My is brother 35 years old is suffering from renal kidney failure disease since from last 2 years month after month his S. creatnine is becoming high 2.58 to now 5.83 all doctors said when its come to 8 or 9 he has to go for dialysis or kidney transplant. Do you have any other solution to stop or to control this.

I will suggest that the moment his urine output has stopped or has decreased to cause symptoms we should go for dialysis and till than we should take care that his creatine levels come down after treating the cause

Generally calcium supplements donor cause kidney stones. But as a diabetic your kidney function needs to be monitored ie renal function tests. Uti is common in diabetics and has nothing to do with calcium supplements. To prevent stones and uti, you need to increase your fluid intake and avoid food items which hv seeds like guavas, pomegranates, ladyfinger, brinjal.

Hi Sir, How can we control nephrotic syndrome. Yeh kis age tak hota hai bacho ko? Meri daughter 16 mnths ki thi jab se start hua h. Urine mai protein 4+ tak jata h. Is it right ki ye 15 years ki age ke baad repeat nahi hota.

DM - Nephrology, MBBS Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery, MD - Medicine
Nephrologist, Gurgaon
Dear Lybrate user. Nephrotic syndrome is quite commonly seen in between 2-8 years and it responds well (almost 90% children go into complete remission or protein in urine becomes nil) to steroids. There is a proportion of children who again start loosing protein in urine but it does respond very well to a repeat course of steroids. A very small proportion of children would need some treatment other then steroids because of poor response to steroids. But for proper consultation would need to physically see the child first.

You possibly have a urinary tract infection which could be on account of the stone. Need to treat the UTI based on your urine test results. Stone management would depend on multiple factors such as size and evidence of any obstruction.
