting back ache before going to toilet n right side on heap pain for the past 2 months. Then I went for scanning and found that there is a stone in kidney (5mm). After consulting doctor I am using the medicine - cystone. For one month it was alright and suddenly for the past 3 days savior pain complete back (heap area). I am continuing this medicine. Ok avoid long sitting and toward bending tk break between work. Tk heat fermentation twice a day and tk rest if it work then ok other wise tk physiotherapy treatment and stretching exercise in daily routine it will help you.

Dear user since most of the times you r in sitting posture, this causes stiffness in n around the spinal region, coz of which you have pain n whenever you move or you become functional pain n stiffness reduces. Constant pain is pain even in rest is a sign of swelling in back. You should start with yoga exercises which would help to improve the tonicity n strength of the muscles around the spine. For pain relief you could opt for sand fomentation n local application of mahanarayan taila is beneficial. Also you could add some calcium n vit-d suppliments in your diet n kindly Dnt sit for long hours.
