Back pain can result from bad posture, a sudden jerky movement, a lumpy mattress or poor lifting techniques. It can also be caused by injury in a work place, by a sports accident or by muscular spasms. There are also many diseases and pathological conditions that can lead to back pain. These include abdominal or pelvic disease, anxiety, arthritis, cervical or lumbar spondylosis, dermatological problems, kidney disease, rheumatic conditions, tumours and scoliosis. Our modern, sedentary lifestyles have a profound effect on the development of back pain; indeed one of the most effective ways of preventing it is simply to stay active. An average adult in the India spends at least two hours a day in front of a computer screen or television set, and back problems can be triggered if they don’t sit properly. In an age of mobile phones and computer games, such troubles are increasingly inflicting children of school age as well. Top tips for back care: For back pain, better to see your Doctor sooner than later. Take regular exercise – your Doctor can say what’s right for you. Hours in one position can cause problems – avoid computer ‘hump’. During repetitive tasks, vary your rhythm and take frequent breaks. Adjust car seats and on long journeys, take regular breaks to stretch. Pace yourself with heavy work such as gardening – don’t risk a disc! Watch children’s posture – they shouldn’t carry bags on one shoulder or spend too long at a computer without breaks. Avoid strain when lifting, particularly small children and shopping. Your bed could be part of the problem. Seek Doctor advice on choosing a new one. Take a hot bath or shower, soaking in a hot tub, or using a heating pad, hot water bottle, or heat wrap that provides continuous, low-level heat are all ways to bring healing warmth to your lower back. take healthy fibres diet with calcium,iron,protein and mineral. always try to keep posture straight.do exercise daily atleast for one hours.avoid continueously working on computer.take one table spoon turmeric with hot milk daily.it will very useful for you.

Your abdominal muscles are weak at that particular area and lifting heavy weight can prove fatal.So avoid lifting heavy weight in future.Otherwise there is no any problem right now.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi I have a problem in my right shoulder. The pain is persistiall along. I find difficulty in lifting my hand above the shoulder level. A sharp pain in the joint of my arm and shoulder. I cannot sleep on my right side cause of the pain.

Hi thanks for your query. Shoulder pain at this age can be due to shoulder pathology or can come from degenerative discs in neck. You also have a restricted shoulder movement, can be due to adhesive capsulitis or frozen shoulder, degenerative rotator cuff etc. My advice, start intensive physical therapy in presence of a physiotherapist and see if there is any improvement, if not then we will have to look at getting some investigations done for you. My teeth are yellowish in colour after changing so many pastes also I have not found any cure. Please guide me. Take nutritious diet. Avoid wrong posture while sitting and sleeping. Avoid spicy fried and junk food. Avoid tea coffee and aerated drinks. Avoid using pillow. Start with back stretching exercises.

For leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Pain in back is becoming very common days it is because of normal day to day activity and lifestyle. Especially found lot of females complaining of back pain because of there day to day working and pressure. There could be many reasons for back pain. Many of the problems occur for which we are not aware. I understand your pain. Let me recommend you the treatment as well as the precautions you can take at home to get away your backache. Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back like sidelying. 5. Get enough vit d from sun as vit d keep bones strong including spine, 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the inter vertebral disks 7. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 8. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back. Treatment- 1. Apply ice or heat which ever suits you directly to the area of low back pain will decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease your discomfort. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes only. 2. Relaxing for 5 minutes after ice or heat treatment. Massage - ask someone to massage your painful area using fingers or thumb. Massage using kneading technique. Slightly press the thumb and start rotating as it helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. 3. After massage again relax for 5 min and apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. Just a topical application of gel should be done. 4. Again relax your body for 5 minutes and perform some normal back extension and hamstring stretching exercises to get relief from your pain. While performing exercises if pain occurs then would recommend you to stop doing exercise. Massage or slightly rub the painful area and consult your near by physio to diagnose the actual cause of the pain as he/she can guide you proper exercise plan which will be beneficial for you after checking grade of your back pain. Hi I can understand your problem. For pain and swelling apply cold pack for 20 min. Thrice a day for 5 days. There are various reasons for shoulder pain and there are different non surgical treatment options for same in physiotherapy. Back pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take Calc fluor 200--once daily in the morning for 6 days.

Goodevening sir I have understood your question. What I would advice you to do is firstly take a session of 10 days of physiotherapy ultrasound treatment for your knee. Then continue with cold and hot packs daily for about 15 mins. After this your exercising should be in the right way. Please follow my steps for good knee stabilty as I list the exercises below, > isometric quadriceps exercises - that is you should press your knee own on a towel and hold for 10 seconds and then release. > place a rolled towel under your heel and press your heel down on the towel. Place your heel down for 10 seconds and then release. > then squeeze a towel in between your knees for 10 seconds. > lie down and raise your leg upto 45 degrees and not more than that and hold for few seconds. > do 10 knee bending exercises. All these exercises as I have listed below will help you to improve knee strength and stability. You must also be assure to do these exercises daily. Precautions to be taken - - kindly wear a knee cap on both your knees whenever you are going to play. This will protect your knee from any further damages and injury. - next after every game that you play (football) you should take an ice pack for your knee. The popping up sound that your hearing is due to the two joints rubbing against each other. Please follow the advice so that you achieve good health.
