Hello- at this time of age women are near to menopause and certain metabolic and hormonal changes occurs in females causing calcium deficiency and hence causing osteopenia. The pain is due to low blood calcium level. Try these ayurvedic supplements as they are safe and does not burden load on kidney functions as elemental calcium supplements do- a) maharasnadi kadha 2 tsp twice daily. B) tab asthiposhak 1 twice daily. C) increase cows ghee and milk in her diet, and avoid spicy diet.

Human back is an amazing example of biological engineering. It provides the basic framework on which the skull, Ribs, Pelvis, and shoulder bones are attached. Can we imagine the human shape without a backbone? We would have looked like a gunny bag filled with some putty like material and would have had no shape of our own. It would have been impossible to lift or carry any object from one place to another.

When we speak of back, we usually mean spinal column which is extending from the back of the skull to pelvis in a graceful yet extremely strong double S shaped curve. This natural architectural masterpiece of human skeleton consists of 33 blocks of bones called vertebra. They are given different names according to the region of the spine they belong to.

In the neck, they are called cervical vertebra.

In the upper back (Chest) they are called Dorsal vertebra.

In the lower back, they are called Lumbar vertebra.

In the tail bone, they are called Coccyx

The vertebrae are hollow structures. The hollow of all vertebrae put together makes a long tunnel through which the tail of the brain (spinal cord) runs. The width of the spinal canal is almost equal to the thickness of a finger.

Vertebra resembles a house in shape and functions.

As a house protects its residents, so does the vertebra protects the spinal cord.

I work in accounts and due to my writing habit I choose noting everything, but at the end of day my fingers mostly the thumb starts paining. As firstly it was not such bad as now it hurts more. Please help.

Here most of every one commented on back pain. I know it is commonest problem. And it needs to be addressed.

Exercise and advice what all physios have posted are excellent.

List out as below:-
Muscle strength
aerobic conditioning
Stretching muscle
Posture
Weight loss to change angle of the spine
Dynamic and static stretching
Important of all neural stretch to maintain neural flexibility as most of the sedentary people develop stiff muscles and that leads to decrease neural mobility with due to pinching or getting compressed within the muscles or entry and exit between the muscles. Main nerves for neural stretch is sciatic nerve.
that is the commonest affected. Please do consider in your practices as it will provide a very good outcome for back pain.

Hyee doctor suddenly some day's I woke up and my lower back so pain can you please tell me what can I do about this.

1) avoid those activities which increases your pain. Eg: forward bending etc 2) one should find out the cause of your pain eg: if the pain has started suddenly, it could be a muscle pull while playing or bending or long stretch driving. Once the cause is known, treatment can be done accordingly. Mean while, focus on the following points: 1) place a cushion and support your back while driving/sitting. 2) check on your footwears. Bad footwear leads to back pain 3) place a pillow under your knees while sleeping straight and between your both knees while sleeping side lying (this technique helps to relax your muscles) 4) use a hot water bag/ heat belt to the painful area, heat will improve the blood flow to the muscles. 5) perform certain isometrics as well as strengthening and stretching exercises. Hello Sir, I am 25 years old male. And I have been suffering from severe back pain, neck stiffness, sometimes headaches too. I got my mri ct scan done but no bone deformity appeared in it. This pain n neck stiffness is there from last 2 years. and condition has now worsened as there are some kind of movements in my nerves. Sometimes on cheek. Sometimes on shoulders. Sometimes on thighs. Sometimes on my palms too. Actually there is a very rapid movement of nerves below my skin and it happens anytime. I am not able to bend for more than 5 mins to iron my clothes or even I can't sit for more than 5-10 mins without a back support. Can you please tel me what's the main problem that's troubling me.

Pain may right hand may be due to muscular pain, nerve pain and acidity. You need to take some precaution like avoid much strain to hand, get nutritious diet which help relieve in contipation. Hi, neck and back pain is common problem in it professtionals bcz of long sitting and constant work on pcs which affects the spine. If you do not have arm pain its ok, otherwise you required clinical evaluation. You have to stregthen your spine and neck pain, wear soft collar to neck, take intermittent break every 1 hour, do neck exercises. If pain more consult orthospine surgeon. Tq.

If you have pain in the distal joints ie. wrist, fingers, ankle, toes then you can wear then you can do hot water fermentation in that area to reduce the inflammation. Please wear Knee Brace / Elbow Brace / Wrist Brace so that you will feel warm, comfortable and very protective .

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit.D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. My mother is 70 yes old. She has swollen legs with reddish appearance around the feet. Sometimes urination is not regular. Pain in leg and back joints. She is facing problems in walking. She takes medicines for sugar diamicorn xr 60 1 tab daily. Durajoint 1 tab daily. She has asthma problem. She takes esiflow inhaler and nebulization if required.
