Hello, It's good to reduce weight at right time as many problems are directly related to overweight! Go through the following guidelines and implement them in your routine: Management: 1: Drink plenty of water (at least 2-3 l/d) or other calorie-free beverages. 2: Be choosy about nighttime snacks. 3: Enjoy your favorite foods. 4: Have 6 meals per day - 3 main courses and 3 snack meals (snack meals should be healthy). 5: Do regular exercises daily (start with light and later may be little vigorous) . Exercise decreases the stress hormone in your body, burns calories and also increases the blood circulation. Preferably brisk walking, swimming, cycling, skipping. 6: Eat seasonal fruits. Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth thanks to its natural sugars, while fresh vegetables help you fill up more quickly. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber to help you feel full quickly. 7: Eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 8: Choose lean proteins instead of fatty ones. 9: Cut the salt from your diet. Eating more sodium causes your body to retain water, which can cause you to feel bloated and gain more weight. 10: Don't skip meals. When you skip meals, your body stops breaking down fat and starts breaking down muscle tissue. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than other tissues, so you're actually working against your goals 11: Eat at home. Going out to eat makes it too easy to cheat. Food sold at restaurants is commonly much higher in fat, sodium, and other weight-loss killers. 12: Give yourself a treat now and then. If you're attending a party or going out for a special occasion, allow yourself an indulgence. Just make sure that these indulgences don't become daily habits. 13: Go for a health walk. Gear up yourself daily for a health walk which not only shed off your extra calorie, but also reduces the stress levels. 14: Take small frequent breaks for a quick walk in between as sitting for long hours together encourages the accumulation of fat in the body! Medication: Start taking Schwabe's Phytolacca Berry tablets/ thrice daily 1/2 an hr before the meals for 1 month. Thereafter revert me back for further guidance. All the best!

I am suffering from bipolar disorder with insomnia, please advise medicine with best regards.
Dear lybrate-user, Sleeping tablet is not the only solution to sleep problems. If your mood is stabilised with lithium, then you may not have mania or depression at present (both have sleep problem as their early warning sign). Please discuss with your psychiatrist about sleep so that she/he can diagnose any sleep disorder that needs treatment.

Dear sir, I am suffering from portal cavernosa, gall bladder stones, two veins from liver to spleen has been blocked, constipation some time lose motion, and stomach bloats. Digestion problem but having good appetite.

MBBS, M.S. General Surgery

Dear sir,
I am suffering from portal cavernosa, gall bladder stones, two veins from liver to spleen has been blocked...
Take the positive aspect you have first. You do have a good appetite. Constipation and loose motions can be overcome when you have the right type of food. High fiber diet, fruits, vegetables, drink about 2 liters of water a day at least. This diet would even reduce the bloating feeling of the abdomen. In your case, taking smaller amount of food may be five times a day is better than consuming larger amount of food three times a day. Regarding gall stones and blocked hepato-splenic veins, please do consult a gastroenterologist regarding management.

appendicitis is typically treated with iv antibiotics and surgery after 4-6 wk interval. removal of appendix is a major surgery . you will not feel any pain because of general anaesthesia during surgery. you can treat appendicitis with antibiotics before going for definitive cure by surgery.

Is it safe to drink pasteurized milk without boiling ? And Is it safe to eat egg without boiling? I want to increase weight and physique please help me.

Is it safe to drink pasteurized milk without boiling ? And
Is it safe to eat egg without boiling?
I want to increase ...
You do not have to boil pasteurized milk if it is in a tetra pack but if it is in plastic saches then you need to boil it. No eating raw eggs as it has an anti nutrient which can cause problem with absorbtion. Weight gain is muscle gain and not fat gain. In your condition your energy requirement is very high so whatever you eat is used as a source of energy and you do not make muscle. To gain muscles you will have to eat at least 6 meals (high calorie) in a day at a regular interval with a proper ratio of proteins and carbohydrates. Proteins will help you gain body mass while carbohydrates will help you give energy. Protein foods are eggs, fish, chicken, milk and milk products, meat and dals. Carbohydrate foods are roti and rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes. You have to eat vegetables and fruits and use healthy and good fats for cooking like ghee, cold pressed mustrad or til oil. You will also have to do some weight training exercise to help you build mass into the body. Also drink enough water to keep you hydrated.
