Why can't I take deep breath some times? How does it can be cured? What are the causes for this?

Check the person's airway, breathing, and pulse. Loosen any tight clothing. Help the person use any prescribed medicine (an asthma inhaler or home oxygen). Many breathing problems are chronic or long-term. These common breathing problems include chronic sinusitis, allergies, and asthma. These problems can cause a host of symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, chest congestion, cough, wheezing, labored breathing, and shallow breathing.

I stopped the use of an eye drop acupat after using it for 2 months, 10 days ago. However a sinus infection caused by its sude effect has not gone away. I am afraid that is it a long term side effect or it will go away? What shall I do to get rid of it?

DORL, MBBS
ENT Specialist, Faridabad
Sometimes if the connection between nose and eyes duct is wide and you put eye drops this will go into nose and produces irritation and congestion and if congestion stays for long time this leads to infection, if having infection in nose than take antibiotics and decongestant under guidance from nose surgeon.

Having running nose and cough in this hot weather. Is it ok to stay in ac. Please suggest As fast as possible.

BHMS
Homeopath, Chennai
Homoeopathy has very good medicines for seasonal affections avoid entering ac room directly after coming from hot sun or in swearing condition cause sudden suppression of sweat may aggravate your problem, after completion of this acute course go for constitutional homoeopathic treatment which will make you more resistant for any kind of environmental influences.

Doctor from last 2 months m going from very bad dry cough and I also took treatments for it but it hasn't been cured but it got severhigh n now while cough I also vomit and after too much cough with every dry cough I get mucus Pls Help.

Diploma in Otorhinolaryngology (DLO), MBBS
ENT Specialist, Bangalore
Looks like an allergic cough. The fact that the cough is there since 2 months it would be worthwhhile getting a routine blood examination along with a x-ray of the chest done. If the blood report & the x-ray is normal then an anti-allergic tablet with an anti tussive syrup cough (for dry cough )should help.

"For Sinus and Nose problems, try taking steam inhalation for 3 times a day. To know how to take steam, please read instructions below to know - how to take steam inhalation for best results. If problem is not solved in 2-3 days, you may need additional medicines. Techniques to steam 1) Boil a pot of water. 2) Pour water into a large flat pan or bowl. If you use a casserole, water will remain warm for longer duration. 3) Place your head over the bowl at a distance of 1 feet. 4) Cover your head and bowl with a large towel (like a tent), take long breath through your nose and breath out through mouth. Take a break every 1-2 minutes until you feel relatively cooler. Do it for 10 minute twice or thrice a day. If you feel that the treatment is getting too much for you, raise the towel so that fresh air is brought into the area and breathe through your mouth a couple of times and then resume Take care - Take all precautions while dealing with hot water. Also, keep children away and wan others that you are dealing with boiling hot water. Other way is - by an Electric steamer available in market and take steam through it. It is more convenient. "

Hi. I understand your concerns. You are having asthma. Asthma is a most common allergic condition which is not curable but can definitely be controlled so that you can lead a symptom free life. You will need to undergo pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis and also to assess severity of asthma based on which treatment can be started. Consult a pulmonologist for the same. Hope your questions were answered. Thanks.
