Dear Lybrate user. This is a wrong concept. Cholesterol has nothing to do with stress or anxiety. Weight loss could happen due to stress and anxiety and as a general effect, whole cholesterol count could decrease. Take care.

-Medical treatment in form of sodium valproate is available to reduce the sensitivity in PSE, -avoid situations in which u might be exposed to stimuli that trigger seizures and/or take steps to diminish ur sensitivity (as by covering one eye) if unavoidably exposed. These actions together can reduce the risk of seizures to almost zero for many PSE patients.

It is due to a sort of anxiety disorder called obsessive compulsive disorder which can be treated and kept under control to a great extent by some medicines and psychotherapy. Convince your parents and take him to a psychiatrist at the earliest.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common mental health problem. Symptoms typically include recurring thoughts and repetitive actions in response to the recurring thoughts. A common example is recurring thoughts about germs and dirt, with a need to wash your hands repeatedly to "clean off the germs" However, there are many other examples like sexual thoughts, counting, checking, orderliness, etc. The usual treatments are cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant medicine, or both. Treatment often works well to reduce the symptoms and distress of OCD greatly. Consult a psychiatrist. All the best.

Smoking can stimulate you and raise your BP immediately: it is best you give it up. But this sudden development may have something to do with stress related to something you are angry about. If you know what that is you can deal with it but if you don't then meet with a counselor and sort that out for instant relief. In the meantime kindly implement some of these suggestions: In your case particularly, do not sleep during the day; don’t even lie down. Go for regular exercise (breathing through your nostrils only) at a fixed time (at about 6 am) every day, whether you sleep or not. You must develop this habit of sleeping by 10 pm latest every night and wake up at a uniform time by 6 am every morning, even if you do not get sleep. If you do not get sleep, just lie down and if you have a bed lamp (or you could get one) lie down and read something light but not exciting. Your eyes will tire and you will fall asleep. If you like you may also put on light and soft music with the sleep function on. Depending on whether you are a visual or auditory person, you may watch TV in a lying down position until you feel sleepy. Have a warm bath before going to bed (for some people a cold bath at night seems to induce sleep! If you are one of them, please do so). Place the head side of your bed in a North-South position. The room must be as dark as possible and there should be no electronic items that give off even a light LED glow. There must be ample ventilation in the room. Avoid strong odors, except lavender, on your body or in the room, or on your sheets and clothes. There should not be any live plants in your bedroom. Sleep with the lightest of clothes or without any clothing. When lying down to sleep, lie down on your left ear as much as possible. Do not sleep directly under an overhead fan. You must eat a good breakfast, a fairly light lunch, and an early dinner, which should be a very light meal. Whatever you eat in the other meals, have only a pure carbohydrate meal at night with any vegetables, and preferably before 8 pm. Do not drink much liquids after or near about dinner time. When lying down to sleep you may use the 4-7-8 breathing pattern of sleep inducement i. E. Breathe in for four counts through your nostril only, hold for 7 counts, and exhale with a whoosh sound, through your mouth only, for 8 counts. Repeat this four times in the morning and just before you sleep at night. If you know Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT (check this out either on YouTube or Google), then please practice this too for sleep induction. Self-hypnosis and slow relaxation techniques, at night will be tremendously useful. Acupuncture or acupressure will both be very useful too. Pray, last thing at night before you sleep.

See having sex between adults is a matter of choice. If the girl had sex with many guys, it s her wish. If you are not comfortable, stop the relationship and find a girl who suits your needs. Dont blame her for cheating you. You might feel depressed since she has not revealed her affairs, since uve come to know of it, and you are not comfortable with it, leave her and divert your mind on other activites

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. Smoking cigarettes can cause cancer and other respiratory problems. Nicotine is addictive and thereby smoking is an addiction. The best method to stop smoking is to use your will power. If you have will power you can easily quit. If you do not have will power, even medicines are not helpful. I suggest online counselling and deaddiction therapy. Take care.

Hye. Thanks for the query. As such there is no one food that is going to help concentration or stamina. It's all about managing a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle involves, choosing a balanced diet and healthy eating plan. A healthy eating plan: Emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products Includes lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts Is low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars Stays within your daily calorie needs A healthy eating plan that helps you manage your weight includes a variety of foods you may not have considered. If" healthy eating" makes you think about the foods you can't have, try refocusing on all the new foods you can eat—  Fruits ― don't think just apples or bananas. All fresh fruits are great choices. Be sure to try some" exotic" fruits, too. How about a mango? Or a juicy pineapple or kiwi fruit! When your favorite fresh fruits aren't in season, try a dried variety of a fresh fruit you enjoy. One caution about canned fruits is that they may contain added sugars or syrups. Vegetables ― try something new. You may find that you love grilled vegetables or steamed vegetables with an herb you haven't tried like basil/tulsi. You can sauté (panfry) vegetables in a non-stick pan with a small amount of cooking oil. Commit to going to the green grocery and trying a new vegetable each week. Calcium-rich foods ― you may automatically think of a glass of low-fat or fat-free milk when someone says" eat more dairy products. But what about low-fat and fat-free yogurts without added sugars? These can be had in a wide variety of flavors and can be a great dessert substitute for those with a sweet tooth. A new twist on an old favorite ― if your favorite recipe calls for frying fish or breaded chicken, try healthier variations using baking or grilling. Maybe even try a recipe that uses paneer or soya nuggets in place of higher-fat meats. Healthy eating is all about balance. You can enjoy your favorite foods even if they are high in calories, fat or added sugars. The key is eating them only once in a while, and balancing them out with healthier foods and more physical activity. Some general tips for comfort foods: Eat them less often. If you normally eat these foods every day, cut back to once a week or once a month. You'll be cutting your calories because you're not having the food as often. Eat smaller amounts. If your favorite higher-calorie food is a chocolate bar, have a smaller size or only half a bar. Try a lower-calorie version. Use lower-calorie ingredients or prepare food differently. For example, if your kheer recipe uses whole milk, ghee, whole fat cream try remaking it with non-fat milk, less ghee, light cream. Just remember to not increase your portion size. The point is, you can figure out how to include almost any food in your healthy eating plan in a way that still helps you lose weight or maintain a healthy weight.

Stress in mechanics is a load, pull or force or a system of forces producing a strain. In life, any event or situation that produces a strain therefore induces a physiological strain.

At work place, a system of forces work to produce desired results which more often than not produce a state of strain or makes an individual's life stressful. But the consequences of chronic stress are not just on individual health and well being but on the organizations as well. This affects the productivity and competitiveness. When an organisation faces a challenge, the flight or fright reaction ensues leading to increased threat perception, alertness and activity. In short term, it can improve productivity, but in case a state of threat is perpetually present like in case of a team led by an anxious or high strung individual, it produces chronic stress leading to lowering of performance. More often, sources of stress at work place are poor communication, unclear roles, discrepancies in expectations and skills, insecurity and sudden and significant change in work structure , to list a few.

While physical effects of stress lead to higher sick leaves, accident and absenteeism, psychological effects cause high anxiety and irritability leading to lower performance, disturbances in interpersonal relationship and more mistakes and miscalculations due to disturbance in concentration and self confidence .

  • Irritability and impatience

  • Tiredness, lack of energy

  • Inability of concentrate, meet deadlines or make decisions

Concerns over the effects of organizational stress on productivity, absenteeism and health related problems and consumption have substantially increased over past few decades. Employee health and well being are important assets to organizations and businesses. The Human Resource Department thus needs to watch for signs of stress in the employees and create an environment where the effects of stress can be mitigated. It requires understanding individual skills and deficiencies, clear and adequate communication, promoting an environment where deficiencies can be worked on without lowering self esteem or producing insecurity, encouraging support among team/staff members etc. On a personal level, individuals need to reduce stress by prioritizing their goals and following time management and self -fulfilment activities.

When our mind is hooked into either past or worried about future it is normal to have lot of negative thoughts and in turn feeling low. The good news is that our mind could be wired to switch back to positive thinking and resilience building. We have immense potential within us and we could tap into those one step at a time, one day at a time. When things does not happen as we wish or people do not behave as we expect that is when out of disappointment, frustration, loneliness, anger, sadness. Etc we react and our mind starts thinking negative thoughts. Changing this pattern of responding to stressful situation requires both persistence and patience. I would suggest few things below. If you are unable to follow these things suggested here you should consult a psychologist. Also you will only be able to work on this out of love and kindness towards you. Strong motivation will go a long way. Writing a statement about how would you want to respond in a similar situation and how will your life and your happiness will change if you do learn to manage your stress and how to respond to it. Once that is clear. Try following things to learn relaxation response which leads to better coping mechanism on a daily basis. To begin with doing guided progressive muscular relaxation before sleeping will help you relax. You could google and download an audio file. I would also suggest you to take a multiple small break to take 3 nice and deep breath while keeping your eyes closed. You could do this while sitting or standing or while even walking or climbing stairs (keep your eyes open in that case). When you take a nice and deep break there is actual physiological change in your body. This will help you to activate parasympathetic nervous system which promotes relaxation and helps you calm down and think more clearly. This will also actually improve your performance in your work. Along with this exercise is one of the best way to relive stress and stay fit. Engage in any kind of physical activity at least 4 times a week. This also helps in stress reduction. Along with this some relaxation exercises as well as engaging in joyful activities such as music, singing, dancing, reading, being in nature, gardening, talking with friends or anything which you enjoy will help reducing stress and rejuvenation of your mind and body. Have good routine for sleep and eating. Lot of research has now proven that sugar is very harmful for our health. Reduce sugar and refined white floor in your diet as much as you could. Along with this also increase consumption of raw vegetables in the form of salad in both the meals of your day. Let me. If you are not able to take charge and bring yourself up then I would recommend consulting a psychologist and work with him or her for few months and learn how to manage your stress and resolve the current issue as well.

Follow these best tips to get red lips:- * moisturize your lips you must keep your lips moisturized if you want them to stay healthy and therefore pink. If you are going outside, try applying a bit of petroleum jelly or lip balm and if you are inside, use some milk fat (ghee). * use pomegranate seeds and milk. Crush up the pomegranate seeds and mix it with some milk cream. If you apply this home remedy to your lips regularly, you will start to see them becoming redder and fuller. * apply cucumber juice simply slice a cucumber, rubbing it against your lips to allow the juices to soak on. If you do this for five minutes each day, you can lighten dark lips to a beautiful pink color. * mix rose petals in milk. Soak some rose petals in milk for a little bit of time. Then use the petals to make a paste, adding a few drops of both glycerin and honey. Apply the paste on your lips and wait fifteen minutes before gently rubbing it off using milk. * massage with lemon juice cut a thin slice from the lemon, sprinkling a bit of sugar on top and rub your lips with this combination each day. This works well because lemon works to naturally bleach your lips, returning them to their light, pink color while sugar works to remove dead skin cells. * mix honey, almond oil and sugar mix sugar, honey and a little bit of olive or almond oil. Apply this to your lips, massaging it in for ten minutes.
