Hi, liquid foods can be boiled dal water, rice kanji, boiled black chana water, clear soup, kichidi ground in a mixi with buttermilk, coconut water, diluted fruit juices. For exercise advise I will recommend you to consult a physiotherapist.

The symptoms of migraine is as follows feeling dizzy or faint. increased sensitivity to light and sound. nausea. pain on one side of the head. pulsing and/or throbbing pain. vomiting. you can go for following remedy 1. Take ½ glass of carrot juice 2. Add ½ glass of spinach juice 3. Mix well 4. Drink this juice to cure migraine and for headache you can apply following remedy 1. Remove peels from 5 lemons 2. tegretol tablet total 500 mg potency is taken to contain fits, on reduction of potency fits occur, should it be continued or any alternative advice.

Hi Dr. I hav epilepsy since last many years. I am taking medicines of zenoxa OD 450 right now. Earlier I was taking zenoxa OD 600 and 900 under my Dr. (neurologist) guidance in last one year. So Dr. I just want to know is it this decease curable and is there is any chances that the seizures will not occur if I stop medicines after consulting with my Dr? Please make me aware about it. As you know well ,Epileptic drugs should not be stopped suddenly, If higher doses are no longer required, Doses are tappered graduall, under guidance of Neurologists. in most cases chances of recurrence are low .but it also depends upon the type & cause of epilepsy.

I am 18 years old and I have been suffering from migraine since last 9 years. I had taken number of medical treatments for this but doesn't get relief. Please suggest me something that would help me to get rid of this severe pain.

A. Causes-: Improper metabolism, Suppression of natural urges, anger, jealousy, grief, poor elimination, intake of dry, pungent and salty food, intake of polluted food, mental and physical stress, viewing of TV for long periods, reading with insufficient light, sleeplessness etc. B. Origin of migraine headache-: Due to the causative factors, Pitta Dosha obstructs the flow of Vata dosha in brain, causing throbbing pain. C. Pain Management-: 1. Avoiding the cause and trigger factors. 2. Keeping a diary record of specific foods eaten, environmental exposure, sleep patterns may help to identify personal trigger factors. 3. Sneha nasya therapy at home-: Sneha nasya, instillation of medicated oils to the nostrils by Shadbindu tailam or Anu tailam yield significant benefits. 4. Apply a paste of freshly ground clay or freshly ground sandalwood to the forehead, let dry, rub off by hand and wash. 5. Mix ¼ teaspoon of clove powder with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon oil. Apply this paste on the affected area for 20-30 minutes. 6. Add chamomile powder to 1 cup of boiling water. Transfer the liquid to a cup. Drink when hot. It gives fast relief from migraine. 7. Take ½ glass of carrot juice. Add ½ glass of spinach juice. Mix well. Drink this juice twice daily. 8. Grind 10-12 grains of black pepper and 10-12 grains of rice with water to make it a paste. Apply this paste on affected area of the head for 15-20 minutes. 9. Sugar powder 16 parts, Vamshalochana 8 parts, Pippali (long pepper) 4 parts, Ela (Cardamom) 2 parts, Cinnamon – 1 part. Make fine powder and mix it, keep in tight moisture free container. Take half teaspoon thrice daily with honey. 10. Aromatherapy- Pitta calming aromas typically flower fragnances like Lily, Cloves, Lotus, Lavender, Peppermint, Rose, Sandalwood are beneficial. 11. According to ayurveda Virechan (Laxative therapy) is an effective way to reduce excess pitta. Castor oil or warm milk with ghee or triphla at bedtime is helpful. 12. Practicing meditation is highly recommended. 13. Morning and Evening walk followed by brisk exercise is recommended. 14. Avoid hard physical exertional exercises and aggresive sports competitions. 15. Avoid working for long hours continuously; take short breaks. Have a good night’s sleep (8hrs) in a dark room. D. Diet: ~~Apple, mango, papaya, cheeku, guava. ~~Salad 1hr before lunch, 1hr before dinner. ~~Buttermilk, boiled rice sauted with cinnamon, cumin seeds and garlic or asfoetida are good in the daytime. ~~Have warm and easily digestible foods, boiled and steamed vegetables, soups, vegetable juices, porridge, brown rice and whole-wheat flour. ~~Avoid yogurt, especially at night. ~~Avoid refined, oily, spicy, cold, sour foods (fermented, pickled) and stale food, aerated drinks. ~~Avoid coffee, tea, alcohol, smoking. ~~Avoid cheese, chocolate and wine. E. Yogasanas and Pranayama: Hastapadasana, Setu Bandhasana, Marjariasana, Paschimottanasana, Bhastrika and Anulom-Vilom Pranayama. NOTE: When suffering from a migraine attack: ~Lie down in a dark, quiet place & get some sleep. ~~Avoid eating. ~~Drink only water. ~~Apply hot or cold compresses. ~~ Consult doctor.

Hi I'm a 17 years old Female from Mumbai - I have constant migraine and irregular periods after and during my homeopathy treatment for sines (sines is now cured )i also have upper and lower back pain along with with my tailbone. And whenever I masturbate I feel lightheadeD and restless for throughout the week ar month. I had my blood test and it showed I had no thyroid but my level of VITAMIN B12 was low so i've been having dairy products and a B12 syrup. and I suddenly feel very hot and after few min I feel very cold, and my face swells during a very bad migraine I feel drowsy and whenever I wake up after sleeping my feet and back aches (my weight is 73 kg) please help me.

At your age migraine is common especially in young females with stress of studies to add. Migraine is a relapsing kind of headache. The treatment of migraine is mainly done for relief from acute headache attacks and later treatments to prevent future relapses. Treatment of factors like anxiety, strata, depression, vitamin deficiencies etc which tend to cause relapses is also important. There is no drug of choice or as such a best medicine for migraine. Treatment has to be individualised after taking into consideration patient factors and the history of migraine in the patient. For long term relief and prevention of relapses, consult a headache specialist an psychiatrist for a complete evaluation and treatment.

I am facing a problem of finger shivering. My hands shake a lot. My fingers do shiver while holding a cup of tea or while doing some task. This problem of mine is also making me in depression. Hi Mr. lybrate-user, This may be because of drug abuse side effects. Better take an master health check up and treat accordingly. If it's normal, then it may be anxiety disorder features. Get treated for that. Eat protein rich food.

Hi, welcome to lybrate. Com I am here to help you. Amitone is not related to sleep. Don't worry about it most causes of sleeplessness are due to wrong habits and the good news is that it is very very easy to cure them 1. You have to first have a natural circadian rhythm a. Try to go to sleep and get up at the same time every day. B. And wake at the same time 2. Food a. Do not take coffee or tea after 6 pm b. Milk can be taken 3. Light a. Cover the windows and doors with curtains and avoid light b. Avoid watching tv lying in bed c. Avoid mobile phones / tablets 4. Exercise a. Walk for 45 minutes after dinner b. Hi there, I appreciate that you got the courage to have your question answered on a public forum. Dementia can greatly affect a person's relationship to food and eating. The behavioural, emotional and physical changes that take place as dementia progresses can all have an impact upon a person's eating habits and on their intake of food and drink. It is important to do what you can to make sure that the person you are caring for enjoys their food and eats a healthy, balanced diet. As dementia progresses eating can become difficult for some people. However, by making a few changes you can help keep mealtimes as enjoyable and stress free as possible. Proper nutrition is important to keep the body strong and healthy. For a person with Alzheimer's or dementia, poor nutrition may increase behavioral symptoms and cause weight loss. The basic nutrition tips below can help boost the person with dementia's health and your health as a caregiver, too. Provide a balanced diet with a variety of foods. Offer vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy products and lean protein foods. Limit foods with high saturated fat and cholesterol. Some fat is essential for health — but not all fats are equal. Go light on fats that are bad for heart health, such as butter, solid shortening, lard and fatty cuts of meats. Cut down on refined sugars. Often found in processed foods, refined sugars contain calories but lack vitamins, minerals and fiber. You can tame a sweet tooth with healthier options like fruit or juice-sweetened baked goods. But note that in the later-stages of Alzheimer's, if loss of appetite is a problem, adding sugar to foods may encourage eating. Limit foods with high sodium and use less salt. Most people in the United States consume too much sodium, which affects blood pressure. Cut down by using spices or herbs to season food as an alternative. People with Alzheimer's or dementia do not need a special diet. As with anyone, eating a well-balanced, nutritious diet is important for overall health. As the disease progresses, loss of appetite and weight loss may become concerns. In such cases, the doctor may suggest supplements between meals to add calories. Staying hydrated may be a problem as well. Encourage fluids by offering small cups of water or other liquids throughout the day or foods with high water content, such as fruit, soups, milkshakes and smoothies. I hope this helps. Migraine - Know The Causes and Symptoms!

Migraine is a severe form of headache wherein, the excruciating pain is accompanied by an extreme sensitivity to sound and light; you also experience nausea. The headaches usually affect either side of the head and are throbbing in nature. Hot flashes, numbness of limbs and blind spots in the eye; these are often considered as warnings. In certain cases, migraines can cause blackouts that can range from a few seconds to a few minutes.

Migraine occurs in four stages:

  1. Pro-drome (symptom indicative of an onset of an illness)
  2. Aura (visual auras including blurred vision)
  3. Headache
  4. Post-drome (the residual effects of migraine characterized by fatigue and lethargy)

But the occurrence of these stages varies across individuals. The causes of migraines aren’t specifically understood. It may be due to the interaction of the brain stem with the trigeminal nerve, which is an important pain pathway of the brain. Imbalances in hormonal levels or in the levels of neurotransmitters such as serotonin may also prove to be a causal factor.

Symptoms

Migraine may be triggered due to stress, physical exertion, and excess intake of alcohol or food additives such as MSG (Monosodium Glutamate). Changes in the environment and sleeping patterns may also be probable culprits.

Migraine can be easily distinguished from regular headaches, given the fact that migraines last longer and are rather severe in nature with pain felt in one part of the head. Most people experience the ‘Aura’stage where they have visual flashes right before headache. Nausea, eye pain or sensitivity to light and sound are other factors helpful in distinguishing migraine from other headaches.

Symptoms can occur a while before headache, immediately before headache, during headache and after headache. Although not all migraines are the same.

Typical symptoms include:

  • Moderate to severe pain, usually confined to one side of the head during an attack, but can occur on either side of the head
  • The pain is usually a severe, throbbing, pulsing pain
  • Increasing pain during physical activity
  • Inability to perform regular activities due to pain
  • Feeling sick and physically being sick
  • Increased sensitivity to light and sound, relieved by lying quietly in a darkened room
  • Some people experience other symptoms such as sweating, temperature changes, tummy ache and diarrhea.

Complications in migraine may include:

  1. Chronic migraine which last up to 15 days or more
  2. Status Migrainosus where the attacks last for over 3 days
  3. Migrainous infarction where the aura lasts longer than it should, cutting blood supply to the brain.

You are having eye strain due to use of computer Computer Eye Strain is known as computer vision syndrome Please follow the advice given below. 1. Take a break-Use 20-20 rule, Take a break for 20 second after working in computer for 20 minutes and look at some thing 20 feet away. 2.Blink Frequently to prevent dryness of eyes 3.Use of computer glass- it optimises your eye sight when you are looking at digital screen and helps to decrease glare 4. Keep your monitor bright- this decreases flicker 5. Use proper lighting like incandescent light 6. check position of monitor- monitor should be placed 4-5inches below eye level and 20-28 inches from eyes 7. Adjust, screen resolution 8.Minimise glare- clean monitor regularly to remove dust and place an anti glare screen 9.Try massage or eye cupping- Massaging the area around the eye will relax eye muscle. Rub your hands together to create friction and warmth, then gently cup your palm over the closed eye and rest them 10. Take multivitamin tablet containing vitamin A,C,E, B complex, Zinc and antioxidant (one capsule of Revital daily after Breakfast) 11. Go for yearly eye examination
