I'm a 20 year old male, recently having severe anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and fear for no reason. I've been noticing new white hair on my head daily, and my eyebrows seem to be thinning quickly. I also feel great stress for no reason and breakout in nervous sweats randomly. Any help is much appreciated, curious if there is some connection between the hairloss/color change and the stress, or if its just an anxiety disorder. I should note I've always had a slight anxiety issue, but never this bad, worsened in the past several months.

Dear Soumen. Welcome to lybrate. I do understand. You are correct. There is relationship between stress and hair loss and premature greying of hair. Stress and anxiety creates havoc in your body and those results are seen in your head too. You are having panic attacks. Proper treatment using psychotherapy, relaxation therapy and life style changes are essential for a cure. Please do not delay and consult a sychologist online. Take ccare.

Don't Be Depressed! Homeopathy Would Help You Overcome Your Blues

Don't Be Depressed! Homeopathy Would Help You Overcome Your Blues

Homeopathy is a medical science, which is used to cure diseases and is based on the principle of "like cures like". It was developed by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann who was a general physician by profession in Germany. The concept, "like cures like" may sound a bit weird, but it is proved to be successful and homeopathy treatment for any ailment is preferred worldwide. Depression is a kind of mental ailment or disease, which could make a person lose hope of living life and results in hopelessness and sadness.

There seems no cure to your problems. But in homeopathy we have all the answers to your problems. First we need the signs and symptoms to identify depression. Homeopathy medicines are totally natural and have fewer side effects than allopathic versions.

Types of depression:

  1. Depression due to stress
  2. Depression due to menopause
  3. Depression due to workload
  4. Depression in teenagers
  5. Depression in old people
  6. Major depression
  7. Atypical depression
  8. Dysthymia
  9. Seasonal Affective Disorder

Symptoms of depression are:

  1. Feeling hopeless and sad: The first signal or symptom is the feeling of hopelessness. In this, the patient loses the hope in everything. They feel like being trapped in some kind of cage, from which they are not able to come out.
  2. Lack of interest in anything: Everything seems to be of no use or interest, even your daily work. You don't want to do anything; even the things, which you loved to do like your hobbies and passions, which you no longer find interesting.
  3. Sleep irregularity: Insomnia or oversleeping. Either you sleep too much or do not sleep at all. This could be because of work or other stress in your personal or professional life.
  4. Irritation or unnecessarily getting angry: You start losing your temper easily and that too for silly reasons. You think you are losing control.
  5. Appetite problems: You either stress eat too much or too less or sometimes not at all. You are not willing to even eat your favourite dish is a sign of depression.'
  6. Concentration problems: You can't focus or concentrate on a particular thing for a long time.
  7. Frustration: You start feeling worthless and might even think of ending your life and getting out of this problem. Your behaviour changes and you can't think properly on one topic.

No need to get disheartened if the above symptoms are plaguing you, because the solution of your problem is in homeopathy. Homeopathy medicines do not have side effects and they remove the ailment from the roots. Medicines like Arsenicum Album, Ignatia, Natrum Muriaticum, Sepia help in various kinds of depressions. These should be taken in proper quantity as directed by the physician to get cured properly.

Suicidal Ideas

Its very common to have suicidal ideas while you are depressed. This is time you must go to a psychiatrist and take medications. Simple advice won't be useful at this level. Simple counselling wont lead to any wonder if you are harbouring suicidal thoughts. Never neglect in this stage as you can save yourself or the one you love.

I am 31 year old male suffering from serious anxiety disorder with digestion problem from past 9 years. I have blurred vision and giddiness. Very scared of closed spaces. Taking etlaam ds from past 4 years, but no use at all. Just wanted to check whether paxil 12.5mg will work, or do I need to take anything else. Kindly suggest.

Thanks for your query. Behaviour therapy can be very useful in your case than drugs. Fear of closed spaces is usually secondary to some subconcious cause which you may have in your mind. It is important that you undergo counselling with a psychotherapist to uncover what was the triggering factor to develop fear of closed spaces. Once that fear is resolved you will cope better. If you have any further query please ask.

What Is Stress ?

LCPS, BAM&S
General Physician, Pune
What Is Stress ?

Stress is not mental tension. Stress is burden on your body and mind. When it is within your capacity, it improves your system. You feel energetic. When it outgrows your capacity, you feel tired and weak. Burden could be physical, like working day and night without rest. Or it could be financial burden. An impending wedding or hospitalization can be a cause of your stress. If you are hiding something in the mind for a long time, it becomes a cause of your stress.

Work related stress is usually overworking beyond 8 hours. Continuous focussing on job cause mental fatigue. Young persons don't feel it. So they overlook it and continue working. Initial first symptoms could be heartburn, indigestion, headache, bodyache or infections. Later you have high blood pressure, kidney stone, gout, skin diseases. Still later thyroid, diabetes, pcod, liver disease raise their head.

Stress is the root cause. If it is not treated, your disease will keep on increasing and your dependence on medicine will continue.

Stammering is typically recognised by a tense struggle to get words out. This makes it different from the normal non-fluency we all experience which includes hesitations and repetitions. Commonly it involves repeating or prolonging sounds or words, or getting stuck without any sound (silent blocking). Sometimes people put in extra sounds or words. Often people lose eye contact. Some people who stammer talk their way round difficult words so that you may not realise they stammer at all. This avoidance of words, and avoidance of speaking in some or many situations, is an important aspect of stammering. Stammering varies tremendously from person to person and is highly variable for the person who stammers who may be fluent one minute and struggling to speak the next. How to concentrate on studies and increase memory power .and stop having dirty thought in mind and avoid having super sex desire.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Sex drive is very common in this age and is normal. If you feel excessive sleep or tiredness/ head spinning or vertigo like feeling you have to make sure you have no anaemia or hypothyroidism by doing a blood CBC & TSH and inform me directly 10 Study Tips to Improve Your Learning Study Tip 1: Underlining Underlining is one of the simplest and best known study tips. It’s easy to highlight the most significant parts of what you’re reading. One key sentence per paragraph and a few important phrases here and there. You can only retain a certain amount so it’s best to retain the most important information. Study Tip 2: Make your own note and taking notes is one of the most widespread study skills out there. Essentially the aim of note-taking is to summarise lectures or articles in your own words so you can easily remember the ideas. Study Tip 3: Mind mapping A good Mind map can save you many hours of study and further consolidate your knowledge for your exams. Mind Maps are an extremely versatile tools. They can be used for brainstorming, outlining essays or study topics and for general exam preparation, ExamTime offers the ability to create Mind Maps quickly and easily which makes them the ideal tool when it comes to exams. Study Tip 4: Flash cards:- Using these are a particularly effective method of learning when trying to assimilate different facts, dates, formulas or vocabulary. Subjects such as History, Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Geography or any language are made much easier if you incorporate Flashcards in to your study. Study Tip 5: Case Studies Sometimes it can be difficult to grasp the implications of some theories. This is where studying case studies can be a big help. Case studies can help you visualise a theory and place it in a more familiar and realistic context. This is especially useful in business or law subjects. Study Tip 6: Quizzes are an excellent way to review study notes in the weeks and days before an exam. Quizzes can show where your strengths and weaknesses are, so it allows you to focus your efforts more precisely. Moreover, if you share your Study Quiz with your classmates and test each other as much as possible you can discover even more details and areas you may have overlooked. So before any exam, make sure you create and share a bunch of different Quizzes with your Friends. Study Tip 7: Brainstorming This is another study technique that is ideal for studying with friends and/or classmates. Brainstorming is a great way to expand every possible idea out of any topic. Just get a bunch of friends together and shoot the breeze, there are no wrong answers when brainstorming – just talk and capture the ideas, you can review afterward. Study Tip 8: Mnemonic Rules Mnemonics are especially useful when memorising lists and sets. Mnemonics rules basically work by associating certain concepts with other concepts that are more familiar to us. There are many different ways to make mnemonics and these can be individual to the person. Study Tip 9: ORGANISE your study One of the most effective study skills is also one of the most often overlooked; this is organising your study. Creating a TIME TABLE gives you goals and a time in which to achieve them. Having a study timetable as you study is greatly motivational Study Tip 10: Drawing Many people find it easier to recall images rather than text that is why they are better able to memorise concepts if they associate them with pictures or drawings. If you find answer helpful please click on “helpful” tab for knowing my efforts are useful CONCENTRATION TIPS Here’s some tips to get into a state of deep concentration where work / or studies flow easily so that you can do well in examinations/ and or do your work well. 1) Cut Off the Noise Getting into a state of concentration can take at least fifteen minutes. If you are getting distracted every five, you can’t possibly focus entirely on your work. Request that people don’t interrupt you when working on a big project. If you are required to answer phones and drop-in’s immediately, schedule work when the office is less busy. 2) Structure Your Environment The place you work can have an impact on your ability to focus. Try to locate yourself so you are facing potential distractions such as doors, phones or windows. This way you can take a glance to assess sounds that would otherwise break your focus. 3) Clarify Objectives Know what your goal is clearly before you start. If you aren’t sure what the end result is, the confusion will make it impossible to focus. 4) Divide Blobs. If you have a large project that needs work, clearly identify a path that you will use to get started working on it. If the sequence of actions isn’t obvious, it will be difficult to concentrate. Taking a few minutes to plan not only your end result, but the order you will complete any steps, can save hours in wasted thinking. 5) Know the Rules Get clear on what the guidelines are for the task ahead. What level of quality do you need? What standards do you need to follow? What constraints are there? If the rules aren’t clear from the outset, you will slip out of concentration as you ponder them later. 6) Set a Deadline Deadlines have both advantages and disadvantages when trying to force concentration. A deadline can make it easier to forget the non-essential and speed up your working time. If you give yourself only an hour to design a logo, you will keep it simple and avoid fiddling with extravagant designs. Time limits have disadvantages when they cause you to worry about the time you have left instead of the task itself.

I am experiencing muscle twitching symptoms. I was a regular mild smoker but I quit since 0ct 20 2015. Then again on March 2 2016 and 15 May 2016 I smoked two cigarettes in a party. Soon after quitting the twitching problem disappeared gradually. As and when I smoke a cigarette the symptom reappear. Now I have resolved to quit smoking forever ang have been trying hard.

It is too obvious that smoking does not agree with your constitution at all. Quitting is the best option especially sine there seems to be some nerve damage or reaction that is happening immediately. Stay with your resolution and you will be fine. You may not realise this but you have made a life-saving decision and adhered to it.

Tell your friend that a boyfriend or a girl fried will be averse to talk to him as they can't bear the offensive smell from his mouth. Also tell your friend that his face will become dull, wrinkled and sickly apart from suffering many life threatening diseases at a later age. Homoeopathy has a treatment for this, which acts internally without adverse effects. 1. Homoeopathic medicines help in causing dislike and aversion towards tobacco. 2. If a person stops smoking, he may experience some discomforts, constipation which can be termed as'withdrawal symptoms' because of these symptoms, the person may revert back to smoking. Homoeo medicines help in overcoming such problems. 3. Homoeopathic medicines do not cause adverse effects. 4. Homoeopathic medicines are not addictive like some other medicines and drugs take arsenic alb 200---once daily in the morning.

My 3 years old daughter doesn't speak much. She says words to explain what she wants but she doesn't talk fluently. She is good with her motor skill, body balance. She even tries to trick me. I'm a single parent. My ex husband was violent with me in front of my daughter till she was around 2 years old. Is it possible that violence that my daughter has witnessed has effected her growth or language skill in someway. Also I work long hours each day, I hardly give my daughter 3-4 hrs a day. She is mostly with her maid. Should I seek some psychological treatment for my daughter?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Yes, the divorce and all the violence she has witnessed will have a bearing on this child. Being a girl child, she will also miss her father quite a bit now, and more later. It does not help that you don?t have much time to give her too. These years are most important to her and any way you can spend more time with her will diminish the total impact to a reasonable level, at least. Believe me, this is an investment with good dividends: otherwise you are looking at paying a great price for her and yourself, later. At this age she must talk incessantly, so this break up is certainly impacting her. She is angry and probably very sad. Divorce is always bad for the adults and worse for the kids. You have a responsibility to help her tide over the effects of this huge void in her life. You cannot obviously be father and mother to her, so a male figure around her will somewhat compensate this loss. You could go to a child psychologist both for assessment and some therapy. Don?t try to delay helping her on any front because it is easier to set things right as a preventive measure than as a curative one. She is already in a disturbed state but further negligence will lead to serious situations that at a later time even curative efforts may only nudge the issues and make it very difficult to do real justice.
