• Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. • Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Kindly show me photograph& the x rays of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. The pain in knee and arm is not related to Alcohol. In any case he should reduce the pegs to one. For pain he needs to do yoga asans like Bhujang asan, Makarasan, in which the neck is bent backwards. Avoid bending your neck forward as much as you can.

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Hello indigestion is your main problem. Do the following things. Avoid coldrinks do not eat fast food. Keep eating times rehgular. Do not eat late night. Do not eat too much spicy. Do not eat rice items in night. Do regular exercises. Early morning 30 mins walk is most important. Revert back if more guidance needed.

Hi I can understand your problem 1) avoid activities that make your symptoms worse 2) apply ice packs 3) start physiotherapy treatment as electrotherapy will reduce pain inflammation 4) exercise and manual therapy will help in pain free movement. It might be of osteoarthritis of degenerative changes in knee joints for this you can have ift physiotherapy treatment for 10 days followed by static quadriceps exercise from the therapist regarding prostate problem kindly seek urologist opinion as it is not going to affect his knee joints

Hello. lybrate-user. If the pain is rradiating from neck to arm for last 6 months despite taking medications. I would advise you to undergo cervical spine MRI. Although proper and through clinical examination would help me better diagnose the issue, based on your symptoms MRI is recommended. If there is compression of nerve roots or cord exercise would not help, in fact it may worsen the problem.

Exercise regularly including stretching, yoga and exercises by lying on back. Do not sit at one place for longer time, avoid bending and lifting heavy weight. Apply orthomove oil over back twice daily. You may need internal medication. Consult for that.

Requires detailed investigation and examination Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days, inform.

Hi, actually the question is for help/medical advice for my wife who is now completing 50 yrs and is under phase of stoppage of menstrual cycle (i think it is called menopause) and is now having some problems of joint pains particularly in knees and also swelling in legs particularly on upper portion of both feets. Can you please advice tests and medical treatment she should excercise. Weight increase is the normal part of this phase? please advice and reply asap.

Yes if she is around 50 years then from an orthopedic point of view you need to get her: 1) serum calcium and vitamin d levels 2) dexa scan to estimate bone density 3) swelling is not usually an orthopaedic issue unless there is a history of any injury which has led to it but thyroid profile is important to rule out as hypothyroidism can lead to swelling there are other tests to see what can be the cause of swelling but that is best advised by a general physician after clinical examination. . Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily – Lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana? Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.
