There is no special diet for a person with diabetes, but certain restrictions should be followed. Like avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, white bread, other bakery items, sweetened aerated drinks and high fat milk products. Should consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits about 100 g a day. Food should include complex carbohydrates, so that sugar rise is slow. Total caloric intake has to be based on ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and blood sugar levles. On treatment you should strive to maintain fastinf around 100 mg, pp150 to 160 mg and hba1c% 6.8. That will keep you healthy and fit plus serious complications of diabetes will be kept away. Thanks.

Hello sir I am suffering from chest pain plus back around 3 to 4 years but suddenly from last month this pain is not bearable. Generally weight gain can be due to a lot of reasons. -unhealthy lifestyle -excessive intake of sugars and extra calories. -alcohol consumption -stress correction of lifestyle is the solution. -sleep for at least 7-8 hrs -exercise for at least 30 minutes everyday -drink at least 2.5-3 liters of water -eat mindfully -stay away from stress. Indulge in meditation.

First reason you already explained smoking, second main reason for this is iron deficiency which leads to dehydration by ceasing mucus production, smoking also causes dryness, so keep your throat hydrated with fresh fruits with pulp like banana, guava, mango chickoo, papaya, do not take cold drinks, junk food, start with iron rich diet, honey jaggery, raisins and most imprtant in your case do not do salt water gargling, this will further dehydrate your throat.

Dear lybrate-user, Congratulations for your decision not to smoke. When you are only one cigarette a day, it is easier to stop it fully. Sometimes stopping cigarettes give a mild headache. It will disappear after few weeks, if you don't restart smoking. However the site of your headache indicates, it might be an ENT problem. Consult ENT doctor.

Your weight should be around 80 to 90 kg with muscles. You need a weight gain diet. Weight gain is muscle gain and not fat gain. In your condition your energy requirement is very high so whatever you eat is used as a source of energy and you do not make muscle. To gain muscles you will have to eat at least 6 meals (high calorie) in a day at a regular interval with a proper ratio of proteins and carbohydrates. Proteins will help you gain body mass while carbohydrates will help you give energy. Protein foods are eggs, fish, chicken, milk and milk products, meat and dals. Carbohydrate foods are roti and rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes. You have to eat vegetables and fruits and use healthy and good fats for cooking like ghee, cold pressed mustrad or til oil. You will also have to do some weight training exercise to help you build mass into the body. Also drink enough water to keep you hydrated.

107 Fasting Sugar is in normal range. You have not mentioned PP level. Also A1C test will give confirmatory results. Type of Diabetes is Type 2 since you must have had this problem in adulthood. Your BMI is currently 39.82 which falls in Obese Cl 2. Closer to Cl 3. Your body is carrying about 32 kgs extra weight. You need to work on this and bring your weight down. Every step you take will help you to reduce your Diabetes Levels and other symptoms you are facing. I can presume you are on to some food addictions. Find a way to break them. Better to join some organised aerobic/dance/yoga classes. Eat more fruits and salads and drink more water. You are young today and you can take steps to be fitter and healthier. Never give up.
