Devendra you are having yellow teeth. You need to improve your oral hygiene and digestion. Visit dental surgeon for scaling and polishing. Get bleaching done, drink plenty of water, rinse with listerine mouthwash. Lastly if need be get capping done. Cost is variable depends upon treatment.

If by cleaning you are refering to scaling procedure. Then may be it was enough to clear your gum problem. You may have to under go root planing or flap surgery which ever is applicable in your case.

Are there any alternatives to killing bacteria in the mouth and throat?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,
Rinse your mouth thoroughly with an anti bacterial mouth wash after every meal. Advise t. Azithral 500mg 6 tab, twice daily daily, c. Becosules 1-0-0 once daily all for 3 days only. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

You have cavity in your teeth, that may be the reason for pus discharge. Cavity for long time develops chronic infection. It can spread to your adjacent facial spaces in acute exacerbation. It does not spread to brain. Tooth can be saved by root canal if adequate structure is left. Better consult dentist in person at clinic.

My teeth are yellow in colour I brush daily more time still I did not get white.

BDS
Dentist,
Yellowness of teeth is in not always due to the external deposition of tartar or stains. If your teeth are pale from within the tooth they probably need a process called bleaching, for your teeth to get white. However over brushing is going to damage your teeth in the form of attrition so don't do more than twice daily. Consult a dentist for bleaching.

All About Bad Breath

Dentist, Navi Mumbai
All About Bad Breath

Bad breath, also known as halitosis, can occur due to a multitude of reasons and is quite disconcerting. Chewing gum, using breath mints and mouthwash are just temporary solutions as they do not address the problem. Read on more to find all about the different causes, symptoms of bad breath and also about their prevention.

Causes:

  1. Food: If food particles, which are stuck in and around your teeth start decaying, they promote bacterial growth, which causes a foul odor in the mouth. Eating certain foods, such as spices, onion and garlic also cause foul odor.
  2. Tobacco products: Smoking and chewing tobacco not only causes gum disease, but also causes a foul odor to be present, thus causing bad breath.
  3. Poor dental hygiene: If you do not brush daily, food particles in your mouth get stuck in your mouth between the teeth in particular, which decay and cause bad breath. A form of bacteria known as plaque forms over the teeth, which over time decays teeth and also causes foul breath.
  4. Dry mouth: A medical condition known as dry mouth, also known as xerostomia can contribute to bad breath as in this condition; the amount saliva produced from the salivary glands is reduced. This results in the growth of bacteria, which causes bad breath.
  5. Medications: Some medications can cause foul breath in an indirect manner as they cause dry mouth as a side effect, which in turn causes bad breath. Other medications break down in your body and the chemicals, which the medicine contains can be carried on your breath.

Diagnosis:
Dentists would usually rate the odor from your mouth either by smelling or by using certain sophisticated odor detectors. The back of the tongue is often the source of smell and the dentist is also likely to scrape the region and rate its odor.

Treatment:

  1. Maintaining oral hygiene: If the bad breath is due to the formation of plaque, brushing and flossing on a regular basis will prevent its growth, thus reducing or eliminating bad breath. Using mouthwashes also kills bacteria, hence eliminating the bad breath causing bacteria from your mouth.
  2. Treatment of dental disease: Gum disease can also cause bad breath as in this disease, the gums pull away from the teeth, which gives scope for bacterial growth causing bad breath. Treating gum disease, thus would also eliminate the scope for bacterial growth and eliminate bad breath at the same time.

I got mouth ulcers whenever I eat meat, chicken, eggs, brinjal etc from last 15 years.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
I got mouth ulcers whenever I eat meat, chicken, eggs, brinjal etc from last 15 years.
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need Coronoplasty (smoothen teeth edges) along with Multivitamin cap, for five days in the morning after meals & antiseptic ointment or gel on the area of ulcer until then. Mouth sores are common and rarely cause complications.

I have deep bleeding in my gums since two weeks. What should I do. Please help me.
Hello I have read your query. As far as bleeding from gums is concerned is due to deposition of subgingival calculus in gums. Do not be worried so much I will suggest you to consult dentist for oral prophylaxis. Brush you teeth properly twice daily. Use mouthwash regularly. Hope my answer helps you.

Hello as per your query loss of complete tooth in an accident necessitates proper healing prior to any dental procedure being undertaken. As far as life time of a cap is concerned, it usually lasts till the supporting teeth or the tooth on which it has been placed lasts for. But do get an iopa i. E. X -ray done in order to confirm that no tooth fragment is left behind in the socket.

gum is more important for the tooth to be strong.. don't forget to massage your gums using finger while brushing.. avoid sticky foods to reduce plaque formation which leads to calculus deposit and gingivitis..every 6 months visit a dentist and undergo scaling if needed..
