It can b due to prolong sitting on hard surface or may be due to sudden fall but if any of this not happened you need to be examined physically.

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings.

Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Neck pain can be due to several reasons.

Some causes of chronic stiffness and pain in neck and upper back are:

Muscle strains
Sitting for long hours, poor posture, prolonged driving, reading while sleeping, improper sleeping habits can cause muscle tightness and strain.

Joint degeneration
Ageing can cause wearing out of neck joints, bulging discs and small bone spurs can grow on the side of the spine causing severe pain.

Nerve pinching
Discs or bone spurs can cause pinching of nerves which can cause tingling or numbness in hands and weakness. The pinched nerves can refer pain down the arm or upper back area.

Injuries
Car accidents causing sudden jerking of neck called whiplash injuries cause strain in the neck muscles.

Diseases
Some diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, meningitis, cancer etc can also cause neck pain.

For immediate relief of neck pain and tightness try these simple stretches: (check with your doctor if you can do these exercises if you have severe pain and or numbness)

*sit up straight and try to look behind you without moving your back. Hold 15 seconds and repeat 3 times both sides.

*draw you chin in as if trying to get double chin. Hold 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times.

*tilt your neck sideways till you feel a nice stretch. Hold 15 seconds. Repeat 3 times each side.

Hello- here are some tips to protect your cervical spondylitis- about 90 per cent of the population will suffer from back or neck pain when they reach adulthood, says a/prof tan. When it comes to the back, prevention is best. 1. Take short frequent breaks away from the computer. 2. Sit up straight on and off every 10-15 minutes, periodically stand up, 3. Walk around and stretch every hour. 4. Do regular stretching and strengthening exercises. 5. Keep the top of the computer screen at eye-level. This way you will be looking down at the screen at a 15- to 20-degree angle which is less strenuous on the neck. Adopt a good sitting posture sit upright and make sure both the feet are on the floor, and the elbows, knees, hips and ankles are at a 90-degree angle. Place a cushion against the back of the chair to support the lower back. When typing for prolonged periods, sit close to the table and rest the elbows on the table to relieve stress from the shoulders and neck.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily.
