Back Ache - Home Made Solutions To Cure It!

A lot of people today experience back pain and it is mostly the working professionals or students who complain about it. Most of us experience back pain due to incorrect posture or longer duration of sitting. Sometimes you may experience back pain because of exertion as you spend the entire day doing the same kind of job or maybe you bend in a wrong manner while picking up your child or some stuff.

Lower back pain is a very common condition that occurs anywhere on the back below the ribs and above the legs. The pain is very common and it is faced by most individuals at least once during their lifetime.

Try these home solutions for backache:

  1. Harness the power of Basil: Add 10 Basil leaves to a boiling cup of water and continue to boil it until it reduces to half. You can add a dash of salt to this and drink it through the day.
  2. Exercise: Not only should you stretch between long sitting hours, you should also get some back exercise suggested by a physical trainer with expertise in the field.Trigger your inner healing by releasing endorphins. Endorphins act as a pain blocking mechanism in the body and doing certain activities you like can help release them. From walking for 20 minutes to aerobics, to yoga to meditation to chiropractic care, you can try whatever makes you happy and calm to trigger your inner healing.
  3. Garlic: These tiny cloves are powerful healing agents and can cure a variety of body ailments, including blood pressure. Take a couple of garlic cloves early in the morning on empty stomach or a massage with garlic oil will help relieve back ache.
  4. Cut down on spices: We may think of it as unrelated, but low back pain is often accompanied by indigestion. Spinal cord nerves connect to back muscles and digestive organs. Hence, a small change in your diet can have a great impact on your health. Spicy food aggravates the digestive system and has a drying effect on the body. By cutting down on spices and oil, the digestive system can work better and there will be less stress on the nerves connecting the spinal cord and back muscles and thus result in lesser back aches. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an ayurveda.

Hello apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation .take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. Avoid fermented food. Junk food.

I am suffering from severe lower back pain. please Advise. Looking for some physiotherapy near by.
1) avoid those activities which increases your pain. Eg: forward bending etc 2) one should find out the cause of your pain eg: if the pain has started suddenly, it could be a muscle pull while playing or bending or long stretch driving 3) if the pain is since long and is increasing gradually then you should go for a radiological report to diagnose the problem. Once the cause is known, treatment can be done accordingly. Mean while, focus on the following points: 1) place a cushion and support your back while driving/sitting. 2) check on your footwears. Bad footwear leads to back pain 3) place a pillow under your knees while sleeping straight and between your both knees while sleeping side lying (this technique helps to relax your muscles) 4) use a hot water bag/ heat belt to the painful area, heat will improve the blood flow to the muscles and hence will allow them to relax. 5) start certain stretching exercises. Hi your condition is called intervertebral disc problem grade one do proper exercises and consult near qualified Physiotherapist he responded take perfect assessment and treatment as home exercises it will subside.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Ankle stretching. Ankle strengthening exercises. Avoid squatting. Quadriceps exercises. Core strenthening exercises.

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams Stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports Taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area Contrast Fomentation (Hot and Cold).

I sm suffering from sharp pain in my right shoulder and elbow and the connecting muscles. Also swelling at clavicle bone (right side). I had taken medicine and ultrasound in the clavicle bone a month ago. Swelling has reduced but pain in shoulder and elbow increased again and is excruciating. I also have gas problem (burping) and perennial cold with mucus always blocking my air passage from nose to mouth.

Neck exercises. Neck stretching. Postural correction. Shoulder shrugs. Take frequent breaks at work. Core strengthening exercises. Use cervical pillow. Use back support. Self massage the back of neck.

You can take tablet sinarest 1tablet three times a day for three days. Septillin syrup 2-2-2 laxmivilaas ras 1-1-1 vyoshaadi vati 2-2-2 dashmoolarishta kadha 2spoons twice orally with equal quantity of warm water. Avoid eating chilled and sour food items. Drink a glass of warm water empty stomach every morning.

The lower back consits of the end spinal segments, the sacrum coccyx, the muscular and neuro-vascular structures mainly. All these are important so as carry out the basic function of the back that is bending forward, carrying your body weight around, etc. If any of these are affected you may pain, tingling numbess, weakness,etc. As you have mentioned that the MRI was essentially normal, you can focus on the following line of treatment. 1) strengthening of the lower back mucles 2) strengthening of the hamstrings and the quadriceps 3) both above things will require a good physiotherapist 4) reduction of wieght if you are overwieght 5) avoidance of the repetitive strain like bike rides, faulty postures etc 6) for current pain management try hot fomentation, change of mattress, and any of the good over the counter muscle relaxant advised by your physician. Hi, please follow these tips to stop snoring: - reduce your weight if you are obese. - perform pranayama (breathing exercises) everyday. - quit smoking which irritates the mucosal layer of the nose and throat and causes blockage and results in snoring. - quit alcohol and sedatives which relax the throat muscles and results in snoring. - sleep on sides instead on back. - elevate the head by using a thick pillow which eases the breathing. - clear the nose before going to bed. - establish regular sleep pattern. - keep the bedroom air moist by using humidifier; as dry air irritates the mucosal membrane in thenose and throat. - perform throat exercises like repeating the vowels a, e, i, o, you loudly for 2-3 mins few times a day or keeping the tongue behind the teeth and moving it backwards - 3-4 times a day. - anti snoring appliances can also be used. Apply rumalaya liniment on the chest and the back 3 times a day and give hot water fomentation.

Hello Dr, I have a right hand side foot swelling due to blood clot underneath, so I could not walk freely what is to be done? the reason for blood clot in the foot due to 2wheeler vehicle fall and vehicle rested on the right foot. No other damages, thank god. Just 2 days happened.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. As you have written that the injury is only 2 days old, we need to rule out whether there is any bony injury or not and that can be confirmed by x ray. If there is no bony injury, then you should put crepe bandage with limb elevation. Intensive ice packs should be done at home. Local analgesic spray like dynapar qps can be used for local application after ice fomentation so that swelling and pain reduces. You can also take a gentle anti inflammatory medication for pain relief, medication to reduce swelling like chymoral forte may also be used depending upon the clinical condition. 7 months is long enough to probe into the matter. You should change your posture in routine which can be achieved by 1- change your chair 2- change your pillow 3- if possible, the bed or at least quilt should be changed 4- change your bike keep in touch, we will do something when even after changing things over a period of around 10 to 15 days. Some light exercises and investigations (, mri etc) after follow up then medicines. Regards.

As of now For pain take tablet paracetamol 650 mg and get an xray done for the affected areas and follow up with reports.
